I encountered a BSOD while just browsing the internet, I managed to get the STOP code of 124 though before it cleared. I HAVE been having some issues with my HDD not maintaining constant speeds during file transfers, so maybe its a HDD problem?

This is on a recent clean install. I've run memtest86 10 passes with no errors, ran a system scan, and checked both hard drives with the integrated windows software. DriverAgent says I have only one outdated driver.
SF Diag Tool zip should be attached.

i am in dire need of some help with my pc. I am experiencing numerous BSOD issues. It started out whilst gaming with Battlefield 3 but is now happening all the time weather it be browsing the internet or just doing nothing. (If it helps firefox is crashing all the time). the computer is 10 months old and ran fine up until recently.I have had page fault, memory management, NTFS fault, bad pool, system exception.I have reviewed the forums and tried all the usual fixes, which goes along these lines:I used memtestx86 on my ram and found i had a dead stick so i purchased new 2 x 2G OZ 1333mhz, tested them for 20hrs and when they tested fine replaced the old sticks. Great i thought sorted, alas no.I removed AVG as one of the dmp files indicated it was that.nope carried out a chkdsk / r which showed no errors I removed all my nvidea drivers as they were being indicated but no its now worse than ever.I have attached the minidump files i have had over the past two days.

A while ago I had some bluescreens with the error-code F4 which I could fix by updating the SSD firmware (from 1.3.0 to 1.3.3). But since then, I sometimes have a bluescreen with the errorcode 101. The bluescreens only appear while I'm playing Battlefield 3 or sometimes when I currently play nothing; in other situations my pc just freezes and I have to use the power button. With Google I found out, that this bluescreen is caused by an error with the processor, so I ran Prime95 and watched the temperatures with SpeedFan. The temperature of the second core was 98C so I started logging the temperature. After another bluescreen I looked in the logfile but the temperature was only around 40C. So it seems that nothing overheats (which is also proved by the fact that the bluescreens appears while nothing runs that stresses the hardware alot).

I am trying to rectify the error with windows update. Everytime I try to update it tells me it is checking for updates...Then "To check for updates, you must first install an update for Windows Update. Your automatic Updating settings will not change." I click Install now and get "Window could not search for new updates"An error occured while checking for new updates for your computer. Error(s) Found Code 80070643 Windows Update encountered an unknown error.
This problem first came to light a year ago when I downloaded a windows update that was corrupt. It forced the computer to loop the autocheck upon boot and could only be started in safe mode or by canelling the check. After looking through the forums I found an interim fix which disabled the autocheck and since have always recieved the message upon restarting "Autocheck program not found".I naturally thought this issue would be resovled in the next update and or a future fix.I had to go away for work at the start of this year and when I got back and windows updated it still had the autocheck message.Recently I have been unable to update at all due to the aforementioned error. The simplest soultion it would seem would be to do a system restore, this I have tried however every possible point seems to have a corrupt file on it.I ran a scan using Malwarebytes and found nothing.I don't want to format as the programs came pre installed and that would mean taking to back to the shop.

For about a month or so I've been getting various BSOD messages. I have ran "chkdsk" and it came back with everything being okay. I've ran "SFC SCANNOW" everything came back fine. I waned to run a few more tests (like the ones testing RAM, but with my computer not really turning on for that long now it seems like it might be too hard to do) From what I've noticed in the dump files I think "USBPORT.sys" and "usbohci.sys" are the main problems, but I could be wrong. I'm not really sure what to do now. It's got to the point where it takes a lot of attempts to just log into my computer and even then it doesn't stay on for long (no more than an hour now). I kind of gave up on everything and decided that installing debian as another OS is the next option. I reset my computer back to factory settings but no luck, I'm still getting the error! For the record I've had this computer for just over a year now, and everything seemed to be fine until recently and now it just seems to keep going downhill. I also can't give you the more recent dump files because my computer would end up BSODing half way though getting them all together, but I do have some recentish ones and it seems to be the same problems happening. However earlier today I got the 3B error which I haven't really got much before.

I've been getting a series of BSODs on my laptop recently. It appears they only occur while uTorrent is running - which is rather puzzling seeing how I've used it for months without issues and I have made no changes to it recently (it also takes some time after the start of the program for Windows to crash, so I'm not entirely sure uTorrent is really the culprit.)Incidentally I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on my 1.5 years old laptop. Windows came preinstalled and has been reinstalled by the Sony support less than 5 months ago (together with a new HD and motherboard)[CODE]

I'm trying to install MS Office on a Sony laptop running Windows 7. However, at the beginning of the installation I'm getting the following error:Error 1321. Unable to modify and/or find c:windowsinstaller. Please ensure it exists in your system.Well, I couldn't find it, so I'm assuming its not there or hidden somehow(?). Plus I noticed that it didn't give me a specific filename that the install was having problems with.... shouldn't there be a filename after the installer directory?I decided to try and find the installer program and have found versions for everything but Windows 7....Not sure which version I should use or what the filename would be....They couldn't make it simple like Use this for Windows 7....

