All of sudden now it says that it is not activated and when i try to re-enter my key it gives the mentioned error. Also I updated my Bios to latest. I have a Dell Vostro laptop running windows 7 64bit. Up until a week ago all was workinh fine and has been for some time. Then my printer stopped being recognized and Windows reported it was due to code 43. I've tried the normal options - unistall universal bus controllers, take laptop battery out etc but nothing fixes it.

I'm trying to set up a network printer, so I can print from my laptop using my desktop computeer printer. I've set up my wireless computer which uses Windows Xp just fine, and can print from that computer. But when I try to add a network printer on my laptop, as it's finishing installation, an error message pops up saying "cannot connect to printer" error code 0x0000000d. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Is it possible to set up a 64 bit with a 32 bit computer?

I am running Windows 7 and yesterday my wife bought an HP 3512 printer. It has wireless capabilities, so she thought it would be nice to be able to print from other computers or tablets or phones in our house.I originally had issues even getting it to connect via wireless but it is now connected to my router, has an IP address, and if I log into my router, I see its connection. The printer works fine if I have it plugged in via USB. But as soon as I unplug the cable, the printer goes offline. Now, I assumed that by wireless printer, that meant I would not even need it hooked up to my desktop. Maybe I am wrong on that though.But my main issue is I cannot get the printer shared with the homegroup. If I run the printer troubleshooting, it even tells me that the printer is not shared with the homegroup and I should try to have it shard as administrator. So I click that box then it tells me it found but could not fix the issue. It's still not shared. If I go to the printer, go to properties, then sharing, if I try to click share and apply changes, I get an error saying "printer settings could not be saved. error code (0x0000000001) or something. It simply will not go onto the homegroup. If I add it to the homegroup to be shared, would that allow me to move the printer off of my desk and unplug the USB and still be able to print?Also, still regarding Homegroups. My computer is connected via wire to my FIOS router. A laptop in the other room however, connects wireless. They somehow end up in different networks and cannot join the same Homegroup. Both run Windows 7. I have looked and cannot find why they would be on different networks. They were not always this way, I use to be able to see the laptop on my desktop but no longer can.

View 9 Replies View Relatedwhen I booted up my computer, I got a message saying "You're copy of windows is not genuine". So now the back of my desktop is black and says "Windows is not genuine". So then I downloaded the update from microsoft. Now so when I try to enter my key I get the error "0xC004F074 The Software Protection Service reported that the computer could not be activated. No Key Management Service (KMS) could be contacted. Please see the Application Event Log for additional information." So I ran my AVS and found quite a few threats and removed them. But still I get that error.

After 20 failed attempts to install windows 7 (it kept freezing at the completing installation part) it worked after i disconnected the new graphics card and one of the hard drives. View 1 Replies View RelatedIt ran in safe mode with networking so I was able to email all of the files I wanted WHEW! That was until today and now it won't load to any screen except for the screen that gives you the choice to repair, or to run windows normally. Either one brings me to the login screen but the login never comes up. The screen just sits there with the mouse. I have a dell inspiron, that we purchased 1 year and 1 month ago ergh! This means that the warranty is out. I have read so many forums, and tried to launch repair and it just won't do it. Dell won't send me a new recovery disk because I don't have the warranty anymore, but rather as others have stated Dell states that it is the hard drive as an easy answer. I don't believe it. Why does it load in safe mode, well except for today? I just need my laptop to be working. It is a life line in my house. From the things I have read on here it could be a virus or malware issue that is corrupting the boot sector. But I don't know what else to do about repairing it. The installation cds are not working. I have used f8 to load from the disk drive and it got to the starting set up and stopped.
