When I zone into a different area, it does it again. It is doing it on my desk top and lap top so it has to have something to do with the game.

I tried it again to make sure it would still happen (it did, not a great idea) and tried with the discrete card active which let it run. I also noticed the laptop having some minor issues in other places as well.
Around the new year, I installed new RAM. Ever since, I have been getting BSOD at various times. I ran memtest86 and it came back clean. Unfortunately I left the old RAM a few thousand miles away so I can't test it with that. I also started playing a couple of more graphics intensive games (Star Trek Online and BFBC2) around that same time. At first, the BSOD would only occur during gameplay. Lately, the games have been running better but I get random blue screens while web browsing about once a week. The ones during games usually said atimpag.sys or dxgmms.sys. The ones during browsing usually say ntfs.sys or fltmgr.sys. ntoskrnl.exe seems to occur with both. I've attached a file with the dmps and some screen shots of cpuz.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was playing Skyrim last weekend, and the game froze on a black screen just as it was cutting to a kill animation. I had to restart the computer but when Windows loaded I had a BSOD. The computer booted fine up till this point.I've been looking up causes and fixes all week, and the dump files seem to suggest a 0x116 Video_TDR_error. I've attached all the requested information.I've already tried installing several different graphics drivers - the newest, the one supplied with the card, and one between. Windows and DirectX were fully up to date. I've also tried formatting the hard drive and installing Windows fresh, twice. I've had the computer back to the state it arrived in, when the drivers worked fine, and I've tried it with only the video drivers installed. Everything I try now is still resulting in the same BSOD.I can only get Windows to load in Safe Mode, or if I go into Device Manager and disable my graphics card. I am now fairly convinced the card itself is the problem, and I'm looking for confirmation before I go and get a new one fitted.The computer was new at the end of November. I had the same Windows install since then, but now I'm running a fresh install.

Game worked fine for the beta and even for a week or two after launch. Randomly (not on a patch day), the game started crashing. Now it crashes after 2 or 3 minutes in the game almost every time. I've followed all the regular troubleshooting steps (see Battle.net thread here). At first I didn't see any error logs, but the Action Center came up today with a bunch of errors looking like this. I included the recommended error files, the dump files from the error in the above screenshot, and the perfmon report.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI installed Windows 7 RC a few days ago and I am very happy with it except for one thing, and that's when playing games.
When I have played for some time (it's totally random) the screen goes black and it refuses to display the image again, tried unplugging it from graphics card, turn off power and nothing helps. The sound continues but nothing else respond.
This happens in all games i've tried this far (Prototype, Overlord II, Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood). It never happens when I'm simply using Windows or programs, only when I play games. Windowed Mode also seems to work without the screen going black, but unfortunately all games doesn't have an option to play in windowed mode.
I have all updates from Windows Update installed, latest graphics drivers and DirectX. The graphics card is quite hot when I touch it, so is it possible that Windows 7 is very sensitive to this? I never had this problem in Vista and it appeared right after i formated the harddrive and installed Windows 7 RC.
I was bored so I decided to install a known Scarface game. I downloaded it from the Internet and installed. When I started the first mission and the graphics was bad, just some black shadows. Is there any recommendation how to run scarface the Windows 7 32 bit?

I've tried reinstalling the drivers several times using several different versions of the driver (win7beta, vista32, mobilitymodded, unmobilitymodded).
Whenever I try starting up with the card enabled, the screen goes blank. After reinstalling the driver, everything but the wallpaper goes away. Can anyone help?
I recently turned on my laptop for it to constantly arrive to a black screen just before I select the user login. I read some instructions on a different forum stating that I need to log in to the computer via the safe mode and un install my display driver which is Intel(R) HD Graphics, I did this which enabled me to get back onto my original login but at a price.My driver now says that it's VGA, My screen resolution has changed, every app I use crashes constantly as well as any videos/films I play they crash, skip every minute or so.Yet if I update the driver I end up back at square one, the black screen.My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5742 with Windows 7.I've also tried the windows recovery which crashes.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I launch either of 2 games (Borderlands and The Secret World), after a while, the screen will go dark and most of the time I'll hear a high pitched wine, I'll restart the PC and everything is usually good. I say usually because in the last 2 days, when booting up, I'll get to the screen that says "Starting windows" or the desktop is about to be displayed and the screen goes dark.
The SSD firmware has been updated to the latest; I worked with Kingston to do this. In the BIOS, the drive is configured to use Raid (XHD) and the drive is physically connected to the SATA3 port.
I have tried physically connecting it to a SATA2 for the firmware upgrade along with changing from Raid (XHD) to ACHI to IDE. When I run the program Speccy, it says that the status of S.M.A.R.T is bad and running Crystal Disk Info, it says Unknown for the disk health and other fields.
I have started playing Guild Wars 2, after the first couple of days my game started to freezing and black screen to desktop before going back into game to only black screen again. At times my monitor would say no signal. The problem disappeared for close to 5 days and came back up again. I got a monitor that I use as secondary display.I use that monitor for tv shows while playing on primary, or that was the plan.When I start gta san andreas, the second screen goes black. But it's only the video. If I take VLC out of full screen, I can see the desktop.So basically, video doesnt work on secondary display while playing game on primary one.

