I tried to look for a solution online and in this forum and I kinda failed...Anyway - I don't know if it has anything to do with the problem, but I recently changed the battery from one that wasn't working properly for quite a while.
View 3 RepliesToday when I turned on my laptop, suddenly, there was a message that my battery has problems so the computer might shut down suddenly. I tried different strategies, like uninstalling the battery driver, or letting the computer completely die. When it turned off itself at 6%, I turned it back on, and it was at 2 minutes battery life. Then in a few minutes, it said 4 minutes battery life for 6%. Now, it's passed an hour, and it says 3 minutes, but changes sometimes to 1-4 minutes. The battery meter is completely wrong, and I don't know what to do since it is closing the computer way too early. I'm still not sure what the problem is.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen my laptops battery reaches critical it will usually hibernate as all of them do. When it's switched back on it'll give you the option to do a system resume. The past 3 times it hasn't though, it has brought up the black screen saying windows didn't shut down properly, and giving me the options to start in safe mode etc.

I searched the net on things to do before "throwing in the towel" on my battery and today i came across a blog where the instruction was to uninstall the Microsoft ACPI compliant control method battery driver. I did just that and my battery suddenly worked! well sort of. now here's where it gets all weird.every time i open my laptop i do the following:1. plug in AC to laptop.. turn on laptop.3. unplug AC.3. laptop runs on battery.4. log on to windows.5. battery icon shows up as an empty charging icon then shows the "Battery is not detected" icon again.please take note that my laptop is still ON and WORKING. so this means (MAYBE?) that my battery is working.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently I noticed my CPU being pushed to 100% by a trojan (igfxupdate) though not knowing the cause of the usage I simply tried restarting the computer, though when the computer restarted my CPU Meter was gone. I have now completely removed the virus but my CPU Meter never showed up. It isn't in my list of gadgets and it doesn't reappear when I click restore gadgets, however, it seems to have all of it's files (in my windows siderbar folder). So I am at a loss as to how to fix it and I can't simply reinstall it because it comes with windows. I was really a big fan of this gadget and now that it helped me catch this virus I feel naked without it. I know I can download a different CPU Meter but I like the simplicity and reliability of the windows one?

I use a Software called Fruity Loops for Music Programming. I had created a project 4 months ago with this software. It worked fine then. The CPU consumption to play my program live was Nominal.I opened the same project a couple of weeks ago, and the project wouldnt even play.It drags... CPU shoots up and system shuts downI removed all the unncessary programs that I had installed on my machine. I still face the problem.The problem first occured, when I used Adobe Audition to remove noise from a recording.

If I try to launch sidebar.exe, it will appear as shown in picture. If I close this window, sidebar.exe will be terminated as well. I've tried deleting the gadget cache but it seems not working.

Whenever I certain gaming program run in the background (not in focus) the applications seem to shift back and forth from from "Running" and "Not Responding" almost like it constantly refreshes itself (every 3 or so seconds). However, if I keep one of those programs in focus, the problem doesn't occur as often. The task bar always seems to be moving as a result of this (almost doing a dance if I open enough programs that have this problem).I've tried updating drivers, installed all service packs, scanned computer with Malware Bytes, Norton.I'm using Windows 7, 64 bit 6.1 (7061), ATI Mobile Radeon HD 5650

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've never had this issue up until today. I manually shutdown my laptop at the log-in screen and from there all my issues began. When I started up my system the "Windows Reboot Manager" popped up which had never popped up before so I just chose Windows 7 and it began up just fine. Well once I got to the log-in page I typed in my password. It was a no go and after using the keypad it worked just fine. Well when I opened up Microsoft Word 2007 to see what the issue was I discovered that by pressing specific number keys it would include a letter.

It's not a constant thing - usually several minutes pass between refreshes - and I'm not entirely sure what's triggering it or why it keeps on happening, still less how to go about fixing it. A scheduled system scan for viruses last night came up negative, so did a quick scan I ran this evening. On the advice of a user in another thread about the same issue, I've also downloaded Malwarebytes and ran a full scan using that.

If I create a folder in desktop, or paste a file or folder to the desktop I only can see it if I hir refresh!!! For example if the trash bin is "full" and I "empty" it....ihe icon will be the "full" one! Only after I hit refresh the new state (empty in this case) will be seen!
View 3 Replies View RelatedNow, everytime I try to login in the control panel of a game I play -> link, the page just refreshes and I won't be logged in. This only seems to happen for Google Chrome, I tried it on Firefox and I could get in just fine.
This is also a newly-built and freshly installed computer, not even a week's age yet. This is also the first time I'll be on Windows 7, my old PC was Win XP, and I could login the site using Chrome just fine, so I'm inclined to say it's the OS, but my friend has Win7 too and he could get in just fine.

I think its a conflict. Oh yes 1 more thing, when i click out of the window, it goes back to normal, when i click on the window again, it starts refreshing again non-stop.

On booting up the following morning, it tries to install them but fails to do so and reverts to previous installation. This has happened two days running. I was able to load XP back on alright, but when I went to use the upgrade discs to 7 is when I ran into problems. When I put the disc in it says loading files, and there is a progress bar at the bottom, and when that's done I get the "starting windows" text but Windows never starts.
