I have attempted to update windows 7 with the :Security update for windows 7 for X64 systems (KB2619339) with only failed results.the error code is : 8007065E I have CBS logs WINDOWS resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
I am using Windows 7 Home Premium on a 64 bit operating system. I haven't used this computer in over a year, but my brother has been using it since, but hasn't kept it updated at all or with any anti-virus. I was able to install everything on Windows Update except Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2621440). I've tried everything from simply restarting, rebooting in safe mode and safe mode with networking (I could not open windows update either of those ways), and doing a safe mode with networking full scan with Malewarebytes Anti-Malware, Super Anti Spyware, and Microsoft Security Essentials. I did find 2 trojans and removed them and rebooted, but was unable to install this security pack still. When I tried installing the individual version of the security pack online, it told me the update did not apply to this system. I also tried running the windows update repair tool. I made a separate administrator account and downgraded my own account to a standard user, but I'm unable to demote my brother's administrator account. His is not password protected, but there is no option to change the account type, even when I'm logged on as him or under the other administrator account I just made.
A while back, after successfully downloading and installing some updates in the Windows Update, it prompted me to restart the computer to finish the update installation process. However, I continued to use the computer for quite some time before restarting it, and then when it tried to configure the updates on the start-up screen, it showed that it was not successful in doing so. In the past, I noticed that this would typically happen when I did not restart the computer immediately (or within a short time) after the updates finished and I got the prompt to restart. I would have to go to Windows Update and do it over again, and then upon immediate restart, it would always work properly. But this time, it did not, and I keep getting the 8000FFFF error message instead.
Also, now, every time I start the computer, it shows that it's "Preparing to configure Windows... Do not shut off computer" (presumably the updates that never got completely and correctly configured) in the start-up screen... gets to 35%..fails... shuts down (screen goes black)... restarts again... tries to configure again, fails again, shuts down and restarts again... tries to configure again, fails again, and finally it apparently gives up and says "reverting changes" and finally goes to the desktop.I've looked at the answers in several threads at the answers.microsoft.com forum that were started by people with similar problems, and also tried several of the Microsoft "FixIt" files on the Microsoft site, but none of them worked. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium.
I am trying to rectify the error with windows update. Everytime I try to update it tells me it is checking for updates...Then "To check for updates, you must first install an update for Windows Update. Your automatic Updating settings will not change." I click Install now and get "Window could not search for new updates"An error occured while checking for new updates for your computer. Error(s) Found Code 80070643 Windows Update encountered an unknown error.
This problem first came to light a year ago when I downloaded a windows update that was corrupt. It forced the computer to loop the autocheck upon boot and could only be started in safe mode or by canelling the check. After looking through the forums I found an interim fix which disabled the autocheck and since have always recieved the message upon restarting "Autocheck program not found".I naturally thought this issue would be resovled in the next update and or a future fix.I had to go away for work at the start of this year and when I got back and windows updated it still had the autocheck message.Recently I have been unable to update at all due to the aforementioned error. The simplest soultion it would seem would be to do a system restore, this I have tried however every possible point seems to have a corrupt file on it.I ran a scan using Malwarebytes and found nothing.I don't want to format as the programs came pre installed and that would mean taking to back to the shop.
I am running windows 7 OS. Updates are available, however when I try to update all updates install except one for Security. Net framework and I get an error 643. It suggested installing windows update readiness installer, which I did, but I get the same error.
This has been going on for a couple of weeks. Every time I shut down my laptop, it TRIES to Update. I finally realized that something is wrong. I went into the Update folder in Control Panel and looked at the "update history" to find that every time I shut down, the update attempts have "failed".The error code is 66A. I tried the "Windows Fix-It" and it didn't work. I don't know what to try next. The three update items are for NET.Framework 4.
