View 1 RepliesWhen I RDP to the machine, it will connect to my login screen. But when I type in my userID and password, it will come up with a certificate error message. It will ask whether i want to connect anyway. When I click yes, it will return to the IP address box and will not login.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy dmp file (attached). Running Windows 7 ultimate (32 bit) I've got the BSOD 3-4 times a day:
"Stop 0x00000124 (0x00000000, 0x860e0024,0xb2000000,0x00060151)".
Bought some pieces, assembled a new PC, installed Windows 7 Ultimate, then SP1, then several programs and everything seemed to be fine. But the next day, without changing anything, some programs won't start correctly, to be more precise: their processes seem to start (or at least they show up on Task Manager, but consuming only a few KB of ram and no CPU) but no program window appears whatsoever. Sometimes rebooting the PC will stop this from happening, but not always. Here I attach screenshots of CPU-Z and the customary files for debugging BSODs. Full system specs: [URL].

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use my home network to stream music and movies from my computers to my Xbox and TV. Now all of a sudden, nothing. Both computers are running Windows 7 Ultimate x64, connected online through wifi, and connected to the network homegroup (that works without any issues), but neither or them detect any of my media devices. I have a Sony Viera ST30 TV and an Xbox 360, both having wired connections to the same network that the computers are on. Features that require the internet on both work perfectly fine. And I have a viera app on my phone that I used to use to control my tv (the app may not be compatible with my phone). Even having sharing enabled on the computers, they just wont detect my TV or my Xbox. If I connect my laptop to the network via wired connection, my devices are found. If I connect to a friend's wireless network, their devices are found as well. There has been no change on either computer from the last time it was working, till now.

View 2 Replies View RelatedYeah, My laptop is downloading from somewhere.. and I don't like it..
I can tell because, I have a wireless light that flashes.. and when it flashes really fast, it means it's downloading.. but I really don't have anything that I am downloading.. It's just doing it on it's own and I'm sure I haven't got any program doing it.. It happens at random times & goes on for at least 20 minutes, sometimes longer
Is there any program I can download where I can stop my network card from downloading from a certain IP address or place.. like disable it from downloading from anywhere..?
Heres my inquiry. Just bought this laptop for the mother,
Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975
Brand Spiffy New...
So, having a tad worth of knowledge about laptops et al, i went ahead and created the necessary backups, restore cds, and the like, prior to using.
This will be sent home to my mother, who is quite fairly like all our mothers, who arent as computer savvy as we'd like our parents to be.
Anyways, tried to download CCleaner, as well as AVG, but noticed when the download window (grey old school download popup), it doesnt seem to continue.
First CCleaner says "unable to download from site, webpage not accessible blah blah blah...:
Second, AVG is STILL currently trying to do so as well.
I am also running on a wireless connection.
Browser is set to default values, nothing yet changed.
i am not able to download anything.gettin error like its not a win32 application

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a relatively new HP dvt6 pavilion laptop (quad core intel i7, 8gb of ram), and I've noticed that in the past few months it's gradually gotten slower. Granted, it's still way faster than my old laptop, but I know I likely have more things running than I should. In fact, my process explorer shows no less than 104 processes running, and I would really like to trim this down to about 40 or so. I looked through the msconfig services, but not too much jumped out at me that should be disabled, so I was hoping the wonderful people in these forums could help me out. I've run HijackThis and my log is as follows. I welcome any and all advice about what I should disable or remove with HijackThis or with msconfig.

I made a thread about this about a month ago, but I did everything I was told to do and nothing changed. This laptop is way too slow. The audio is just a big mess from the login screen and onward(really laggy and static-y). I ran some malware stuff and registry repair as suggested, in safe mode and normal mode, but nothing was fixed. After a few hours, I gave up and dual-booted Ubuntu 10.04 and it worked perfectly. Speed was excellent, audio was too. The only problem is I just use PCs for gaming and chatting, and I can't do much gaming with Ubuntu. So, any idea what could be the problem here? I even tried windirstats too see if any huge files that weren't supposed to be there were causing this, because I once had a problem on my own computer where I had this huge file that slowed down everything and wouldn't let me delete it until I did so in safe mode and then everything worked perfectly again.also, at the boot up menu, there are two loaders. one for vista, one for windows 7. windows 7 just starts up 7, while the vista loader goes to some menu thing that looks like it was booted from a disc.1.it has the options to reset to factory settings and format the C: drive 2.has the option to reset, but keep data
View 5 Replies View RelatedI run a Dell M6500 laptop with Win7.When connecting to the internet it starts downloading "stuff', sometimes after 5 or 10 minutes, which I have no control over or find out where it is coming from. I have disabled auto update and my anti virus etc. If I go to explorer for internet history the files in doc and settings are locked. I have wiped the hard drive twice and started again from scratch, no luck.I tried to load Win XP but it will not load it, is that because it is a Dell? All my software is legal, and my anti virus is updated after notifying me it is doing so. When starting from fresh without any extra programs it does it also.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm writing about my friend's computer so I don't have all the info at my fingertips. It's about two years old. I know she has Windows 7 on it. She has been having trouble for a long time with the darned thing not wanting to shut down. I'm going to quote her description to me in an email and hope that someone has some ideas. I'm trying to help her out because she is not comfortable with going into forums and doing this. "It turns off some times right away. But then a few times it sits and waits to shut off. If I close the lid it only shuts down the screen but the computer is still running. Then later it turns back on as I hear the start up tone. Then I can click off again and it shuts down. If I don't turn it off then it shuts down after it use all the power."

Everything ran fine until about 2 weeks ago. Another laptop using the same router runs OK.I completely reformatted the hard drive and installed a fresh upload of Windows. The problem was unchanged.I turned off the popup blocker. No improvement.Sometimes after the website is reached a message appears that the site is unavailable.Could there be a problem with a storage area used to receive the website data no longer being available to receive all of the data required.

They gave some good advice, to create a back up disk(s) in case any issues arise. This means I will have to get a USB-operated external DVD drive.
