I have a Dell laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate. While trying to add a network printer (HP LaserJet 4250n) I got the following error message: Windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation failed with error 0x0000007e.
The printer works fine from my Windows 7 Pro desktop, and also from other laptops with Windows 7 Ultimate.
I've tried installing Microsoft's hotfix (982728), installing locally on LPT2 and running 'net use LPT2 \Computernamesharedprintername /persistent:yes', updating the driver. None of these worked.
I have two computers I want to connect to a network printer. The printer is a Konica Minolta. When I try to connect it to these computers I get:windows cannot connect to the printer operation failed with error 0x00000002 Both computers are windows 7 and previously were connected to the printer. I had to reinstall the OS on both machines thus the reason Im reconnecting the printer to them. The computers are attached to our domain. Other computers in the office are able to connect to and use this printer.
I am on a dell XPS laptop and trying to print to the network printer in my office. I can install everyother printer on the network but the main one. Add Printer finds the one I want and tries to install it but then give be a "Windows cannot connect to the printer, Operation failed with error 0x00000057" I have downloaded and installed the driver from the Toshiba website for an e-Studio 450 and copied that driver folder into the "FileRepository" folder but that didn't seem to work either.
at work we use a public calendar in Outlook 2010 that is used to book the conference room. Today multiple users (XP and Win 7) are getting this error when they try to book the conference room. The operation failed. The messaging interfaces have returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook.Restarting Outlook has not helped. So far this is only happening in the public calendar.
could anyone tell me how to fix printer spooler error? it doesn't start running. When I click start it show this "Error 1068: The dependcy service or group failed to start."
I did a Windows 7 Repair Install on my HP (G62) laptop, 64 BIT, and installed an HP Deskjet F4180 printer,it went on virtual USB001. Recently, when printing from various PDF files, I cannot print multiple pages of a document. It prints a single random page of the document, then gives printer error, and moves the document into queue, where I have to cancel the job. It seems to work OK in other application documents however. And it even seemed to work for an older small PDF file.Im running the laptop on wireless, with router configured to automatic DHCP, shows 2 devices, the laptop and the wired Desktop, and seems to be running fine. The network is set to Public.I uninstalled all HP programs, drivers, and reinstalled the latest full printer driver & software for 64 BIT from HP website. I stopped & restarted the print spooler service.I tried different USB ports, cables, connection steps.I tried HP scan utilities for fixing, and tried Windows Troubleshoot (which temporarily fixes issue for a single print job)Thru printers & devices all printer & USB drivers show up, are updated, & working. In Printer Properties, I tried printing directly to printer setting, but then NOTHING prints at all.As far as I remember the printer worked properly on my desktop, Windows 7, 32 BIT version.I also reinstalled ADOBE PDF, in case its the applications fault SFC /scannow doesnt find a problem Ive done CCleaner, DiskCleanup, CheckDisk, also no Virus, Malware detected thru the AV applications The Event viewer shows ID #602 :The print spooler failed to reopen an existing printer connection because it could not read the configuration information from the registrykeyS-1-5-21-3851181124-22741... Deskjet D4100 series. This can occur if the key name or values are malformed or missing.MS -Windows Print Service, Spooler Operation failed.I looked at the registry keys, but I dont know if they are in fact incorrect, or what to look for, what they should be ?HP support says its most likely a Windows & corrupted file or spooler service & registry (which I doubt because this is a new Repai Install !) Also, with spooler bypass it doesnt print.
Trying to restore Emachine E28 laptop. After last install disk runs I receive the following message:Restore failed. Error code = 045 (WIM ApplyImage cannot apply image. the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.)Have tried almost everything I can think of but no results.
(I was going to post this in the software section, but I assumed since it pertains to the network portion of the application and that I can connect through a VPN, that the problem is LAN Network oriented)I recently installed the software Raidcall (RaidCall-100% FREE Group Communication Software- IM, Group Communication and Voice Chat) which is a program designed to be a cross between Skype and Ventrilo. I avidly registered and the process went smoothly. That was all until I came up to login screen where after entering my information, I got the following error: Connection Failed. please try again later (Error code:23). Does this have something to do with Cyclic Redundancy Checking? That's the only information I could come up with. I've done as much research as I can think of, sent them an email with lots of information (no response as to the answer yet), and also asked on their forums but no dice.
