How To Make The Processor Work At A Specific Frequency
Feb 6, 2011
Does anyone know a program or a way to make the processor work at a specific frequency?e.g. = if the processor is 1.5GHZ , to make it work at 1GHZ when i want to , using a program.
I do a lot of wifi hotspot testing over Teamviewer. When the hotspot doesn't work I lose the Teamviewer connection. Is there any way to make Windows connect to a specific network after about 60 seconds or so?
If I can choose the specific wifi network to make Windows to connect to after a set amount of time my life would be much easier!
Is it possible to make a link on the desktop, or elsewhere, and when opened, to open it with a specific program rather then the default? Specifically, I use FF as my default browser, but I would like to use IE for a couple specific links. I know I can just open IE but it would be convenient to create an icon/link on the desktop to the location, and when opened, to be opened by IE rather then the default program for that extension (FF).I just realized that I could make another extension, a new one not used by any program, and just make that extension opened by IE by default then rename the link on the desktop, I think that would work, but is there a way to edit the link and tell it specifically what program to use when clicked rather then the default?

So, I cannot login with my real email adress on MSN, I have the newest version etc.. I tried reinstalling/restarting the computer and it won't work. I've tried using different accounts, they work flawlessly. I can still log on my email through the browser without a problem. The error message I get is : Signing in to Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable.
I have a i7 860 desktop (8 gb ram) which tends to freeze on one of the data applications that I run. Using the 'performance monitor' I discovered that the freeze occurs when the 'frequency' goes above 100%. At no point does the cpu utilization exceed 15%. Several calls to the vendor have failed to resolve the issue or even educate me. The question I have is what is this 'frequency' and two, why does it cause the application to freeze while the 8 cores are relaxing?
I run windows 7 enterprise as an administrator and I want to make use of applocker. So I start the local security policy, enable applocker and create the default rules. If all is correct I should not be able to run executables in for example "D:Applicationsquickpar" but unfortunately I can. I even create a rule which explicitly blocks "D:Applicationsquickparquickpar.exe", however I can still run it. I even got the application identity service running, so I don't know what is wrong.
Making novell netware 5.1 work with windows 7. My server is Novell 5.1 The workstations are Xp Pro And 1 is home edition (Which was not compatable with novell but prevailed on that irritating issue.) Now I need to configure a win7 workstation to my server. I know win7 does not support spx ipx protocol at all.
Here's what you need to do for both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 systems:
- Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from url...this works for both Vista and Windows 7. I've tried it on both.
- Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configures the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do:
- Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'.
- You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'
- Right-Click it and click on "Update Driver Software" -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.
- Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" button.
- Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".
- Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft.
- From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. Select one or the latest.
- Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed.
Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'.There are few more things that you want to pay attention to. If you have already added the device in your 'bluetooth device list' that didn't work, then remove the device and add it again. After you add it, you might need to restart the computer if it gave you a connection problem error message. Every PCs that had Windows 7 and Vista worked after installing this software and I hope it will work for you too.
I have a trusty dusty HP Laserjet 3200. There are no W7 drivers for this model yet and the Vista 64 drivers don't work and can't be installed in compatibility mode.
Are there any other drivers out there that will work with the Laserjet 3200 and W7 and give me basic functionality or am I just SOL until HP releases some drivers?
I'm working on a friend's computer and she's having more BSODs lately. I'm trying to figure out the cause here. I've run MalwareBytes and found nothing. I don't know how to interpret these dump files, and I can't get it to blue screen for me.

I have been having a lot of problems with my turtle beach transmitter blocking any wireless signal coming into my room, which is really odd, anyway after a few messages to the company, they have told me to changed my router frequency from 5ghz to 2.4ghz and that should solve the problem. Now I have sky Fibre, and have one of the Sagem N routers provided by sky.I have gone into the router settings and I cannot find anywhere to change a frequency.I thought the router would have been n a 2.4ghz frequency anyway
I am in the process of creating a batch file in Windows 7 and I would like to know if there is a way I can allow this to work with the user input of 'q' and 'Q' instead of just Q.
SET /P XX=Type Y/N, then press ENTER: IF %XX% ==Q GOTO END IF %XX% ==Y GOTO START IF %XX% ==N GOTO END
I have a HP Entertainment PC laptop. It's Windows 7 (upgraded from Windows Vista). When I tap on the touchpad, it won't work as a click. It's so annoying that I have to use the button below the touchpad to click.
