So the problem is that my WiFi somehow doesn't show up on my devices. However, the internet works perfectly fine through ethernet cable for my PC. All my other devices such as my phone and laptop dont see the router even though I have enabled wifi through the router control panel. I also have reset the router manually, updated to recent firmware. My ISP said it might be my computer so I disconnected the cable from the pc to the router and hardwI thought it was my router's problem so I exchanged it for the same model (Netgear N300) but the problem still exists. I went back to ask the computer store to test the router's wifi and they said that it worked fine...
1st post...I have a dell lap top and a desk top at home I use for work. I have a linksys wireless router I always use for my laptop. All of sudden today i cannot connect to the internet. I have a red X over the wifi icon. it says "not connected - No connections available". i have done all i know to do and sat on hold with dell tech support for over an hour. I always pick up 4 -8 other networks around me too, which is weird that it says none are available. I am on my desktop now, and internet is working fine. reset the router and restarted several times. I believe the wifi connection is enabled.
For some reason my laptop will not remain connected to my wifi. The other computers on the network are running just fine. The laptop in question is one I recently received from a friend who had no problems like this. I have been browsing various forums for quite some time, and have been unable to fix the problem. Running Windows 7 on an ASUS machine, the router is a Linksys RangePlus.
i just got a new router, my brother helped me set it up this router creates 2 wifi network, one named A, the other one named B.A is faster than B (i don't know why) on my ipad or phone or any mobile devices, i see both networks but on my windows 7 PC, i only see B (the slower one)so where is A? i need this faster one, why does it show up on mobile devices but not on my Windows 7 PC?when he set up the router, he said to me that the website (routerlogin.net - where you can set up your router, put password, etc) says "A is available for Mac and B is available for Windows PC". is this the reason?but what about mobile devices, they can connect to both networks?
I have a toolbar on my taskbar titled "Programs". It has about eight folders in it. I made another toolbar, and placed it directly adjacent to the Programs toolbar, to obscure the eight folders and force it to be a dropdown menu.Trouble is, as soon as I lock my taskbar, right next to the arrow that displays the eight items of my Programs toolbar in menu-form, one of the eight items is showing up as an icon, as if the other toolbar isn't close enough to the Programs toolbar in order to completely obscure the eight items.
I installed all the drivers available from the Gigabyte website for some reason the wifi function simply does not work. Also, the screen plugged into the 7950 works fine but the other screen connected into the motherboard gets the message "no signal detected".

I recently installed 64-bit Windows 7 on my new computer I built a few days ago and I have no clue as to why it only shows my memory at 4GBs. My BIOS show the same thing, however CPU-Z says I have the appropriate 6GBs. The "Maximum Memory" option is unchecked in msconfig, by the way. Does anyone know what may be causing this issue?
I can't log in when the wifi is on (laptop) and when I do log in (wifi off) I can connect to the router, go on the internet but I can't see the m: drive on the network.This is following a spyware attack and a system restore. I have a Toshiba Satellite, A305 S6905 with a New Install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.Bios was updated to latest 2.20 version. I put two new, matched 2 GB ram modules in it. It does not show but 2 GB installed even in the Bios. I checked both modules by putting each one seperately in the primary ram slot and both were showing up as good. I even put the old 2 GB and 1 GB modules I had before under Vista and it still only shows 2 GB installed.It only shows 2 GB installed and 1.87 useable..It boots OK and seems to run fairly smoothly but I have not put it to the test under some memory hog programs yet.
On windows 7 I have the CPU usage plug in, added when I became convinced that more was happening than I thought. Although nothing is set in shedule processes, the 4 cores of the CPU are often going mad, with 70-80% of the 3 GB memory being used... Is there a program which tells me what the bl..... machine is doing. Perhaps a permanant window on the bottom of the screen? It is so frustrating as it slows down internet explorer and generally seems to be more interested in its own thing than my requests.
I previously had a computer with Vista on it. I purchased a new computer with Windows 7 and installed MS Office 2010. I transferred all my files from my old computer to my new computer and now when I go to insert pictures into my website, the pictures are not showing up as thumbnails so I can view all at the same time. They just show that little icon.I have went through a lot of the threads in response to this problem and have tried them all without any success. Could it be old settings that transferred over and are not compatible.
i have a dell studio 1535 with windows7 ultimate x32. For 5or6 months everything was ok but yesterday when i booted my laptop the welcome screen didn't show anything. No users. I rebooted it but still the same. Also when i log in in safe mode all the users show up what to do ?

After the welcome screen there's only a "Other User" and nothing else. My account isn't shown. I tried to log in through Other User but it's blocked with a Username and Password. I'm scared to loose all my stuff I have on there. I try to get on Safe mode to System Restore but the "Other User" still pops up and my account still isn't shown so I can't access my account(I'm using a different laptop to post this). I don't remember ever putting on a "Other User" account,. I don't want to loose any of my items I have on this PC. How can I remove this "Other User" and get my account back without loosing everything?
after setting up brand new pc and instaling adobe acrobat 9 pro. my e boooks are not showing the cover images in my folder . they used to in fact the only way the covers show is when i click open in acrobat and a new page opens for me to select a file, then they show but the images dont stay . is there a check box for searches or displaying content i have forgotten . ps its good to be back
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and when I connect an external HDD sometimes it shows and sometimes it doesnt. I work a lot with external HDD's plugged into one or all of my front USB ports and there doesnt seem to be any consistency to when it shows in the computer tree. Between this and autoplay not working it feels like Windows 7 has taken an enormous leap backwards.
I've just spent the last couple of hours stripping down my rig,for a clean but mainly to do something about the cable management.But since rebuilding it 2 problems have arisen.problem 1 On start up I'm getting the message boot manager is missing .I go through the steps CTL>ALT>DEL then DEL to enter bios and select the drive to boot from in advanced mode F7 (only one drive is there on the initial bios screen where the drag and drop option is)Problem 2 once I've logged in it is only showing 2 of my 3 hard drives.I'm using a z77 mobo 60g ssd boot,256g ssd and a 1tb mechanical.When I go into Computer management the 2 of the 3 drives are visible there.
I have been fiddling around with codec packs and finally found 1 that is ideal for me (Codec Pack All in 1 1.6.3)Everything works perfectly except for mkv thumbnails which I found another way around it by installing Icaros 2.0 The only problem remaining is that .mp4 files are not able to display subtitles in WMP 12, they work perfectly well in VLC but for aesthetic reasons I prefer WMP.Is there anyway to make this work with some sort of registry tweak without having to install additional codec packs such as Shark 007 which even though it states to work without any mess, it ruins all my file types associations and subtitle display.SO to summarize I am looking for a registry hack that can force WMP 12 on Windows 7 x64 show subtitles?
I have got a external hard drive that I am using as a media storage device that has all my 1100 movies on. The problem is that windows Media player is not showing them all for example I have Rose Red Disc 1 and Rose Red Disc 2 and only the disc 1 is showing up and it is also not showing up on my Playstation 3 that I am using for a media server in the living room to play it on my TV why is this happening?
