OpenGL Failure With CS 1.6 / Specified Video Mode Is Not Supported
Jun 6, 2009
I'm having trouble with CS 1.6 . The game would only run in Software Mode and whenever I try to run it in OpenGL this error message appears:The specified video mode is not supported. The game will now run in Software Mode..Mobile Intel(R) 945 Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation Pre-release VDDM1.0) is what I have. I think that maybe the problem could be that it's a Microsoft prerelease driver version or somewhat. I've tried checking on Intel's website but I've only seen either Intel 945GM or Intel 945GMS or something like that.
I am getting error message in my dell laptop "OPENGL 2.0 RENDERER NOT SUPPORTED" while playing some games and i checked already same solved section and tried it is not working my laptop. Hence, i am giving my laptop configuration as below :
------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 4/21/2012, 06:23:14 Machine name: VENKATJAI-PC Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850) Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
I am having trouble getting openGL to work in cs 1.6. It works in d3d and software but I need it to run in openGL. I am using a laptop asus n53s in device manager it says 2 display adapters.
Intel HD graphics family and NVidia Geforce GT 540m
Driver windows 7 x64 opengl for onboard video card. how can i make CS 1.6 work if i don't have a video card...i have a Gigabyte motherboard G31 series.
I need to know how to enable my accelerated gpu drivers through Command prompt in safe mode. Please don't tell me that there's no such thing, or that Safe mode is for core drivers only... Blah blah blah. I have already enabled my sound card drivers, and Windows installer, so I know it's possible to enable my graphics card with command prompt. The reason I need to do this, is to run certain programs that require OpenGL in Safe Mode. My computer's hard drive is dying, so it doesn't run in normal mode, only Safe mode. I don't plan on replacing this computer too soon, so to have my everyday usage, I need the command.
i just bought a brand new HP with windows seven on it. i am trying to do a "duplicate" display on my screens. one of them is my regular montior and the other is my 50 inch samsung tv but whenever i click on duplicate display it says MODE NOT SUPPORTED on my tv. i am using the GVA i believe it is, the BLUE plug for my tv and the white one for my montior. so i went and bought a graphics card thinking it would help and it hasnt. i still see the mode not supported on my tv but my computer down here in my basement is fine. and ideas? i'm running a 50ft GVA "blue plug" to my tv since its upstairs and my computer is here downstairs and i want a duplicate on it. so whatever im doing here on the computer will show on my TV upstairs.
I have a panasonic NV-GS230 video camera. When I connect it to Windows 7/32 bit I only have the webcam. I'm unable to upload my video's from the camera to Windows 7. When I tried installing the usb drivers I've got the message that they aren't supported in Windows 7. I contacted panasonic about this and they told me I have an unsupported camera (which is only 2 years old). I now tried installing the USB drivers in the Win XP Mode. But now I get an error that my computer doesn't have any supported USB 2.0 ports.
After having set up XP in virtualisation mode and had it working more or less satisfactorily. Even got a USB sound card working. I find today that after getting into it, a major programme would not launch.
I launched a second one, which ran but which locked up and could not be stopped.
Exit XP. Reboot the Windows 7 machine. Start XP, get error "Terminal connection is busy processing another connect operation" followed after a time by the login screen.
Enter password and get the same error.
One time I did get into XP, but every app lauched gave error "App failed to init as the window station is shutting down". I noticed that the locked-up app from the first session was still on the taskbar and still locked up and unable to be stopped.
I'm trying to connect my PC to my TV. I'm using the display port on my Lenovo thinkpad, and using a converter to connect an HDMI cord from my computer display port to my TV. However, when connecting, I get an image on my TV screen for several seconds, then I get the message "not supported mode."I've got into my control panel and adjusted the screen resolution, setting the TV resolution to highest (1920 x 1080). The computer screen is set at a refresh rate of 60hz, but the only option I have for the TV is 30hz, interlaced.Lastly, I have three hdmi ports on the TV. The closest I've gotten to getting this to work is plugging the HDMI cord into port 3, which is set as "game" on the TV settings.
Does anyone have any further recommendations on how I can get this to work? When the image shows for 5 seconds on the first port, it's very clear, but then goes to "Not Supported Mode". The third port shows the image, but is very fuzzy with lines shaking across the screen, so clearly, neither of these options are currently working.
I have recently moved to Windows 7 (upon getting a new motherboard installed) and 2 weeks later. I cannot start up as I get a 'Restart from Hibernate' message on screen but nothing further happens. I have tried a 'hard restart' from power off several times, allowing plenty of time for capacitor discharge etc but get the same message. More worrying is that I cannot find any way to get the pc to start in safe mode or use restore as Windows 7 seems almost to be bypassing the bios. Holding down delete on startup shows the first line of the bios screen then moves immediately to the hibernate message. It seems to move into that screen before the keyboard or mouse are activated. How I can get out of hibernate?
