motherboard emx-amd780-acc everything is fine until I added 2gb of ram to make it 6gb, ddr2 800 kingston that my pc wont start windows764bit but when I removed the 2gb stick computer it runs perfectly well,me as I know my motherboard accept thru 8gb of ram.
View 1 RepliesMy computer got the BootMGR is missing problem, which I have had in the past which is not that big. I insert the Windows 7 64 Ultimate disk it starts up everything fine, press repair my computer and it finds the installation. But when I press on it and next it has an error pop up saying "This version of system recovery options is not conpattble with the version of windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that i compatible with this version of Windows." If I dont select anything but press next it allows me to look at the screen Im supposed to, but if I go to command prompt or click autmatically repair nothing will be saved or changed. This is the same disc I installed Windows with and repaired it several times. But I did have to reset BIOS earlier so this may have affected something.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. recently my desktop started behaving wierdly. it used to freeze after 10 min else 5 min after login. ctrl alt del wouldnt work.i have to restart it again. n the same problem after 10 min.. tried all scans malware, spyware, updated all drivers, and to the end formatted the system. ( just the OS partition ) rest all the partitions unmounted. even thought the problem exist. i searched the net.... all options tried... only memtest86 for ram is pending. THE SYSTEM WORKS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT IN SAFE MODE NO HANG UPS. i have stopped all the services except from microsoft in the sartup. still it hangs.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried re-adding the appropriate reg files. I've tried fixing permissions in the registry. I've tried all the cmd line commands. I have no idea how to get this service to run. Because of this the firewall doesn't work. And also i can't open any ports on my router I'm thinking.I've used ccleaner to fix the errors in my registry, as well as sfc /scannow. I was getting some error when trying to use the Windows 7 installation disc to repair windows so I couldn't do that.I'm also not infected with zero acess rootkit becaue these aren't found on my computer.

how do I do a clean install of 64 bit windows 7 replacing 32 bit windows 7? I purchased a separate 64 bit disk. Before the Windows 7 32 bit, it was vista 64 bit, so the system is a 64 bit system. The program will not open when I double click on the icon or go into my programs to open it. I uninstalled then reinstalled it and it still does not open. I do not get any error from windows at all, it just won't open. I made sure that windows firewall was allowing the program access to my system as well as making sure norton was allowing the program access to my system. I have no idea what else to check. Why would windows not give me any type of error?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOver the past few days, my desktop computer has restarted twice randomly. Both times have been during times of low demand on the computer. The first time on 7/20/12 I was browsing the internet. The second was on 7/21/12 during a time when I left the computer idle on a browser for a phone call and came back to find my computer restarted with no information about windows updates or anything that I would expect to cause an automatic restart.I have not run into this problem before so I checked a few things which I thought may be a problem. First I did a virus scan because I have had a few problems with infections in the past. I ran several virus programs including malwarebytes, hitmanpro 3.6.0 (trial), microsoft security essentials, and spybot. After the first restart, I found a bootkit with hitman pro (Master Boot Record (Sector 0) in C:$MBR) which was deleted successfully according to the program.To be safe, I restarted and reran all the virus scans and found no further infection. I restarted another time in safe mode and ran them again and still found nothing else. However, the computer restarted today for a second time despite this infection being cleared. I reran the virus scans and found nothing again.Additionally, I loaded a hardware monitor program to check my computer temperatures and found them to be quite comfortable. My video card idle is running at 45C and my processor is running at 28C. I am running windows 7 64 bit which I installed from a disc on a desktop with an AMD Phenom II x6 1090T 3.20GHz processor, 8 GB RAM, and NVIDIA Geforce GTX 470 video card.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having issues with my computer, initially it was loading to the windows screen and would say "starting windows"(where the icon would normally swarm in and present itself). It would stop here with just the words at the bottom. One night it stayed on all night, which I eventually woke up and checked what was going on and it was stuck at a black screen. I tried restarting multiple times and it would go to a completely black screen(no mouse). Eventually I went into BIOS and selected "use fail safe defaults".This seemed to have fixed my problem... until I went to open a program and it took react very slowly with the program constantly "not responding". I decided to restart my computer. Now it will come up with either the black screen, or if I get it to to "launch" it says it is missing hardware item and lists 0xc00000e9 as the error code. Has my hard drive or memory died? I need help before I replace the wrong items entirely... I've tried reloading windows 7 multiple times now and it continues to give the same error.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy friend recently gave me his HP desktop to take a look at. It came with phenom II quad core processor, 8gb of ddr3 ram, a 1.0 TB WD sata hdd, an integrated geforce nvidia 9100 graphics card, and a 300W psu. When I first turned it on, it booted up to the HP logo and froze there not allowing me to enter the BIOS. After resetting the BIOS I was able to get a slight way into the Windows 7 installation. I tried hooking up the hdd as an external to another desktop and it seemed to be working fine.
I deleted all partitions and reformatted it and tried again, same issue. I've tried with a second hard drive, which i know works, and it also gave the same freezing problem. I've also tried using a different psu which got me a little further into the installation but eventually froze and gave me 0x00000e9 hardware error. With no hard drive at all, it can boot a few times but will eventually freeze up at the logo screen, which led me to believe it might be an overheating problem.
I applied thermal paste to both the cpu and gpu heatsinks and on the first boot it froze during installation with the next few resulting in the same logo screen freeze. I've also realized the gpu heatsink is extremely hot to the touch and at one point, after numerous reboots, the display wouldn't even show. I don't wanna jump to the conclusion that the gpu is fried and buy a new motherboard without consulting anyone.
I currently do not have any internal optical drive, but I do have a USB optical drive instead. Would it be possible to boot up Windows 7 from the external drive in the UEFI Bios? This is for a new computer without a formatted hard drive, if it helps.