The windows 7 is perfect which I installed in May 2011; is in excellent shape, all other programs like videos, online surfing, audios, working on MS office are running well without any issue. View 4 Replies View Related - Win 7 RC 7100 32 bit does not load the correct graphics card driver and even the boot menu is not displayed correctly (fuzzy black screen, issue known from Ubuntu installations where it was solved by adapting boot loader specifications…) I do know however, that the boot menu is loaded correctly as “arrow down” + “enter” starts XP without any issues.
Win 7 is somewhat loaded, when hitting “enter” only in what I think must be the boot menue. Harddrive gets active and for 5 secons I even get a “black screen in normal resolution” with the arrow displayed correctly. Then unfortunately returning to fuzzy mode.
Questions:
- How to boot Win 7 in vga or graphics modus being blinded? When hitting F8 hard drive reacts differently, but how then to select the right boot option without seeing anything?
- Is there an option to install a different graphics card driver into win 7 via the working XP?
- Is there an option to modify the boot menu’s options via working XP, e.g., setting to vga modus (that did the trick for Ubuntu).
- Any experience with Radeon Mobility 9600 (MV350) under Win 7?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI updated my system from XP to Win 7. I clean installed Windows 7 onto a new HDD and installed the necesarry things I needed onto the new HDD. I have since been getting a series of black screeen crashes at many and varied times and whilst doing many different things. Sometimes my computer crashes when playing Mopdern Warfare 2, but sometimes it is just when surfing the internet, or just whilst idle. It is very frustrating and I have tried many things to try and rectify the problem, including trying to uninstall Comodo Firewall which i though was the initial problem, and also Realtek Audio Dirvers, to no avail. There is relitivly little bloatware on my PC at the moment as I plan on upgrading my system onto a SSD in the new year, so I am doing without iTunes and such like until 2012. [code]

I installed Windows 7 recently and then installed Borderlands and COD4. Both games run fine at lowest settings but after about 15-20 minutes of playing, my screen would just turn off and I'd have to switch the laptop off using the power button to reboot.
I'm not sure if this is a Windows 7 problem, graphic card issue, or heat related issue since my notebook fan is not working and i'm using a notebook cooler.
Recently I decided to finally reinstall my Windows 7, since it was ~2yrs old and getting slower each day. I used the official MSDN Windows 7 Professional ISO SP1 and did a clean install. Unfortunately, I've been having this problem which I can't solve no matter what. It seems to me that there's some graphics issues - When resizing any window, it takes some tome while it redraws it's contents, you can actually see it updating the contents.Also, there's some sort of flickering involved as well.Machine in question is: HP ProBook 4515s With AMD/ATi HD 4330, running Windows 7 32bit SP1.I have tried the following, without success:
- the default drivers on the HP website
- the drivers provided by windows update service
- latest mobile drivers from AMD
- modded drivers with Mobility Modder
- Aero On / Aero Off / Disabling every visual effect
- Updating BIOS
- Doing the same on x64 version of windows.
I have DirectX updated, and all other patches and drivers should be there as well.

I would get a random black screen while playing an online game on my laptop (this happens randomly but usually 15-30mins after starting Windows and start playing the game). After the black screen appeared, it would automatically reboot to this windows error recovery page with options to go into safe mode (networking/command prompt) or just boot windows normally.I chose to boot Windows normally but after getting into Windows 7 and started playing a while, a random BSOD would appear. It has happened for 2-3 days straight. The attached is the mini dump.
Note: I did not install anything new to my laptop, I have ran chkdsk and sfc /scannow and found nothing.I have no idea what caused the black screen and the BSOD.