Background information (I can provide more if needed)
- On a University Campus ( Technical Information | IT | Indiana Wesleyan University )
-I"m connected directly through to their wall. I"ve also tried swapping out my own cables to no avail.
- Have done an Error Checking Check for both drives (for CYC relation - which I think it may be the culprit (I"m not tech savy though hence my forum post)
- I CAN connect to it through a VPN (Hotshield) - obviously I don't want to have this be my way of connecting through it because I want to use Raidcall while playing (World of Warcraft) and it gives me horrible latency.
- I've called my IT support here at school, and they didn't think it would be something on their end. Although the guy on the other end did not sound intelligible at all.
I'm trying to restore Windows 7 on my computer (I'm currently using Ubuntu 11.10), and I keep getting Error Code 1005. I've tried everything, and nothing.
I have been trying to do a backup with system image since Jan 15th on an Iomega 1TB external HD. Tried about 7 times and each time the backup fails at 57%. The message I receive with each failure is as follows- "Windows backup encountered an error when accessing the remote shared file. The semaphore timeout period has expired. Details: Error code 0x81000039" I chatted with a tech from my external HD manufacturer and he finally told me that the problem was with my OS and settings. I tried doing a backup on a different external HD and still failed at 57%. I have no idea which remote shared file the program is looking for. I have a home network and one other computer. That laptop was turned on so if it was looking for a file there it was available. The tech suggested that I turn off my antivirus and firewall and if I was concerned about intrusion to disconnect from the internet. Did that and the backup still failed. I have the same setup on desktop and laptop Windows 7 SP!, Vipre antivirus and firewall, and I was able to do a backup on my laptop. Another slight problem is when I have the Iomega HD running my computer will freeze randomly. For this reason I don't keep it on all the time but just turn on for a monthly backup. I was able to do one initial backup on that HD with no problem. I was told to look at the windows backup log files but they all have a .etl extension and I do not know how to open them to see if the logs give me any idea what file it is hanging up on.
about a month I have a problem with the updates of windows 7 professional 32 bit. When I turn on the PC, Windows tries to install an update, it hangs at 35% and the pc restarts 3 times before using it. after, if I click on search updates, I have error code 8000ffff. I tried microsoft fixit but I have not resolved.
I am trying to install Microsoft Network Framework v.4 (x64) and I keep getting error "Final Result: Installation failed with error code: (0x80070643), "Fatal error during installation" (Elapsed time: 0 00:01:01)." The exact log file is attached: Code: OS Version Information:
OS Version = 6.1.7601, Platform 2, Service Pack 1 OS Description = Windows 7 - x64 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 OS Version Information
I use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. My problem is: Whenever I try to print something (word, pdf, or any other file); printer spooler stops working and when I check the Devices and Printers all the printer drivers seem to be disappeared. I checked the Print Spooler" in the Services tool; and set the "Recovery after subsequent failures" option to Restart the Service. Therefore all the printer drives coma back after 1 minute. However the spooler stops immediately again when the uncompleted printing job starts; hence I can not print anything more than a page. Earlier in this forum, someone posted that Microsoft issued a hotfix for this problem ( hotfix 2388142) which can be downloaded from article: [URL]. I downloaded this hotfix and tried to install, however it gives an error message of: The update is not applicable to your computer and quits installation. I did uninstall and reinstall all the printer drives, but this did not help either.
Im running a single Windows 7 Ultimate x86 OS on my laptop and it used to work very well till earlier today once I get back home trying to use my computer as usual to find out that it always runs the startup repair after showing the words windows is loading files instead of starting windows normally. Once the diagnostic & repair process is done it tells me that Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically. When I view the details I get the following under Root cause found:
After many times doing the previous repairs with no result I went to Command Prompt in order to check my system drive to find out that both Windows & Program Files directories are not existed there anymore. Instead, theres a Windows.old directory that contains those 2 system directories as well as Users & PerfLogs directories plus the autoexec.bat & config.sys files. Sure theres noway to use the system restore tool or anything else even using my Windows boot DVD. Still cant use the cmd commands single handedly to fix this.As I said earlier I have never faced such problem before plus I have no idea how to regain my windows since I can never format my system drive as I need to backup all the files, settings, bookmarks & favorites located in my user profile first.
