I have in the taskbar properties "Use small icons", "Group when taskbar is full", and this value changed with regedit: Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktopWindowMetrics] "MinWidth"="40" I want to look like all the icons from Explorer the same, no matter in what folder is at the moment, look like they are all left as the yellow icon entirely. How can I do that?

I'm putting together a slide show of 3D images that I want to show on my TV next week when we have company.I would like the images to stay on the screen a little longer without having to actually create a slide show in some special application like Premiere.
The Slide Show function in Explorer works great if I can control the timing.

It goes to the point where I see windows screen, I never see a logon icon. How long should I wait ? I try to boot from CD, the same. it hangs and I never see the user icons.
I try to run the repair option from CD. It hangs at Starting setup.
All my icons is internet explore icons, and then i can't open them. How do i reset or restore as default?

I can open web pages using this package but when I save them and go into Windows Explorer they don't show. I have the option set to show hidden files so that isn't the answer. When we open our storage HD for media (flicks and TV) and other folders with files and or other folders inside the File FOLDER. the command bar shows a column for size, length, date, etc but it shows no information. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have windows 7 home premium 32bit on a pretty fast AMD phenom II x4 with 4gb ram. The problem I ahve is with windows explorer. When I click on a drive, it takes about 5 seconds before it will show me the folders. Then when I click on a folder, I have to wait as a little hourglass-type slider goes across the top of the screen before it will show the contents. This can take anywhere from 2-15 seconds. I don't remember any other windows OS doing this.Is there something I can change to help speed this up? Not sure that it matters, but I checked defrag and most of my drives are less than 5% fragmented - the most being 15%.

It seems like all my icons (including folders) are not showing up in windows explorer, taskbar, or the desktop anymore. This isn't too big a problem, but navigating through my picture library is very complicated without thumbnails. My PC is pretty heavily customized. I also cannot open the start menu from the taskbar anymore. I click the startorb and nothing appears. Screenshots
Also, while I was uploaded the three screenshots to imgur, the icons showed up on the popup to windows explorer.
I keep losing the icons in Explorer, even with a fresh install of Windows 7. It takes some time, but sooner or later they disappear. It's always Internet Explorer first (associated with .mht files) and now I've lost Chrome (associated with .htm).
Rebuilding the Windows 7 icon cache has not worked in the past.
