View 2 RepliesI have a i7 860 desktop (8 gb ram) which tends to freeze on one of the data applications that I run. Using the 'performance monitor' I discovered that the freeze occurs when the 'frequency' goes above 100%. At no point does the cpu utilization exceed 15%. Several calls to the vendor have failed to resolve the issue or even educate me. The question I have is what is this 'frequency' and two, why does it cause the application to freeze while the 8 cores are relaxing?

System Specs:
HP - HPE-137c
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5ghz
8GB RAM
Norton 360 =/
My native resolution is 1600x1200 but when i change my resolution to 1600x1200 it says 'frequency out range'. I have intel g31 without other graphic card. Then i installed gma driver it shows complete list of all resolutions but i cant set any resolution above 1600x900.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been having a lot of problems with my turtle beach transmitter blocking any wireless signal coming into my room, which is really odd, anyway after a few messages to the company, they have told me to changed my router frequency from 5ghz to 2.4ghz and that should solve the problem. Now I have sky Fibre, and have one of the Sagem N routers provided by sky.I have gone into the router settings and I cannot find anywhere to change a frequency.I thought the router would have been n a 2.4ghz frequency anyway

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs my tower's motherboard shorted, i'm stuck with a six year old HP Pavilion ZV5000 laptop. I have two (don't ask ), and i'm using the better of the two, with a 2.0GHz AMD Athlon 64 'Clawhammer', 40GB IDE HDD, 512MB RAM (2x256) and 64MB of video RAM. I would ultimately like to upgrade the RAM to the 2GB max., but that would cost 60, which I don't have to spare at the moment. A friend of mine recently upgraded the RAM in his laptop from 2x512MB to 2x1GB, and offered me the 2x512MB sticks. Obviously, my first concern was was it the right type. Off the top of my head, the ZV5000 takes SODIMM 333MHz RAM. I enquired, and my friend said the RAM he has is 600MHz (from what he could remember). If they are the right physical size, would the difference matter/damage the laptop?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi've just installed 8GB OCZ Gold DDR2 RAM on my Asus P5Q Pro Turbo board, the timings on the RAM state PC8500 1066Mhz 5-5-6@2.10v. I have checked in the BIOS and the frequency was set to auto and the voltage was also set to auto, I have set these to 1066 and 2.10 respectively but when I checked with CPU-Z it reports frequency 534.9 and voltage 1.80. I made sure I saved the changes before i exited the bios

View 9 Replies View RelatedHave been getting BSODs more and more frequently over the last week. Can't think of anything special that triggered the behaviour though. It mostly happens when the computer idles and I'm doing other stuff, and doesn't seem to relate to computer load etc.
Did a bit of digging myself and used WhoCrashed to identify Comodo Backup and Daemon Tools as possible culprits. They are both uninstalled now. Installed drivers for the bluetooth which were missing and giving an exclamation mark in device manager. After that no exclamation marks or errors there.
Today I did a full memorycheck with Memtest86+, which passed all runs.
Got another BSOD couple of hours ago (0x00000124), with no lead from WhoCrashed on the root cause so now I resort to asking the gurus.
I installed all the drivers available from the Gigabyte website for some reason the wifi function simply does not work. Also, the screen plugged into the 7950 works fine but the other screen connected into the motherboard gets the message "no signal detected".

Until yesterday morning I had a good wifi signal. We are in France and run on Nordnet Satellite Internet. However, now I have an exclamation mark on signal bar and no internet access. We are on Nordnet Satellite and I am running WIndows 7 on a Sony Vaio laptop. It is not the router as my husband's laptop is working fine with no connection problems. I can connect to internet by using cable but not wifi which is very inconvenient as I have to keep bringing the computer downstairs.Have done diagnostic check and error is: Windows cannot connect with the device or resource (primary DNS server)Computer also trying to connect by cellular profile (which is the O2 dongle that I use when I go to the UK). I keep getting the O2 box up asking me if I want to connect which it did (without the dongle inserted) but although it will bring up Google it won't connect to anything.I'm not very technical but have done the obvious things like system restore and checking the adaptor settings in Network and Sharing but just can't figure out what the problem is. If I try to set up a new connection it just keeps referring back to the cellular profile which is presumably for O2?
View 5 Replies View RelatedRunning Windows 7 Home Premium on a netbook. Since yesterday get message "Windows cannot connect to wifi". Running checks suggests resetting the router, but two other devices, an IPad and an almost identical netbook are connected no problem. I havn't changed anything. It can see the router. Done normal reboots, disconnect reuse connect adapter etc. no luck. This has happened before on two other computers on different routers, and we don't know what eventually fixed it, although changing the encryption method might have solved one of them, even though that computer had been connecting for weeks before the failure. The only one of our family devices never to have experienced this is the IPad.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo the problem is that my WiFi somehow doesn't show up on my devices. However, the internet works perfectly fine through ethernet cable for my PC. All my other devices such as my phone and laptop dont see the router even though I have enabled wifi through the router control panel. I also have reset the router manually, updated to recent firmware. My ISP said it might be my computer so I disconnected the cable from the pc to the router and hardwI thought it was my router's problem so I exchanged it for the same model (Netgear N300) but the problem still exists. I went back to ask the computer store to test the router's wifi and they said that it worked fine...
