Since June my computer has had no luck in successfully downloading the Service Pack 1 for Windows 7. I have an HP Mini 110 Netbook. Not quite sure how to approach a solution for this. I constantly get error code 80041010. Any suggestions?

VPN configures ok but fails with error 619. Usually a authentication issue so disabled windows firewall and avast with same results. Other than the ip address, user id and password are there any other VPN configuration issues I may have missed? I followed an XP script but the Windows 7 config was very close.

Have been receiving messages that Windows has detected a HD problem, I ran the HP Support Assistant and it comes back with the, Smart Threshold Test Failed. Error Code HD521-5W Will certainly do a lot of backups now, but can anyone tell me anything about what might be happening ? Again, PC seems to be working fine.

It is six weeks from new. When I load a dvd rom into the drive bay at the front of the computer the dvd is taken into the machine. When I try to play the disc I get the message 'insert disc'.Watching DVDs worked perfectly until a few days ago.

I tried starting windows in safe mode, but windows update will not run then. I tried doing a clean boot by following the steps in the article but no success. I tried turning off the antivirus and firewall but that did not help either. Then the article runs out of ideas so here I am.
My laptop is Dell Inspiron 14R and use windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. I was trying to download itunes but it showed failure and did not respond. Then, I used task manager to close the window. Then, I restart the computer. Now, I see many of my desktop icons missing and also my documents missing. However, those documents are availble in a folder called UsesDell folder in C drive. Apart from these problems, the fonts of the internet explorer has changed and its like using a new computer where I have to install programs again.

Normally, the BSOD occurs when there is a sudden interruption in the Internet connection (Internet connection is through a USB modem as a dial-up connection). In such a case, the system refuses to acknowledge the presence of the USB in the port. After approx. 10 minutes the BSOD occurs. View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night, i noticed i had low memory on my C drive. so I uninstalled a few programs - games mostly and needless addons - and then restarted. After restarting, the laptop got stuck at the bootup screen, at about 70%, then persisted to say "operating system not found" repeatedly.
This morning, after turning it on, it now gets past this screen, but says theres a "SMART failure predicted" on on my Hard drive. It also says ahard drive fail;ure is imminent. It does this for a few minutes, and then gets 'stuck' again at 70% at startup.
So.. is this a problem with my HDD? Everything points to this, but I'm not sure of my next step? Do i need to reinstall windows (problem, seeing as i don't have an installation disc)
I have Windows 7 Pro 64bit set to automatically update the OS. Three days ago I lost connectivity on my shared home network that uses a Netgear WN2000RPTv2 wireless extender to connect to my Ruku which had worked perfectly to stream movies. (Amazon Prime). When I began to check out the systems for possible errors, I noticed that there had been updates for Netgear, several optional and one recommended. All failed with the error code of 80070103. I've tried unplugging my routers, did a hard restart to factory defaults, etc., all resulting in no change to the systems. The desktop pc connected to it is as follows:

I was trying to make a bootable USB flash drive for windows 7 from Windows 7 Home Premium Reinstall disk that came with my Dell laptop, using the WinToFlash utility. But in starting the process, the PC froze, all applications (even explorer.exe) stopped, and Alt+Ctrl+Del refused to work. I tried booting from Windows 7 reinstall DVD but none of the repair options worked. I tried reinstall and repair options but my Hard Drive did not show up. It rather asked to Load Drivers for the Hard Disk. However, it did show any of the USB drives I connected to it, along with an X: drive, which must be the recovery drive for Dell's factory restore. I tried looking for Hard Disk drivers in that but no luck.
Then I downloaded from another PC a USB utility for Seagate Hard Drives from Dell website that makes a bootable USB. I ran that utility and it showed all the test passed (But there was no firmware update during the tests). Another thing I tried was using list disk command on command prompt in Windows Repair, but It did not show any drives, not even the X: drive. It only showed the USB drives I attached to it, or the DVD drive in list volume command.
I cannot boot to windows, I cannot install new windows, I cannot repair the windows and I cannot even factory restore my laptop. The hard drive shows up in BIOS, but not in Windows Boot or Windows Installation. Is there any way I can get my Hard Disk back without losing data? I have two partitions of that drive. I don't care about formatting C: Drive (Windows) but I wanna preserve E: Drive (the one filled with personal data but no programs).
about a year ago I had a problem with my pc where I would get the error message "display driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered" and the occasional BSOD. I solved this problem by simply flashing my bios. However a similar problem has now arrived ( note I have not changed any hardware since the last error) where:
- There is a constant buzzing from my monitor ( NOT a problem with the monitor as it works fine in safe mode with no buzzing, which is why I suspect a gpu problem)
- I get random "display driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered" messages, but no BSODs. OR the display just goes black and I have to hard reset my pc.

Everytime Windows downloads Windows updates, it is successfull downloading and installing, however, I then get a message saying: Failure configuring Windows Updates, Reverting Changes, Do Not turn off your computer.
I have gotten Windows Fixit for Windows Updates and installed....but that does not clear up the problem. I have not wanted to use Restore feature of Windows 7, since I have installed many critical programs that I use. Is there any other solution out in Cyberspace that will help resolve the "Failure Configuring Windows Updats".
Today when I went to turn on my Samsung laptop (with Windows 7), I got a ""Logon Process Initialization Failure" error message. I didn't even get to the screen which asks for my password to access the computer's functions. I tried to reboot into safe mode, but I got the same thing again. I can't open any program or even get to my desktop screen.
I found a Microsoft hotfix that appears to be for this problem, and although I saved the .exe file to my thumb drive from my desktop computer, I'm at a loss as to how to install it on my laptop when it won't operate correctly to download and run it!

The only thing that may have changed is that my old power cord to the laptop was frayed, and I ordered a new one off eBay. It's not a Samsung cord, but a replacement cord. My laptop worked fine with it for an entire day, then the following day is when this happened. I don't know if it's related to the problem or not.