I am having window xp running on that hdd but when I am trying to load windows 7 then setup recognize that my hdd having bad sectors and after running set it shows the fail operation of loading windows 7.
I have a Dell Vostro laptop running windows 7 64bit. Up until a week ago all was workinh fine and has been for some time. Then my printer stopped being recognized and Windows reported it was due to code 43. I've tried the normal options - unistall universal bus controllers, take laptop battery out etc but nothing fixes it.
I am using Windows 7 - Home Premium 64bit. There is only one user on this machine which is Administrator and this computer is not connected with any networks. I am trying to move all of User's folders to D: drive. I have successfully moved, My Pictures, My Documents, My Videos, Contacts and other folders but when I try to move "Desktop" folder, it gives me an error message at the end of the operation (after coping all the data to the new location) that "Folder Redirection Failed", "Operation was cancelled by the user". I have tried to change the location several times for this Desktop folder but every time I do it, I get this error message.
Now situation is... Data from my Desktop is present in its default location but also copied to D:UsersMyNameDesktop folder. Means, exactly the same data is placed on two different locations but default Desktop location is still at C: drive. Why I am unable to change my Desktop location? I am trying to change the location by right clicking on Desktop folder in User's folder, then Properties and then Location tab. It's exactly the same way by which I moved all of my other User's folders successfully.
I have windows 7 and keep getting a error 80072efe code while trying to download my new printer, and it will not let me, every time I use a fix says not compatible or they want to charge me?
Issue with an HP deskjet D4363. It worked just fine when I bought it in November and then just stopped. At first it would print 3 or 4 lines and then freeze. Now it does nothing and isn't even recognised by windows as a printer.I have a code 43 error unrecognised device in my device manager under usb.
I have a Desktop computer with Windows 7 (32 bit) and a laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit). I'm trying to set up a network printer, so I can print from my laptop using my desktop computeer printer. I've set up my wireless computer which uses Windows Xp just fine, and can print from that computer. But when I try to add a network printer on my laptop, as it's finishing installation, an error message pops up saying "cannot connect to printer" error code 0x0000000d. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Is it possible to set up a 64 bit with a 32 bit computer?
I have installed sage line 50 on my new computer running windows 7 and when i try to save an invoice in PDF form to email, i keep ketting printer not activated error code 30..
I was having trouble with the printer spooler stopping, finally got it fixed after 4 stressful days, went to Administrative tools, print management and deleted the print jobs that were waiting to be printed and it worked. you may have to go to services and restart your printer spooler first before it will recognize your printer.
I am not sure if this problem is due to a user account issue or a printer issue.
I cannot add a printer and all my printers from Windows XP were wiped out. I use this machine for business and I did not want to do a file and settings transfer so I updated to Vista and then updated to Windows 7 from there.
I had a bunch of printers installed including a couple of wierd ones such as a FileCabinet Printer, Adobe Acrobat Writer, CutePDF writer, etc. I don't know if these strange printer drivers affected the upgrade but now I cannot add a printer. I tried services.msc and attempted to start the spooler service, it usually is already running and its on automatic. Its not that, its something deeper than that. I also right clicked the spooler service and made sure the check box was checked for allowing the user to interact with it.
I found a Microsoft post for XP: You cannot add a printer and you receive printer spooler error messages in Windows XP
I recently bought a maxtor 500 gb external hdd and i just cant get it to work with windows 7, i got a computer at home where i want to keep it that has windows 7 rc , I have tryed everything i can think of to make it work but nothing does, I cant see it in my computer or with the explorer, but I can see it with computer management, It doesnÂt have a drive letter or NTFS and I just cant do anything to it, I cant format it then I get the error "An unexpected error has occured. check the system event log for more information on the error. Close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer".Nothing works, I cant put a drive letter to it then i get the error "The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console then restart Disk Management or restart the computer."Now im getting pretty annoyed with trying different things on it but canÂt seem to make it work, now on the other hand it does work on my laptop computer wich has Windows vista, and it works fine, also works on another computer I have that has Windows XP, can anyone please help me with this problem I would prefer to not have to format it since I did put alot of data on it from my other computers but if I have to then so be it .
