View 4 RepliesYesterday I got this virus, I went and bought trend micro titanium and cleaned it up (was using a free30 day trial of something else) but I'm still having a problem. Whenever I go to shut down or restart my computer, it starts doing it like normal, but right at the end I get this blue screen with a bunch of messages written, it last about 5 seconds while a countdown happens at the bottom of the screen, then it restarts (even if I went Shutdown).
Sometimes minutes after I log back into the user, the blue screen comes up out of nowhere, does it's 5 second odd countdown and restarts. I should get minidump files. The countdown at the bottom of the blue screen is called "crash dump" or something like that. With the virus whenever I tried to open an internet explorer or google chrome window, all that would come up was "win 7 home security", I'm not getting that anymore though after doing the full scan with trend.
Additional info: I have windows 7, my pc is a HP Pavilion laptop, model number is DV6 - 2144TX

i'm not sure if its the same everytime but this is what i got on the last occasion. i taut that the problem was with the amd catalyst suit, 12.8-which i upgraded to when it released- because sometimes upon restarting i did not get any display signal from the video card on my f22 aoc monitor. i did uninstall this driver and installed an older version [11.8 i think] and got an ease up on the problem. no restarting as regular as before. only during games.
Basically the main problem is that whenever my computer is left running for any given amount of time, them I will get a system restart. I would be transferring a large amount of files from a hard drive to a backup overnight, only to find myself on the login screen and half of the files transferred next morning. Or I'd be playing a game, surfing the web, even the simplest of tasks, it doesn't matter.
I am currently running Windows 7 64-Bit (A perfectly legal version too lol)

I just bought a new computer from Cyberpower PC and am having all kinds of trouble with it. I finally got it to work last night after reinstalling windows from the recovery disk. However, Now I am getting 2 blue screen of death messages. When I try start up it asks whether I want to "Start Windows Normally" or "Launch Startup Repair". When I select Launch Startup Repair I get a BSOD message saying Unmountable_Boot_Volume. When I launch Windows Normally I get a BSOD saying STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The Verification of a KnownDLL failed. system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000020 (0x009224e0 0x00000000). The system has been shut down.
I have trying booting in safe mode and launching from last known good configuration and that did not work. I tried booting from the recovery disk and running chkdsk which, also, did not work. I have tried booting from the recovery disk and doing a system restore as well. When I boot to the recovery disk and select "Repair Computer" it says that "This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows you are trying to repair.
Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of Windows." This does not make sense to me as I just reinstalled Windows from that same recovery disc. Furthermore, when I try to boot the computer from safe mode it freezes at avgidsha.sys. I am going to try using an AVG recovery disc to disable AVG and determine whether or not that is a the problem. However, I have had so many problems with this new computer and am unsure whether it is a hardware or a software problem. And if it is a software problem whether it is a bad driver or bad copy of Windows 7.

I have a brand new Desktop PC - running Windows 7 - 8gb ram - iTB HD and I have to say it is running perfectly well. However, when I shut it down yesterday I noticed that the PC restarted itself and stated ' windows had recovered from an unexpected shut down' blue screen, and it gave me details of a mini dump file for the error. The mini dump file is empty so nothing reported there. In the event log it states the issue was 'kernel' as follows: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.My husband suggested I shut down too soon before allowing ie to close properly.

I've found that when whenever I let my computer go to sleep, hibernate or restart it or shut it down then a blue screen will appear and restart the system. When the system comes to it will tell me the event name was Blue Screen and that the computer is recovering from a unexpected shutdown.I'm currently running my computer on the High Performance plan and not letting it go to any other mode?By the way, my system is a dual boot with Windows XP. XP is on my main drive and 7 is on my second drive.

I didn't take a screen capture, however the error message had to do with winSys32.exe, and then the usually memory dump messages. I rebooted into safe mode and tried running Spybot, but it came up with an error, so I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes anti-malware. It found 5 problems and I deleted them. I then ran Avast and it found no infections. Figuring it was a malware problem, I rebooted. Now Windows won't load. It gets to the Welcome screen, then goes to a blank black screen, with a mouse cursor. The cursor can be moved. I powered down the computer, pulled the battery, and booted it back up. This time I got a black screen, saying my disks had to be checked for inconsistencies. I ran the scan and it found no errors. Windows started to load, then stopped at the blank black screen again. I have my laptop set up with Ubuntu 11.04 on a sperate partion and I have not any problems with it, so I think the issue is related just to Windows, not hardware. My laptop is an Asus g72g, with an Intel Core 2 duo processor @ 2.53ghz, 6 gigs of ram and an Nvidia graphic card. Other then adding Ubuntu I have not done any upgrades to the system. Windows 7 was a installed at the factory, not an upgrade, and I haven't added any software in 6 months or so.
