View 3 Replies View Relatedi just bought a brand new HP with windows seven on it. i am trying to do a "duplicate" display on my screens. one of them is my regular montior and the other is my 50 inch samsung tv but whenever i click on duplicate display it says MODE NOT SUPPORTED on my tv. i am using the GVA i believe it is, the BLUE plug for my tv and the white one for my montior. so i went and bought a graphics card thinking it would help and it hasnt. i still see the mode not supported on my tv but my computer down here in my basement is fine. and ideas? i'm running a 50ft GVA "blue plug" to my tv since its upstairs and my computer is here downstairs and i want a duplicate on it. so whatever im doing here on the computer will show on my TV upstairs.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with CS 1.6 . The game would only run in Software Mode and whenever I try to run it in OpenGL this error message appears:The specified video mode is not supported. The game will now run in Software Mode..Mobile Intel(R) 945 Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation Pre-release VDDM1.0) is what I have. I think that maybe the problem could be that it's a Microsoft prerelease driver version or somewhat. I've tried checking on Intel's website but I've only seen either Intel 945GM or Intel 945GMS or something like that.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect my PC to my TV. I'm using the display port on my Lenovo thinkpad, and using a converter to connect an HDMI cord from my computer display port to my TV. However, when connecting, I get an image on my TV screen for several seconds, then I get the message "not supported mode."I've got into my control panel and adjusted the screen resolution, setting the TV resolution to highest (1920 x 1080). The computer screen is set at a refresh rate of 60hz, but the only option I have for the TV is 30hz, interlaced.Lastly, I have three hdmi ports on the TV. The closest I've gotten to getting this to work is plugging the HDMI cord into port 3, which is set as "game" on the TV settings.
Does anyone have any further recommendations on how I can get this to work? When the image shows for 5 seconds on the first port, it's very clear, but then goes to "Not Supported Mode". The third port shows the image, but is very fuzzy with lines shaking across the screen, so clearly, neither of these options are currently working.
I read some tutorials that say to add "-window" to the end of the Location address, but in this particular case with the game "Tony Hawks Underground 1" I can not. Here's a screenshot: Also, the game uses a "Launcher" if this is
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to play an Infinity Engine game I recently purchased, Icewind Dale, in XP Mode. I decided to go with XP Mode over forcing it to run under Windows 7 with patches because the multiplayer client doesn't work on a 64 bit operating system, but installed and worked fine under XP Mode. But I can't get the game to start, and I'm not sure why. The errors I get are all involved with the movies, I actually haven't managed to get as far as the actual game menu. I can testify that I had an older laptop that ran on Windows XP, and was able to play Infinity games (is it possible to virtualize that computer onto my current? I still have it) but I only just recieved this one yesterday.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo last night I updated my computer (which I don't often do). Then today I go to play a game and I bsod. Try again, same thing. I boot in safe mode. Bsod again. I boot in safe mode once again and revert to a restore point from three days ago. I go to play the game again, bsod. There's only the most recent bsod saved from all of it, which I've uploaded here: [URL]. I didn't write down the information to "find solutions" for, unfortunately, suffice to say that the error given was just BlueScreen.
The updates I installed were:
KB2588516
KB2617657
KB2620704
KB2641690
KB890830
As well as a small handful of office 2010 updates.
Everytime I start playing league of legends, game window is displaced beyond display, I have to use WinSpy everytime to get it to right position, because of other reasons I have to play it in borderless mode
how to make it start in right position? Or in other words, is there something in registry that saves window position? and how do I get to that?
The monitor seems to go into power saving mode when entering/exiting a game such as a game in steam. (But it doesn't happen every time) the only way to get it out is hard restart. Yes I've tried other monitors, as well as display drivers, and there also seems to be nothing wrong in the Bios.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I install a game in Windows 7 and Windows recognizes it it dumps the game's shortcut in the Game folder of the Start Menu. That wouldn't be a problem except Windows 7 prevents the game from creating the shortcuts it would have created had the operating system not been Windows 7- things like the game's Read Me, Uninstaller & Configuration options.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my desktop and am running Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit. I'm now seeing problems with my old mouse and keyboard, which have worked just fine up till now.
The media keys on my keyboard work at the moment (though didn't last night and I have no idea why). The main issue is I have two extra mouse buttons that I can't seem to assign.
Logitech doesn't have drivers for me, they say that they are incorporated into Windows 7 by default. And yes, they work, but I can't assign buttons. The software for assigning the buttons, iTouch is no longer supported and doesn't work in Windows 7.
where can I find a list of these cards, I have looked all over but such a list does not seem readily available.

I have a panasonic NV-GS230 video camera. When I connect it to Windows 7/32 bit I only have the webcam. I'm unable to upload my video's from the camera to Windows 7. When I tried installing the usb drivers I've got the message that they aren't supported in Windows 7. I contacted panasonic about this and they told me I have an unsupported camera (which is only 2 years old). I now tried installing the USB drivers in the Win XP Mode. But now I get an error that my computer doesn't have any supported USB 2.0 ports.

My question is, will Windows 7 Home Premium be able to read all of these cores, or will I have to use my windows 7 Professional license upgrade in order for it to take advantage of all the cores?
And also, what's the maximum amount of cores that Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate can see?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my old computer I have Excel docs prepared using Windows XP and MS Office 2000. I have transferred all to a portable hard drive. My new computer has Windows 7. I've installed Office 2003 because I do not like the current version of Office. When I open the Word docs they are fine. However, when I open the Excel docs they appear as a .pdf not supported by Adobe. When I open them on my wife's computer which is Vista and MS Office 2000, they are fine. I really do not want to have to recreate the Excel docs using Office 2003. What, if anything, can I do to have the 2000 Excel docs transferred to 2003 Excel.
