Why Dvd's Fail To Burn / Close Out While Playing A Game
Jun 18, 2012why dvd's fail to burn/close out while playing a game?if the video resolution flickers in ANY way out of "standard" bounds (like odd resolutions for older games) the dvd just quits burning light goes off.the best thing i can play on my rig is angry birds space.i have tried this with several burning proggys and different games,with always the same result; lock up of the burner and or program hard reset required,or the burn light simply goes off and the program is 'hung' but can be ejected.another thing too is when i insert a dvd to burn i will NOT burn unless auto-run pops up, THEN i start the program i want to burn with AFTER and ONLY after the auto-run appears, but that is 80% of the time. seriously, this is a brand new machine, actually there are 3 brand new custom machines in my house and have swapped burners, video cards - you name the combo, i have done it.

Dec 21, 2011my CD drive will not burn any CD, it reads them ok when i put in an audio cd or a driver CD but everytime i try to burn something it fails. Is is very loud when tryin to do this and seems to be reving up and stoppin before it spits out the CD. I have tried burning with Nero, what i always use and also tried WMP and got the same result. Could the disk drive be broke?? is there a command i can run in cmd maybe like chkdsk to check it??

As this was a personal religious event we took service of professional photographer who shoot the event using his digital camera and converted it to image on his computer. he burned image on DVD . I can play DVD on traditional DVD player Though the disk is full my computer drive recognize it as blank DVD. There are total 41 DVDs and some of the DVDs are recognized and can be played on computer. My DVD writer (on PC)is in good condition. The DVD which shows blank on my computer is shown full on photographe's computer.Unfortunately he could only told me that he has transfered this event from his camera disk to computer using some new HD technology. According to him some configuration changes required on my computer. His computer also run on window 7. Also same photographer did this same event recording for me three years ago and all these DVDs play well on my computer?

Aug 16, 2011All right, so I recently bought a new computer (it was refurbished)
I've done a lot of tweaking on it already, I installed a new video card and put in a new power supply unit. I am also dualbooting into both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.04. On my windows 7 boot, I installed oblivion. Fully installed it on the first try, then after a small issue concerning mods, I had to re-install. It reinstalled fine, but then I realized that I had installed it overtop all the files from the mods (in C:/.../oblivon). So I had to reinstall again. No big deal I though. Well! Now it is giving me a ton of problems.
During the install it gives me the error 0x80070017 and says it can't install. I looked up the error on google and it says that it's data corruption. It happens every time! I've rebooted, uninstalled / reinstalled other games, triple checked that there was nothing in C:/oblivion, everything I can think of.

Set up a virtual machine of Windows 98 (preferably 98 SE) using something like VirtualBox (ensure you have a copy of Windows 98 handy as well...). Install and play from there.

Oct 24, 2009I've got two retail copies of Test Drive Unlimited, first one is the old one and the second one is the one with car megapack.
Anyway, game works great, wheel also, the only thing that fails is multiplayer.
I can create an GS account but ALWAYS when i login i get an information about server being non available.
I have a router, i tried forwarding the ports but it was the same. I disabled my firewall, uninstalled any application that may have caused this, but it still doesn't work.
Im trying to connect since two months, im kinda desperate right now. Everything was working fine on Vista and XP.
Does anyone have similar problem? Is there any fix?

That wouldn't be a problem except Windows 7 prevents the game from creating the shortcuts it would have created had the operating system not been Windows 7- things like the game's Read Me, Uninstaller & Configuration options.

May 11, 2011I'm using Samsung laptop with TSSTcorp CD/DVD TS-L633J recorder. Windows 7 x86_64. Can any tell me what are the possible problems (and solutions) of my CD/DVD burner? I bought this new laptop from Dubai, so even if I do have warranty, I can't use it here in my country Philippines, since warranty is exclusively for Dubai only. My CD/DVD drive can easily play DVDs (even the blank one) without any hassle. Unfornately, it can't read blank CDs unless there are already files burned in it. It can reformat CD-RW, but once the CD became blank, it can't read it anymore. Same thing happens to when I try to burn files on a DVD. It appears that it is burning, but when it finishes, it suddenly gets an unexpected error. I tried all types of disk like DVD+R, DVD-R, CD-R and CD-RW, but it allends the same. My CD/DVD burner cannot burn disks.
I already uninstalled the drive, but it's all the same. I run "Fix it", but it gets an unexpected error and won't scan the drive.

Jun 4, 2012I have burned CD's and DVDs before no problem. Now I get a window 'Error - there was a problem burning this disc' after maybe 2 minutes of building the image file. Using the built in burn appl in 7 Pro. DVD +R disc is fine, doesn't begin to even burn. Can't be hardware because it's worked fine before. Can't be intermittent as I haven't removed/touched any internals. Tried making the pagefile larger, to match ram of 2GB ( min 2048, max 4000). Same. Lots of room on the hard drive. Can't believe it would be because data is 3.64 GB because 7 should just use the hard drive if it runs out of ram.

It has the ability to be able to boot several types of ISO images ranging from Linux Ubuntu, Windows, Hirens Boot CD, to HP Automatic Firmware update, even Acronis! and more.plus its free! how to figure out which type of boot to choose by browsing contents after mounting the image and then configure this program with the proper settings. I did find something that said Windows, but its a folder. Not only that but as I've said I've tried several different USB to DVD tools, all of them windows and none of them worked.

I ran the Microsoft FixIt application but it did not resolve the problem. Fresh install of windows 7. Brand new cdr's. Also, when I insert a blank CD, it doesn't show up in My Computer, however if I insert a CD with data on it(or music), it shows up. Also should point out I have VirtualCloneDrive installed.

Nov 15, 2011not using Windows DVD Maker or nero as of right now im using nero but it always loads when i boot up and there are tons of stuff thats not needed only thing i use it for is to burn data to dvds mainly avi to watch on my tv using my dvd player Windows DVD Maker takes to much of the time on the dvd only 150 min. per a dvd when i use nero im able to burn 3-4 videos to a dvd is there a way to change the time into gbs in Windows DVD Maker are is there a software that would just do the job im looking to do im going to try imgburn and see how the playback is with that
