CPU Meter Suddenly Shoots Up To 100% And System Shuts Down?

I have DELL INSPIRON 15R series laptop with WINDOW 7.Hardware:i3 Proc320GB4GB DDR3 RAM.Problem: MY CPU meter unncessarily shoots upto 100 and system shuts down nstances:1. Twice, When I was on video conference with 3 of my friends (Google Plus Hang Out - Google Chrome browser)2. When I tried to Mix audio and Video in Windows Live Movie Maker3. I use a Software called Fruity Loops for Music Programming. I had created a project 4 months ago with this software. It worked fine then. The CPU consumption to play my program live was Nominal.I opened the same project a couple of weeks ago, and the project wouldnt even play.It drags... CPU shoots up and system shuts downI removed all the unncessary programs that I had installed on my machine. I still face the problem.The problem first occured, when I used Adobe Audition to remove noise from a recording.

Printer directly connected to the system suddenly stops working and shuts the print spool down? I go to restart the spool, print the test page and BAM! print spool has been stopped. At first thought it was a possible infection but I can't find one. Performed a sys restore and it worked only to have a windows critical update start it all over again.....

This has happened several times over the past couple days. I will be playing DC Universe Online and my Windows 7 x64 PC simply and abruptly shuts down. Not blue screen, nothing just power off. I have had the system for years and never seen this happen under other circumstances.

I have had the system for years and never seen this happen under other circumstances. I don't know how to figure this out at all. I don't know where to look and I don't even know if it is a hardware or software problem.

I blew the hard drive on my Sony VAIO CS120J notebook. I did not have disks so I loaded Win 7 Premium. Now the computer will shut down randomly.

after surfing the net. watching videos from Internet, my computer suddenly shuts itself off. after rebooting my computer. the folder icon became corrupted and i can't seem to delete it. it gives the message ' windows is not responding '. after restarting the computer once again, the folder becomes accessible again but the file icon is still corrupted. i tried changing and restoring the icon but neither seem to work.

As soon as I close warcraft after playing dota, the CPU Usage shoots upto a stagnant 100%. I checked percentage wise and rundll32 is using up over 60%. Whereas when the game is running, rundll32 and svchost (combind) contribute to around 80% of the total CPU Usage and the Total usage still being a stable 100%.

I wanted to keep my Win 7 laptop running 7/24, so I selected "Never" under "Put computer to sleep" when plugged in in the Power Options. But the system keeps shutting itself down after idling for a few hours. Why?

I'm having a brand new problem with my machine as of late. I'm freezing all of the time and and when I'm not freezing I am running way too slow. The other interesting issue is that my McAfee software keeps popping up telling me that 'live scanning has been turned off'(automatically) and asks if I want to turn it back on (which I always do). Spybot pulls up the same crap every time

My system is automatically shutting down as soon as i exit from the yahoo messenger Since the past 2 days. It was fine until 2days back. I received a file on chat, which i dint open as the file transfer was cancelled by the sender midway. But since then i have been facing this problem. I have uninstalled messenger and reinstalled it, but still the problem persists. I have even cscanned it for any virus, but there seems to be none.

win 7 x64, gigabyte motherboard GA-MA74GMT-S2, AMD PHENOM XII 550 - AMD PHENOM XII B50, DDR3 6 GB RAM, stock cooling, ASUS ati hd5450
I over clocked my cpu from dual core to quad core but even after complete shut down by the window, cpu fan is working, cabinet LED is still on, motherboard LED is on as there is a current.
Which is totaly unusual as everything switches off automaticaly after complete shutdown in normal cpu condition.

My system all of a sudden got slower than honey in Dec. to put it nice. When I go to task manage I see "system idle process" usage at 60 - 100%. Looked system idle process up and this is the explanation I got: When opening Windows Task Manager you may notice that the "System Idle Process" is high and be concerned about something using your system resources. When a computer or a processor within the computer is idle it will have a high System Idle process in the CPU column, often in the 50's to 90's. This is completely normal for a computer as it waits for something to do. But this has been going on forever I would guess, why is it slowing my system down now and it never did before? it's so slow Xmarks normal take 15 to 30 sec. to sync. I stopped it at 2 min. As I am typing this ...I type 5 to 10 letters and everything freezes for 5 sec. then it fills in and freezes, then 5 sec. later I can type some more.

I've notice that suddenly my pc start to freeze without any blue or black screens last week but had no idea why, then i noticed that my CPU is loaded to 100 %on the process "NT Kernel & System ". and it completely lock my OS till i doing hard restart, the issue also happnen randomly But 90% happened if i connect to the internet Everything was fine until some days ago. all i've done was to add new UPS around 2-3 weeks ago (but it dont seem to be it), update itunes, and update windows defender, i tried to restore the system to the time before i update the windows defender but the issue still happening?I have no clue what is causing this, i saw that it common issue around the net but never recall i had it myself till now?

My computer's performance all of a sudden dropped yesterday, and I truly have not been able to find out why. The only dodgy thing I've noticed is that my CPU is tasked to 90-100% now in Task Manager, but the highest CPU-eating process is something called WMIPrvSE that I cannot kill (keeps coming back).The sudden drop happened last night while I was playing Mass Effect 2. It runs fine and has run fine for the past few months, but after getting to a certain point in it yesterday the whole laptop started to lag badly. [code]

Logging as administrator, I tried to remove admin password. It wouldn't let me do it and now, when I restart and click on the admin icon to log in, it tells me the system is read only and shuts down. If I run f2, f8, etc. The computer shuts down after 30 seconds or so.

Recently I noticed my CPU being pushed to 100% by a trojan (igfxupdate) though not knowing the cause of the usage I simply tried restarting the computer, though when the computer restarted my CPU Meter was gone. I have now completely removed the virus but my CPU Meter never showed up. It isn't in my list of gadgets and it doesn't reappear when I click restore gadgets, however, it seems to have all of it's files (in my windows siderbar folder). So I am at a loss as to how to fix it and I can't simply reinstall it because it comes with windows. I was really a big fan of this gadget and now that it helped me catch this virus I feel naked without it. I know I can download a different CPU Meter but I like the simplicity and reliability of the windows one?

Today when I turned on my laptop, suddenly, there was a message that my battery has problems so the computer might shut down suddenly. I tried different strategies, like uninstalling the battery driver, or letting the computer completely die. When it turned off itself at 6%, I turned it back on, and it was at 2 minutes battery life. Then in a few minutes, it said 4 minutes battery life for 6%. Now, it's passed an hour, and it says 3 minutes, but changes sometimes to 1-4 minutes. The battery meter is completely wrong, and I don't know what to do since it is closing the computer way too early. I'm still not sure what the problem is.

but not for thumb drives nor usb hard drives..

I got a serious problem about Windows7 Gadgets. I lose all gadgets including the original clock and cpu meters. If I try to launch sidebar.exe, it will appear as shown in picture. If I close this window, sidebar.exe will be terminated as well. I've tried deleting the gadget cache but it seems not working.

20secs after logging in, my pc shuts down by itself..I have to unplug it before it will turn on again but eventually if will turn off again after few secs... is it a PSU or Motherboard failure? I check my Mobo and PSU and there was no blown capacitors...but I can smell a a burnt capacitor.