I put my computer on hibernate like i always do then went to finish my essay and it wouldn't start it just stayed on a black screen saying starting windows yet the flag wasn't appearing. I did the memory test and the diagnostic the only test that failed was the hard drive 1. I've tried launching the repair but it just stays on a blue screen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that windows 7 won't start on my computer, it keeps saying "bootmgr missing, press ctrl+alt+delete to restart" (this is not 100% word for word but it is what it means), here is a little background of what is going on:So I bought a 500GB WD hard drive, the reason why I bought this new hard drive was because my dad's old computer (the one he gave me cause I needed one for school) did not come with one (he took his old hard drive cause it had his work in it). After that, I took just the my new drive to my friend's house to format the hard drive to NTFS format, and I made 3 partitions, 'x', 'y' and 'z', with 150GB, 150GB and 200GB respectively.After that, I downloaded Windows7 from a microsoft sponsored website for free (because I am an engineering student at a university), and I am 100% certain that this website is good because I have downloaded from it before and it worked perfectly fine on my mac (I installed windows 7 on my mac using boot manager).
I installed windows7 to this new hard drive (partition 'x'), and everything went fine, set up computer name, copy some school files into the new drive.Now here is the problem, when I take it home and try to run from my computer (with only this WD 500GB drive in it, it is the only one I got), it doesn't work, I googled some solutions and found out that I had to set one of the partitions as active, so I went back to my friend's house and set partition 'x' as active (the partition where I installed windows7, partition 'y' and 'z' are just to store files, maybe I'll install Linux in the near future).After that, I disconnected all of his hard drives with only mine left connected to the computer, nothing was changed in the Bios, when we try to boot up with only my hard drive in it, it says "bootmgr missing, press ctrl+alt+delete to restart", which makes absolutely no sense.I connected his hard drive back, and once we boot the computer it asks us which windows to boot from, we selected mine and it boots up just fine. View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst off my power supply went out. It was a 450watt one I ordered and replaced it with a 750watt power supply. After I replaced the power supply, my computer would not boot, When the power supply went out it was in the middle of updating windows. So I formatted the hard drive and did a clean install of windows, reloaded all my drivers and extra programs. At that point my computer was running great.
I decided to uninstall Bing tool bar, and windows live sign in assistant. it prompted my to reboot. When I rebooted the computer, after about 30 minutes it still had not come up to the desktop, I could boot up in safe mode and it would run fine. I did a system restore, no change, I did a start up repair, no change, Tested the memory it came back fine.
At that point and reformatted the hard drive again, I had another hard drive formatted it and put the install CD in and after 8 hours it is still trying to install Windows 7, No errors just really really slow. So I have replaced the power supply, hard drive, and ran a memory test with no errors, done a clean install of windows. Running Windows 7 64 bit, 4 gig of Ram, 2.8 dual core processor, 1 gig video card, 500 gig hard drive.
My computer crashed while performing an update I think. I saw that it was performing updates so I went to do something else. When I came back computer was off. I tried to turn it on but it gets to the screen where I usually enter my password and stops there (before the login window appears)

Also ran a memory diagnostics tool. It says that no problems were detected but I can't see the actual results because they are displayed after I log on but I don't get there
Yesterday evening, 14 Dec., when shutting down the computer, 10 updates were received. This morning, 15 Dec., when booting up for the first time, I was presented with the green screen that said "Preparing to Configure Windows. Do not turn off your computer." It has been sitting there like that for over an hour and a half. I think something may have gone wrong