After trying to scan my computer with tdskiller (I believe its called) to remove some viruses, I was asked to reboot. When I did, my backround desktop picture turned black, files seemed to be missing from my desktop and a window poped up scanning and telling me how many errors I had. Shortly after I got about 20 error pop up messages. I rebooted my computer and more files were missing to the point all I had was recycle bin, and two other programs.
Now the computer runs only in safe mode, No matter what I do (pressing f8 - start in normal mode) nothing works. I cant get internet access, and worst of all, I cant even system restore or even recover it back to to the malfunctioners option due to errors. I am stuck and do not know what else to try.
Ive tried the repair option in dos aswell and it just keeps me in the "Loading window files" screen, as I left it there for nearly four hours im guessing that was not going to work.
since installing 11-6 drivers i've noticed my gpu is going into 3d mode when i'm watching a video and i can start hearing my fans.i know with Internet videos you disable the hardware acceleration but unsure how to disable it when watching a film.
I recently built a new computer (specs below) and have been having intermittent issues upon power on/restart with my monitor displaying 'Cannot Display This Video Mode' and above that 'Optimum Resolution 1920x1200 60Hz'. I may have to power off/power on the computer one or two times before the computer loads completely to windows 7 login. Other times - the computer starts completely fine. As this is a fresh build (1 week old), I have loaded all the newest drivers from the appropriate websites.I have no problem playing any games in their highest settings (SWTOR, BF3, WOW, ETC.) and have no issues with anything once I can make it to the windows login. I have been reading forum after forum to find a solution to my problem without any luck. I read that unplugging the monitor may help the issue, and the last time it gave me that video mode message, I tried that - and it worked. I am running the monitor (DELL EF248WFP in 1920x1200 resolution, 60Hz) through the DVI connector on my MSI HD 7970.
So basically I'm trying to see if my netbook can play a certain game.
I've installed and ran it. on the firs run it gave an error that it could not detect hardware configuration, and it needed a gpu with generic opengl 1.4 drivers. the gma500 is capable of opengl 2.0.
when i am playing Cs zero the video quality is very bad,it seems that i am playing game of 2 bit.i have just installed windows 7 on my dell inspiron 1525
I have a video card that I want to install in my computer running Win 7 Professional. The card is only supported with xp drivers. Win 7 Professional has XP MODE where users can operate in an Xp environment. Can I use my video card in XP mode? Even if it is not the primary video card perhaps?
What video card does safe mode use? I have two : the 6310 one and the 6370 one, before I booted safe mode the 6370 was enabled in "normal mode" and had up to date drivers. How to add a signature or change username?
I just built a new computer and first couple boot ups everything worked fine, but when I tried it the next day I got "Cannot Display Video Mode"and then after the system reset itself the screen looks all messed up with these weird vertical yellow dotted lines. I've tried reinstalling the drivers nothing works. System says Error 43 and it stopped the video card. There is no integrated video on my motherboard. After installing drivers it does the same thing before, I have tried doing clean installs.
E Machine EL1852G Running Windows7When I press play the screen usually goes blank or flashes. If you can find fullscreen button it will work in fullscreen mode.
My OS is Windows 7 32 bits. I checked base video in boot option in msconfig and also checked make all boot settings permanent. So my window always boots with low resolution mode. Therefore I rechecked base video, checked all boot settings permanent, applied, ok and then restarted the windows. OK. Windows is starting, that's ok yet. My screen resolution is normal. And then My startup programs started, after a few seconds, My screen resolution changed to low immediately. I think I can't disable base video mode in msconfig.
I have really bad lag when running any application that requires full screen mode. I've got the latest AMD drivers that supports my GFX card (Asus Radeon 4850). I used to have a Nvidia card and I would just change one of the settings to get rid of the lag. I changed the Graphics card and reformatted the computer so it shouldn't be a driver issue. I have Service Pack 1 and all the updates for Windows installed. The lag is unbearable for games, so I can't play any games that require full screen, no issues when it's run in windowed mode. I've used FPS monitors while running games (Fraps and MSI afterburner) and the frame rates readings are normal (above 60 always) but it always looks like 20-ish no matter which game I play.
For videos there's always some kind of problem. Used various media players, and different browsers for flash videos but sometime the video skips to the end very quickly, or won't continue playing and halts immediately somewhere along the way. Used MSI Kombustor to stress out the GPU, and it maxes at 70 at 100% load. Directx 10 stress test seems to be blurry, every other test seems fine to run but would have the lag from being in full screen.
