Opening any program is either extremely slow or will crash the computer, but if it works then it works fine any other time you open it. Until the PC goes into sleep mode or is rebooted the problem is non-existent. no error messages are displayed and apparently, its not shown on the task manager's PC usage... also virus and spyware scans have shown nothing. This will stop after about 10 minutes of idol usage

as the post title suggests, i have had system problems since removing Antimalware Doctor. no trace of the virus seems to be on my computer but i still get the error message that Windows Explorer has stopped working. i have read other threads and followed the instructions as well as trying the suggestion of sfc.exe but when i try to open sfc.exe a CMD window pops up for a split second then quits and nothing else appears to happen. is there anything else i can try?

The Slide Show function in Explorer works great if I can control the timing.
I have a PC with an AMD Athalon II x2 255 processor 3.11 GHZ, 4 gb of ram, ATI Radeon HD 5670 Graphics card running on windows 7 32 bit OS.Every time I startup the computer; whenever i try to do anything (access files or the Internet) it runs very slow and then eventually just freezes with the little blue circle just spinning around. Sometimes a browser window will open and I can access a page or a folder will open, but then it will eventually just run so slow it is practically frozen (with little blue circle still spinning).I think it might be linked to my wireless Internet, the little Internet icon in the bottom right hand task bar is just stuck searching for a signal every time i start up (even if I wait 10 minutes).I am using my laptop right next to the computer and it is picking up the wireless single fine.

It created add-on's and made my computer do things that were not desirable. I uninstalled it but found it to be still lingering on my computer in the add-on sections of browsers. Ever since I downloaded the program and got the "Babylon Search" with it I have found that my computer is running really slow. It also shows up in Internet Explorer when I click to open a new tab. It comes up right away and seems to be mimicking the Google Search layout only it says Babylon in the top right of the screen...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have three computers: one Windows 7 x64, one Windows 7 x86, and XP SP3 on an Asus Eee 1005HA. The Win 7 x86 machine can see all the computers and shares. The XP machine can see all the computers and shares. The Win 7 x64 machine can see the other Win 7 machine but not the XP machine (the XP machine doesn't show up in Windows Explorer). The XP machine can browse the shares on the Win 7 machine.
Any idea why the Win 7 x64 machine can't see the XP machine? Thanks.
P.S. Both Windows 7 machines are running 7100, and all are connecting to each other over a gigabit switch.

I think it is because I recently installed and uninstalled winamp. (thats the only thing I can think of) I cant do system restore because I had it disabled. I have windows 7 home premium 32bit on a pretty fast AMD phenom II x4 with 4gb ram. The problem I ahve is with windows explorer. When I click on a drive, it takes about 5 seconds before it will show me the folders. Then when I click on a folder, I have to wait as a little hourglass-type slider goes across the top of the screen before it will show the contents. This can take anywhere from 2-15 seconds. I don't remember any other windows OS doing this.Is there something I can change to help speed this up? Not sure that it matters, but I checked defrag and most of my drives are less than 5% fragmented - the most being 15%.

How do I fix the files that cause the problem and cause it to need to do a scan?
I have scanned using the scan before startup and the windows scan (the one that requires restart)
If I use the scan program in Win7 it only allows me to save documents as a TIF or JPEG. Why cant I save as a PDF ?My printer is a HP 2570.
