Oct 3, 2011I was planning on doing some college work during the weekend, but when I went to switch my laptop on it wouldn't connect to my hub. I have Windows 7 and my network connection symbol in the bottom right corner had a yellow star over it saying there wasn't limited access and the connection was unsuccessful. After restarting my hub and laptop, then trying a neighbours hub it was still unsuccessful. I have used the troubleshoot settings and the response says I have either a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter, or the Local Area Connection adapter. I am unsure on what this means and how to fix it

May 2, 2012Yesterday my computer just went into a sleep mod, after rebooting the PC the screen resolution + internet was really weird.After installing new driver for my graphic card the resolution problem was fixed. But the internet was still "broken". In the network and sharing -> adapter it's says that I'am enabled but not connected.
I've tried:
- Ping 127.0.0.1 and got "Transmit failed. General failure".
- Net stock winmgmt + netsh etc.
- Uninstalled the firewall.
- Turned off the computer for 10 min and removed my RAM for 10 min.
- Got a new network adapter.
- System restore.

Oct 12, 2011I have a Windows 7 computer with a DSL connection via ethernet. I lost my connection a week ago. A T & T has verified that there are no problems with the DSL line or the modem, and for good measure I bought a new ethernet cable. Windows 7 Diagnostics reports that there might be a problem with the Local Area Connection Adapter driver, but doesn't say what the problem is or what to do about it. When I visited the Device Manager, the adapter was shown to be enabled and working properly.

Three days ago I lost connectivity on my shared home network that uses a Netgear WN2000RPTv2 wireless extender to connect to my Ruku which had worked perfectly to stream movies. (Amazon Prime). When I began to check out the systems for possible errors, I noticed that there had been updates for Netgear, several optional and one recommended. All failed with the error code of 80070103. Windows 7 Installation Failure On Toshiba Laptop - Run Startup Repair

original media from Toshiba with win7
I am trying to completely wipe this laptop off and start fresh. The recovery partition has been removed as part of my search for a resolution for the problem. When I try to install windows 7 on this machine I start by selecting to format the entire hard drive. It completes this and then starts the installation of windows 7. It take a very long time for windows to unpack the files and copy them to disc. After about an hour and a half it starts asking me for the User name/location/time settings, etc.
After that it reboots to startup windows for the first time. It immediately tells me that windows cannot start and startup repair will need to be run or I can select to ignore this and try to start normally. Either option yields no improvement. After working with each of those options I just decided to reformat the drive and start the install again. Even after the drive was wiped and fully formatted I get the same error once the windows installation finishes.

I tried booting from Windows 7 reinstall DVD but none of the repair options worked. I tried reinstall and repair options but my Hard Drive did not show up. It rather asked to Load Drivers for the Hard Disk. However, it did show any of the USB drives I connected to it, along with an X: drive, which must be the recovery drive for Dell's factory restore. I tried looking for Hard Disk drivers in that but no luck.
Then I downloaded from another PC a USB utility for Seagate Hard Drives from Dell website that makes a bootable USB. I ran that utility and it showed all the test passed (But there was no firmware update during the tests). Another thing I tried was using list disk command on command prompt in Windows Repair, but It did not show any drives, not even the X: drive. It only showed the USB drives I attached to it, or the DVD drive in list volume command.
I cannot boot to windows, I cannot install new windows, I cannot repair the windows and I cannot even factory restore my laptop. The hard drive shows up in BIOS, but not in Windows Boot or Windows Installation. Is there any way I can get my Hard Disk back without losing data? I have two partitions of that drive. I don't care about formatting C: Drive (Windows) but I wanna preserve E: Drive (the one filled with personal data but no programs).

Jul 24, 2012I recently have been getting blue shutdown screens on my laptop. I will give you plenty of information about my computer. I put all the information about the Blue screen dump files and my System Information file in an attachment. I hope this helps. I recently found out you could save the System Information file as a text and also as an .exe. This is how it happens, I will be using my computer and then the computer will become very slow and unresponsive. It is not completely unresponsive but it will be so slow that I cannot use it, then after about 3 minutes of this slow unresponsiveness the blue screen will show up and say driver power state failure and shutdown. I recently formatted the computer because it had been doing this before so I restored it back to factory defaults about one month ago.
