I have a toshiba satellite p300-160 and upon boot the bios password screen comes up and locks it out completley. I have search high and low on the net and so far had no luck.I have noted that removing the motherboard battery does not work on this model.I have tried to bridge the G1 connection to the ram earth for a minute but still get the password screen - The g1 connector is like a diamond shape with two points and I tried bridging both to the earth and each one seperate with no joy.Has anyone got any knowledge on this and how to remove/reset or backdoor it please?
I have an ASUS K50IE laptop that i had for 2 years now. been working fine until 2 days ago.this problem has been bugging me for the last 2 days. here's why.my laptop suddenly didn't detect my battery. thought it was because my battery was dead. I searched the net on things to do before "throwing in the towel" on my battery and today i came across a blog where the instruction was to uninstall the Microsoft ACPI compliant control method battery driver. I did just that and my battery suddenly worked! well sort of. now here's where it gets all weird.every time i open my laptop i do the following:1. plug in AC to laptop.. turn on laptop.3. unplug AC.3. laptop runs on battery.4. log on to windows.5. battery icon shows up as an empty charging icon then shows the "Battery is not detected" icon again.please take note that my laptop is still ON and WORKING. so this means (MAYBE?) that my battery is working.
Making novell netware 5.1 work with windows 7. My server is Novell 5.1 The workstations are Xp Pro And 1 is home edition (Which was not compatable with novell but prevailed on that irritating issue.) Now I need to configure a win7 workstation to my server. I know win7 does not support spx ipx protocol at all.
Here's what you need to do for both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 systems:
- Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from url...this works for both Vista and Windows 7. I've tried it on both.
- Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configures the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do:
- Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'.
- You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'
- Right-Click it and click on "Update Driver Software" -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.
- Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" button.
- Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".
- Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft.
- From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. Select one or the latest.
- Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed.
Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'.There are few more things that you want to pay attention to. If you have already added the device in your 'bluetooth device list' that didn't work, then remove the device and add it again. After you add it, you might need to restart the computer if it gave you a connection problem error message. Every PCs that had Windows 7 and Vista worked after installing this software and I hope it will work for you too.
I have a trusty dusty HP Laserjet 3200. There are no W7 drivers for this model yet and the Vista 64 drivers don't work and can't be installed in compatibility mode.
Are there any other drivers out there that will work with the Laserjet 3200 and W7 and give me basic functionality or am I just SOL until HP releases some drivers?
I an unable to make my floppy drive work on my new computer with windows 7 64 bit. I know there is a card made in England named Catweasel that is supposed to do the job, but they are hard to come by.
I run windows 7 enterprise as an administrator and I want to make use of applocker. So I start the local security policy, enable applocker and create the default rules. If all is correct I should not be able to run executables in for example "D:Applicationsquickpar" but unfortunately I can. I even create a rule which explicitly blocks "D:Applicationsquickparquickpar.exe", however I can still run it. I even got the application identity service running, so I don't know what is wrong.
Does anyone know a program or a way to make the processor work at a specific frequency?e.g. = if the processor is 1.5GHZ , to make it work at 1GHZ when i want to , using a program.
Im trying to set up my hercules dj console rmx to my new windows 7 laptop but the problem is the software disk says it can only be installed in windows xp and vista. Is their anything i can do?
I am in the process of creating a batch file in Windows 7 and I would like to know if there is a way I can allow this to work with the user input of 'q' and 'Q' instead of just Q.
SET /P XX=Type Y/N, then press ENTER: IF %XX% ==Q GOTO END IF %XX% ==Y GOTO START IF %XX% ==N GOTO END
I have a HP Entertainment PC laptop. It's Windows 7 (upgraded from Windows Vista). When I tap on the touchpad, it won't work as a click. It's so annoying that I have to use the button below the touchpad to click.
It doesn't seem to work. Every time I click it, it gives me no audio. I have verything set up right so don't bother telling me to go into more properties. Is there a 3rd party program that can handle this instead? The decoder on Windows sucks with my receiver and I want to use the receivers decoder.

I have two hdds (500gb 7200rpm) in my laptop and have 260gb of data on the second one. I wanted to create a partition for games at the beggining of the 2nd drive (the left side) as i heard it increased performance to put games in anoher drive and at the beggining of the drive. Will it make difference to make a partition at the beginning or at the end of this drive when it comes to gaming performance? My cousin showed me one game in the same drive installed in the 1st of four partitions of a 500gb 7200rpm (the same i have) performing with 3-5 fps more than that game installed in the 4th partition of that same drive....