I am trying to install the "Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems KB2718704)," however, whenever I try to install it, I get the 800B0100 Error Code. I have tried using Windows Update to do it automatically, and I have also tried to manually install it by downloading it from the Microsoft website; neither method has workedAlso, this the TSG SysInfo log:Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bitProcessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2310 CPU @ 2.90GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 42Stepping 7Processor Count: 4RAM: 6056 MbGraphics Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics, -1988 MbHard Drives: C: Total - 939685 MB, Free - 620803 MB; F: Total - 476937 MB, Free - 263103 MB;Motherboard: Dell Inc., 0GDG8YAntivirus: AVG Internet Security 2011, Updated and Enabled
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on a dell laptop ( which is wireless) About 95% of my automatic updates fail with the code "800B0100" tried the "fix it" from MS, no luckI try to download the "system rediness update tool" from MS but keep getting a page not found prompt. I turned off the windows and McAfee wirewall, but that didn't help either. I'm using a Netgear N600 router. Maybe it has a firewall. It's just a Windows problem though, all other updates ( McAfee, Adobe, etc.) work ok.
No updates on this computer..[i know that all updates were installed] updates won't install..tried a bunch of repair suggestions, but no work, maintenance : back-up, check for updates & troubleshooting system maintenance 'status not available'. I tried to run sfc/scannow but said 'could not start repair service'. Somewhere I ran into error code '80080005'. Windows 7 ultimate x64. This all started when a friend opened her mail on my computer..
I got windows update error with error code 80080005. I tried NETSH WINSOCK RESET as Noel said in the other post, I changed the window update setting, I deleted all the files in C:WindowsSoftwareDistribution as someone has suggested, and uninstalled Malawarebytes (antispyware) and Norton (antivirus) softwares....ran fix it from microsoft which says error fixed...still the same error message from the windows update. I did, however, got the latest windows defender update installed. As of now my windows update main page shows the following: Most recent check for updates: Never Updates were installed: Never
and error message: Windows could not search for new updates, an error occurred while checking for new updates for your computer with the error code 80080005.
When checking for windows updates I get a notice that windows update must be updated. It tries to load update agent 7.6.7600.256 which fails and retries fails also. I can download some Win updates and apply manually and they did work. I tried running the Microsoft Fix It program and it didn't help. I ran the System Update Readiness Tool and it didn't help I am getting the same error 8007371B.
I have been trying to update these 4 updates for office 2003.Security Update for Microsoft Office 2003 (KB2509503). Security Update for Microsoft Office Excel 2003 (KB2502786).Security Update for Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 (KB2464588). Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB2522981)
Whenever I try to install any of the updates it goes through the whole process until the very end, and gives me the error code of 80070643. Does anyone have a solution for this problem, I have been searching on and off for the past couple weeks and cant find anything.
I'm working on a Brand New Dell Inspiron 1525 with W7 OS. I was in the middle of catching it up on all the updates and they went in fine except it when it got to Service Pack 1, It will not install SP1. I receive the error code: 800B0100 I also went thru the steps of "Get help with this error" and it went thru "Windows Update troubleshooter" said the problem was "fixed", however still failed the next 4 tries, any suggestions? THX!!!
This has to do with a windows update that wouldn't install and keeps giving me an error code(800FO203). The update is for Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. No matter what I do it wouldn't install. (Disabled firewall, antivirus, contacted Realtek).
I have two machines, desktop and laptop, both running Windows 7 Build 7600 (64-bit and 32-bit respectively) that just started getting the "Code 80070005" message when running Windows Update. I have seen many others with this issue (apparently it used to be an issue with Vista) but it's surfacing again on Windows 7. I have tried any of the proposed fixes, Rebuilding the "C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution"Running the SubInACL tool to repair file and registry permissionsDisabling the firewall (Windows Firewall) and anti-virus (Avast Home) without any effect.Does anyone have a reliable fix yet? I'd rather not reformat both machines just because there's an incorrect setting somewhere.
about a month I have a problem with the updates of windows 7 professional 32 bit. When I turn on the PC, Windows tries to install an update, it hangs at 35% and the pc restarts 3 times before using it. after, if I click on search updates, I have error code 8000ffff. I tried microsoft fixit but I have not resolved.
I have Windows 7 Pro 64bit set to automatically update the OS. Three days ago I lost connectivity on my shared home network that uses a Netgear WN2000RPTv2 wireless extender to connect to my Ruku which had worked perfectly to stream movies. (Amazon Prime). When I began to check out the systems for possible errors, I noticed that there had been updates for Netgear, several optional and one recommended. All failed with the error code of 80070103. I've tried unplugging my routers, did a hard restart to factory defaults, etc., all resulting in no change to the systems. The desktop pc connected to it is as follows:
