I am having trouble getting openGL to work in cs 1.6. It works in d3d and software but I need it to run in openGL. I am using a laptop asus n53s in device manager it says 2 display adapters.
Intel HD graphics family and NVidia Geforce GT 540m
I'm having trouble with CS 1.6 . The game would only run in Software Mode and whenever I try to run it in OpenGL this error message appears:The specified video mode is not supported.The game will now run in Software Mode..Mobile Intel(R) 945 Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation Pre-release VDDM1.0) is what I have. I think that maybe the problem could be that it's a Microsoft prerelease driver version or somewhat. I've tried checking on Intel's website but I've only seen either Intel 945GM or Intel 945GMS or something like that.

SO explorer keeps killing its self. every time i close the "windows has stopped working" window, 3 seconds later it decides to die again. It indicates ntdll.dll is the problem.. so i google it and it comes back as a system file and decide to "sfc /scannow" but it comes up with, Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

When I played again around 11pm, the game crashed repeatedly. I can reconnect to the game but after a few minutes it crashes again. I've also experienced AppHang, AppCrash and BEX error.
I can't attach the minidump from Steam because its around 1.16GB each.
I am operating on Windows 7 x64 OEM, and when I try to save or publish a movie on Live Movie Maker (The newest version), I get a popup stating that the program crashed, following by the program closing. I tried everything- new video card drivers, old video card drivers, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program.

I tried starting windows in safe mode, but windows update will not run then. I tried doing a clean boot by following the steps in the article but no success. I tried turning off the antivirus and firewall but that did not help either. Then the article runs out of ideas so here I am.
If you are running a ATI Graphics card and you play HL1 games (CS, Day of Defeat, ect...) here is a fix for not being able to play in OpenGL mode.
This is for 64 bit driver.

In the task bar I see the an icon that writes MFC, which is the program that gives the error message. I looked in my task manager under processes if I see MFC, but there is nothing like this. Normally, the BSOD occurs when there is a sudden interruption in the Internet connection (Internet connection is through a USB modem as a dial-up connection). View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night, i noticed i had low memory on my C drive. so I uninstalled a few programs - games mostly and needless addons - and then restarted. After restarting, the laptop got stuck at the bootup screen, at about 70%, then persisted to say "operating system not found" repeatedly.
This morning, after turning it on, it now gets past this screen, but says theres a "SMART failure predicted" on on my Hard drive. It also says ahard drive fail;ure is imminent. It does this for a few minutes, and then gets 'stuck' again at 70% at startup.
So.. is this a problem with my HDD? Everything points to this, but I'm not sure of my next step? Do i need to reinstall windows (problem, seeing as i don't have an installation disc)