I've had these problems for a few months so I just started using our shared family computer, and recently I haven't been able to get access to it that often. Because I had so many problems with my computer, I tried clean installing it, which helped for around a month. Now it is back to BSODS. The error code I mainly get is the 0x00000A.
System Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium x32 bit Build 7600
Processor:AMD Athlon(tm) II x4 635 Processor, 2.90 GHz
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5570
Memory: 2040MB RAM
Motherboard: M4A78LT-M LE
The OS came in-built with the computer, but since then I've re-installed it around 5 times.

upgrade my system from Windows XP Pro SP3. The setup starts and gets past creating a user account, setting a computer name etc and then restarts and looks like Windows 7 is going to startup and then I get a BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH with:
STOP: C000021a [Fatal System Error}
The intial session process or system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000000 (0xC0000001 0x00100400)
It then mentions about dumping the memory out to disk and reboots. If i press F8 and attempt to boot SAFE MODE I get a requester saying that setup cannot be completed in Safe Mode. If try the startup recovery the first time it says it fixed a problem and wants to restart again but it has fixed nothing. Next time the startup recovery just runs and doesn't appear to finish.
I have run the Windows Memeory Diagnostic within the setup and memory checks out fine. I initially thought the onboad audio chipset was the issue and disabled that but it made no difference. I did get one successful installation but it eventually crashed and burned with the same error after approximately 12 hours.

I really apologize for the vague title, all I can say about these BSOD's are that they've occurred with increasing frequently over the past week, and are seemly random. I have noticed that they happen more often whenever Shockwave crashes in Chrome and does not recover. I've also noticed that I get a BSOD whenever I attempt a full scan using Spyware Doctor. Otherwise, these BSOD's really just happen wherever, whenever.

i just bought a new Asus laptop a few months ago everything seemed well until it started crashing saying that it faield to initialize video drive.i tried a couple of methods using gparted testdsk chkdsk,it wont boot into safe mode but i managed to boot from cd.
I tried all tools from system recovery like startup repair system restore and none seem to work also i get a message in the system recovery box Operating system:Unknown on(Unknown)Local Disk
my laptop is an asus k53s model with a 750hdd ntfs format i used gparted to make new partitions out of the 750hdd.
Nothing seems to work and id rather not make a clean install because i have very important files on it that i cant afford to lose.
Also when i boot into gparted i can see all partitions, but yellow triangle with a ! is shown near my C partition where i have windows installed.I have no idea what to do to make it see my C:

A while back, after successfully downloading and installing some updates in the Windows Update, it prompted me to restart the computer to finish the update installation process. However, I continued to use the computer for quite some time before restarting it, and then when it tried to configure the updates on the start-up screen, it showed that it was not successful in doing so. In the past, I noticed that this would typically happen when I did not restart the computer immediately (or within a short time) after the updates finished and I got the prompt to restart. I would have to go to Windows Update and do it over again, and then upon immediate restart, it would always work properly. But this time, it did not, and I keep getting the 8000FFFF error message instead.
Also, now, every time I start the computer, it shows that it's "Preparing to configure Windows... Do not shut off computer" (presumably the updates that never got completely and correctly configured) in the start-up screen... gets to 35%..fails... shuts down (screen goes black)... restarts again... tries to configure again, fails again, shuts down and restarts again... tries to configure again, fails again, and finally it apparently gives up and says "reverting changes" and finally goes to the desktop.I've looked at the answers in several threads at the answers.microsoft.com forum that were started by people with similar problems, and also tried several of the Microsoft "FixIt" files on the Microsoft site, but none of them worked. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium.

So, after going through every trick in the book, I was unable to make browsing happen on a 64bit Windows 7 (any and every browser would randomly hang the system completely), so my only option was to switch to 32bit.The first installation failed and got stuck in a black screen with a frozen cursor. After a restart the installer told me I could continue the installation after a reset, so I did that, only to be greeted with the same message. This happened over and over a few times, so I figured it's not going to work and I'll have to make a fresh install. Then something mysterious happens and I'm not yet sure what exactly happened. In any case, the end result was that I still had some of my 64bit installation remaining including some files I downloaded while trying to make it work in addition to my 32bit installation on my other drive (which I was not planning on formatting). The only explanation I can come up with is that I somehow managed to format the wrong drive, not once, but twice.
And this is where my current problem begins. I'd very much like to format the drive with the 64bit stuff, but Windows won't let me. I've tried doing it from the command prompt but it says "Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges. You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode." I'm the system admin! How can I not have sufficient privileges? And what is "elevated mode"? Ok, so on we go to the Disc Manager. This time I'm greeted with "Windows cannot format the system partition on this disk.".Actually, now that I think about it, I suppose booting from the CD might do the trick. Still, for some reason the installer takes its time starting (was much faster in for the 64bit version) and I'm getting tired of playing with the boot order, anyway. So, I'm wondering if there is any way to format a disc with system files from another Windows installation without going through the CD boot.

After running first XP and than Vista on my rig I ghosted the Vista (x64) install yesterday and formatted for Win 7 (RC). All installed just fine and appears stable as long as I do nothing. I haven't installed any supplier drivers, but run from Win 7 integrated drivers only. I went on with updating through Win Update with everything there was and then went on to the typical utility stuff (i.e. Flash, Acrobat Reader etc.).
My issue is that on SOME web pages my computer now go straight to blue screen of death memory dumping. An example of such a page is Nvidia's (nvidia.com), which will send me straight to BSOD as soon as the name is resolved and I have a title. ^^
I tried restoring to a system restore point prior to all 3rd party installs (such as Flash), but I have no different behavior. I am about to try a clean install to see if it persists, but I am curious as to if anyone else has seen or heard of this tiny issue before and has any interesting theories on it?
And to clarify; no Asus drivers were installed and no the BIOS is not updated, but on the other hand - if it was BIOS incompatability I would kinda expect some generela stability issues, not connected to sepcific home pages.
Any ideas? Aliens in my RAM? Microsoft censoring the internet? Computer come alive and has a taste of its own?
