May 5, 2011
I upgraded my Sony Vaio VGN-FZ190 to windows 7 64 bit and bought a new battery which would not work. All the battery sites I've seen and Sony say the VGP-BPS8 type batteries are not compatible with windows 7 64 bit.Is there a driver solution anyone knows of? Is there a battery that is compatible?

i have a 7 series samsung laptop, I can make my own "custom" power plan, or even set it on balanced or anything, and when i shut computer down(doing it properly), and start it up, the power plan is back on "Samsung Eco Mode". I'm not sure if THIS eco mode is what is then turning off the network card, but also when i start, the internet is connected for about 5 seconds, then disconnected....adding another piece to the puzzle there is a program installed from the factory called "Easy Settings" and when i open that, network card is in "off" position, i turn it on and instantly have internet again. This easy settings program is on my list of programs i can uninstall, but im not sure if its whats reverting settings or not, getting to be verrry annoyed with opening 6 menus everytime i start-up to get everything the way i want it again. actually also i have heard these samsung laptops come w.lots of fluff programs that arent needed, if anyone knows MORE of these i can uninstall thatd be amazing.
I have done a clean install of Windows 7 Homepremium and my battery life on my Vaio TX3 has gone from 6.5 Hours to only 3 hours. I cant find the power management drivers. Also I can no longer use the keyboard hot keys to adjust the screen brightness.
I just upgraded to windows 7 Ultimate to utilize the XP mode. I currently access a company thru a VPN client network on my 64 bit Windows. The company has changed some programs that are 32 bit which I have downloaded to XP. Will the 2 systems work together or will I need to access the company from the XP side? Also, is the remote desktop connection something that came with the upgrade?
Finally got through my first day with Windows 7, must say it does get easier. I'm trying to get the programs onto my new system that I ran using XP. I've been using Nero 6 on my XP system, anything in the new Windows 7 that can burn CDs and DVDs or should I try and download Nero 6 if it works with a 64 bit system?
I bought Windows 7 Pro. 64bit and installed it on my PC just to find out that my old Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel isn't compatible. I've been searching for a Wheel that is Windows 7 Pro. 64bit. Compatible with not much luck. I really don't want to pay over $150 for a Win. 7 Pro. Compatible wheel.
I'm also using two devices, a D-Link Dir 600 and an EnGenius ECB3500 as a repeater bridge. Do I have to take that into consideration when buying a wireless card?
I have an ASUS K50IE laptop that i had for 2 years now. been working fine until 2 days ago.this problem has been bugging me for the last 2 days. here's why.my laptop suddenly didn't detect my battery. thought it was because my battery was dead. I searched the net on things to do before "throwing in the towel" on my battery and today i came across a blog where the instruction was to uninstall the Microsoft ACPI compliant control method battery driver. I did just that and my battery suddenly worked! well sort of. now here's where it gets all weird.every time i open my laptop i do the following:1. plug in AC to laptop.. turn on laptop.3. unplug AC.3. laptop runs on battery.4. log on to windows.5. battery icon shows up as an empty charging icon then shows the "Battery is not detected" icon again.please take note that my laptop is still ON and WORKING. so this means (MAYBE?) that my battery is working.
i'm trying to run windows 7 64bit on my sony vaio vgn-fz21m and having a huge issue. Well all drivers seems to work fine, but laptop keyboard stoped working after instaliation. I tried to connect a USB keyboard adn it was just fine, working perfectly, but my laptop keyboard doesn't respond. The previous version was Win 7 32 bit and it worked, but 32 bit supports only 3 gb of ram. I want to use all my 4 gb ram and well i can't.
