Windows 7 ACPI Doesn't Detect Battery But Battery Is Working?

I have an ASUS K50IE laptop that i had for 2 years now. been working fine until 2 days ago.this problem has been bugging me for the last 2 days. here's why.my laptop suddenly didn't detect my battery. thought it was because my battery was dead. I searched the net on things to do before "throwing in the towel" on my battery and today i came across a blog where the instruction was to uninstall the Microsoft ACPI compliant control method battery driver. I did just that and my battery suddenly worked! well sort of. now here's where it gets all weird.every time i open my laptop i do the following:1. plug in AC to laptop.. turn on laptop.3. unplug AC.3. laptop runs on battery.4. log on to windows.5. battery icon shows up as an empty charging icon then shows the "Battery is not detected" icon again.please take note that my laptop is still ON and WORKING. so this means (MAYBE?) that my battery is working.

I'm having problems when my laptop goes to sleep, I'm not sure what happens but when my battery is low, it goes to sleep but doesn't wake up even if I plug the charger in. The only way I can get this fix is to restart it by shutting it down through the power button.

I have installed Windows 7, on my Vaio VGN-SZ660N and I`m having lots of difficulties with installing its new drivers.I can not install Windows Shared Library, So My Function keys do not work any more and more important I do not have my "Battery Care Function" any more which resulted in damage of my battery.where I can get "working drivers" for my Model? Because the ones on the Sony website do not seem to be working...

My laptop was hacked and infected and I could not install an antivirus or install or run any program, I also tried to create a System Recovery Point and It didn't let me make one.
So I decided to install again windows 7 from safe mode, everything was Ok installation was on 60% when my computer battery died, now it don't let me complete the installation from my DVD. It said:
"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation" no matter how many times I restart/shut down.
I also tried f4 and f8 options:
- WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER
setup rolback
-ADVANCED BOOT OPTIONS
-safe mode
-safemode with networking
-safe mode with command prompt
-enable boot logging
-last known good configuration
-directory services restore mode
-start windows normally
-WINDOWS ERROR RECOVERY
* launch startup repair(recommended)
*start windows normally
-STARTUP MENU
F9 boot device options
f11 system recovery
I tried all of these options and nothing work now it is only restarting and sending me again and again to the same listed options.

I have a Battery Back Up made by APC which came with software and I installed the software. Needless to say this software controls the functions of the back up,ie: How long to leave the computer on in case of power failure so that Windows may be shut down without loss of data. Somewhere, I think I read that it is not necessary to install software for battery back ups because Win 7 already has support for this. If this is true then where where can the configuration be made for the back up?

I keep getting a message saying 'Consider Replacing Battery'. I'm running Windows 7 on a Toshiba A300. I've read that this is a problem with Windows 7. I'm wondering if Toshiba has a fix for this such as a fix for the BIOS.etc or maybe a driver? It looks like I should downgrade to XP..

I have had problems once or twice with my battery, but not for a long time. I installed Windows 7 a couple of days ago and twice today my battery stopped charging even though it was plugged in. The first time it said it was plugged in but not charging. The second time it said nothing. Both times, I rebooted and it resumed charging.

I have a brand new battery in an Acer travelmate 5720. It has a BRAND NEW battery in it. at 50% power, the laptop dies as if the battery is totally drained. Will not even post to bios. Just dead.I adjusted the settings for the battery in windows to alert and shut down the computer at 50% to save whataver data is there, but this is not a good fix. There are no settings in the bios for adjusting the battery. What is going on in windows to cause this?I've read thru the threads and saw a lot of people with this problem only to be told that it's their battery or the laptop, and blah blah blah. Anything but Windows 7.

just started cropping up about 2 days ago. For some reason, when I use my laptop on battery, the screen will go completely dark after about a minute of use. This most recently happened this morning. The first time this happened, I just held down my power button, and then turned the laptop on after a minute's wait. On that occasion, the laptop started up again, and it seemed to be waking up from hibernate or something.
But this morning, when I held down the power button and tried to turn it on again, it wouldn't. I plugged in my charger, and then the laptop was able to resume Windows, but the weirdest thing is, it said my battery was at 0%. The reason that seems odd to me is because it was fully charged last night. Right before the random screen turnoff, I checked my battery status, and it said 94%. So why did it go down to 0% after a minute and a half of use?
Now that my laptop is on, and connected to the charger, it is fully charged after about 10 minutes. Is it Windows 7? Or is it my laptop? The laptop will be 3 years old this November. Working on battery hasn't been a problem except for these past few days, and I haven't installed any new programs, or altered any settings that I'm aware of.

Start of with a topic what was published many times before, only not the same as in my situation. The crazy thing is, at every startup from Windows the battery icon runs the charge bar 5 times, and than it stops. At pointer it says: 0% available ( on main supply, battery is being charged) However, this does never change. Nomatter how long it charges. BatteryBar does the same thing:

When my win7 toshiba laptop is plugged in it runs ok and has fairly speedy internet connection speeds.when I run it on battery it seems like it drops the connection frequently.

I upgraded my Sony Vaio VGN-FZ190 to windows 7 64 bit and bought a new battery which would not work.All the battery sites I've seen and Sony say the VGP-BPS8 type batteries are not compatible with windows 7 64 bit.Is there a driver solution anyone knows of? Is there a battery that is compatible?

I recently upgraded to windows 7 and before that my batteries lasted over 3 hours and didn't over heat, but when I upgraded the batteries started overheating quickly and the battery lasts for about 30 minutes off of the charger. I also get a message that says I need to replace my battery.

im having a problem with my asus eee pc 1201n with a running wind7 x32 bit.I had to reinstall it due some technical issues and the most things run pretty smoothly. The only problem Im having is, I can use my fn keys to change volume and stuff. So I searched for the driver I needed and tried to install it, but I failed.I tried it with admin modus, other windows version but it just wont work.

I allowed the battery on my Acer notebook to run out causing Windows to shut down and lock the current files. As I needed the files urgently I asked a professional to recover them, which he did. Later I connected the mains power and recharged the battery. Now the notebook keyboard will not allow me to enter my password when demanded. The mouse and touchpad work. I have used F8 to try to restore the previous status.
