View 2 Repliesbasically every time my I open a game or something else that overheats my CPU it takes the graphics chip with it. So whenever I boot my laptop the boot screen goes from black to white from the outside so I have to hold down the power button and wait for it to cool down. Could this be a corrupt chip or a overheating problem or some thing else?

I merely want the capability to run the machine at its native resolution without having "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" listed in Device Manager.

I get a black screen already right in the beginning (before boot screen) and have no idea how to resolve it. Can't install new driver as I can't even boot Win 7. Can't go into safe mode, as I can't see the menu.
I just bought a new acer (link) and proceeded to install windows 7 (64-bit) straight ahead. I must admit i made a bit of a mistake when i didn't check if the box it got shipped in contained any drivers or such (which it didn't to my surprise!)
Currently got experience with 32-bit Windows 7, but not with 64-bit which I've heard had a rough time with bugs. Because my system is a 64-bit platform i suppose this might be one of the reasons for my problems. On a side note, this system is shipped out with both onboard gfx and an extra card (the ATI 4670 one)
But on to the main issue; Currently my problem with this system is an issue regarding my ATI mobility radeon HD4670 GFX card. (This is the drivers I've tried soo far:
ATI Catalystâ„¢ Mobility Display Driver - Directly downloaded from the ati.amd.com site (this is by chance also the latest native win 64-bit driver) http://www.acer.com - Go to the driver section and select the right system (Acer Aspire 8935G).
Sadly there is no windows 7 drivers atm, only vista ones. Without any drivers, this is how my Device Manager list my display units. As you will notice windows update have already found some driver for it. But the Device will not start (This device cannot start. (Code 10))
driver that will get my Sony Vaio VGN-BX396XP to run its native 1280 x 800 res in Windows 7 - W7 is telling me that its got a 'Generic Non-PnP Monitor on Standard VGA Graphics Adaptor, which it hasn't - it has an ATI Mobility Rareon X1600 (with HyperMemory - nice.). I guess it may be a memory issue, so perhaps I need to upgrade the Graphics card or allocate the Graphics Adaptor with more system RAM?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy bro just got his laptop repaired in some of the store I don't know where it is but probably the store persuade him to upgrade his OS (he's just there to replace his missing button on his notebook such 'E' button). Suddenly I got told by him that his warcraft III screen is not full screen, this is a problem with ATi video driver or to be precise with Catalyst Control Center.
But after a long search in google and installing this and there and from ATi websites, there is no CCC shown in the taskbar although the installation is success with nothing wrong. I'm sure about this because my HP notebook just got this problem from the very first time I got it. My bro notebook is Toshiba Satellite M300. So any CCC installation for ATi HD3400 mobile that match in windows 7 x64?

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I had just upgraded my laptop (Dell Inspiron E1505) to Windows 7 and was using the Windows Update to get all the drivers for my hardware. All of them worked except the ATI Mobility Radeon x1300, and when i try to download/install it, it just comes up with unknown error code 80200053. Now my computer is stuck with low resolution and using a generic PnP standard VGA Graphics Adapter driver and I can't find a way to get my video card to work. Any way to install the driver? I tried downloading the driver online, but those versions are not compatible with Windows 7?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe performance scores on my less than 2 year old computer are :- Processor & memory, both 7.3 Graphics 4.6 gaming 6.1 and hard disk 5.9. I have tried AMD fo poor graphics score, they suggested downloading their latest Catalyst driver suite. I followed their instructions to the letter and, no change. They now suggest that I upgrade to their Firepro range. As a pensioner, I never intend to play games on my computer, but do intend to try and record the family's life in photo slide shows and video, so only need the graphics side of the graphics card to work well.As I seem to have a slow card, I thought I'd go up on the internet and buy a faster one for £50 approx. (I want an AMD/ATI card, as I have an AMD Athlon quad core processor.) Trouble is all the review sites only deal with the gaming speeds of the cards, not the side I would use for video editing. So can anyone tell me, or guide me towards a web site that can, how to choose a reasonably good compatible graphics card that is geared towards video and photo editing
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been having this problem 2 days ago and it's a bit frustrating. I was just playing some games when it suddenly restarted automatically. My device manager doesn't seem to acknowledge my graphics card anymore for some apparent reason. I've tried plugging my monitor in my graphics card and it just seems like on a standby mode with the blank screen showing nothing.
But when I plug my monitor to my motherboard port it shows up fine and is in the device manager. I've tried cleaning my drivers with "Driver Sweeper" then reinstalling the lastest driver for my graphics card, but that didn't do anything. I was hoping if anyone knows what's wrong with my graphics card . Thank you.
Is my graphics card burnt/broken?
EDIT:
Graphics card - Radeon x1900
I've recently upgraded to windows 7 x86, and it works great. The only problem I have is that my ati mobility radeon 3650 graphics card doesn't seem to want to work.
I've tried reinstalling the drivers several times using several different versions of the driver (win7beta, vista32, mobilitymodded, unmobilitymodded).
Whenever I try starting up with the card enabled, the screen goes blank. After reinstalling the driver, everything but the wallpaper goes away. Can anyone help?
So I've been using the windows 7 7000 build ever since it came out and its been running just fine on my setup. A couple days ago i downloaded the new RC 7100 build and when i tried to install it, i kept getting a blue screen.
I don't remember why, but i concluded that the issue was my graphics card so i took out my Radeon 4870x2 and took my dad's card, a GeForce 8500 GT. Putting the GeForce in my pc worked and it installed smoothly with both 32bit and 64bit versions of windows 7 RC
I then tried to put my Radeon back into my pc after installing with my geforce. Once it booted i got no signal to the monitor. After finding a work around my i got a blue screen after about 10 min. then it would not boot windows.
I'm still stuck at the installation with my radeon when i put the cd in. i get a blue screen right after the logo thing starts to move, this is before any setup information comes up.
In short, i cant get widows 7 RC to work with my graphics card.
I have laptop ASUS K50AB, with 2 graphic cards, one is ATI Radeon HD 3200 and it works fine, but another one is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 Series, and I have huge problems to instal drivers on it.First I reinstaled my Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and all drivers are updated except this one(there is yellow mark on it), I tried to instal it automatic but it says that newest drivers are instaled allready, then I got some drivers from ati website and it still does not work.
