I've just ran a full system restore on my niece's Dell Inspiron N5030 which runs Windows 7. After the restore the laptop restarted and went into the setup screen... then it tells me it's unable to continue the setup whilst in safe mode and asks me to restart...thus the loop continues.how to start in normal mode and continue the setup?I've tried going to the black boot screen which has a variety of options including "Start Windows Normally" but none of these worked.

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy computer, a Lenovo Idea pad P580 running on Windows 7, is 5 weeks old and yesterday I was using Microsoft Word to edit a document and Word suddenly crashed. So I closed it, but then the cursor started spinning and I could not access anything on my computer so I rebooted and it started up but then just trying to open Microsoft Word caused the cursor to keep spinning again and I could not access anything. So I again rebooted and this time it was spinning from the beginning. So I again rebooted and turned it on in safe mode and everything was fine. Then turned it off and left it off overnight. In the morning I tried to boot in normal mode and it did boot but it was again spinning and I could not access anything. So I again rebooted in safe mode and I can use my computer fine. And also, this is unrelated, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I need to do to make the scroll bar stop moving on its own? Every time I scroll down a page it seems to lock the scroll bar and so when I move the cursor away from the scroll bar, the scroll bar still moves and I cannot click any links or anything on that webpage.
View 6 Replies View Relatedthe computer I am concerned with is running Windows 7 with IE8, Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I am currently in Safe Mode with Networking without issue. The owner of the computer says that something happened earlier today while he was online that sounds like some false antivirus popup, but he's unsure. Here are the symptoms in normal mode. Every application, from moving through them to opening and closing them, runs exceptionally slow - one to three minutes to open, at least a minute to open internet pages. I noticed that, when in IE, as the pages are loading the IE page disappears and reappears. I am not very familiar with Windows 7 so I don't know if it is related. The computer seems to be getting slower as the day goes on. CPU usage is very high.So far, I have disabled many startup items that were unnecessary. I ran CCleaner and cleaned up. MBAM was run in both normal and safe mode, full scans, and found nothing. This is also posted in Viruses and Malware, but I'm unsure where it should live.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI can't boot my computer in normal mode or safe mode. When I try to do so, after the "starting windows" page the only things that come up are my mouse, a black screen/background, and a "logonui.exe-bad image- Authui.dll isn't designed to run on windows" error/message (not the exact message). I can't use a system restore (it can't find a restore point), the image recovery tool finds no image to restore from, system repair either doesn't find a problem or can't fix the problem, and basically nothing else works (none of the advanced boot options or other various buttons and tools do anything noticeable). I've even tried to use sfc in command prompt, but whenever I do any sfc things at all (/scannow, verifyonly, verifyfile, etc.) it says there is a system repair pending that requires a reboot. I've restarted 7-8 times and the exact same message keeps coming up. I'm looking for any general help I can get right now, [I can post my computer specifics in an hour when I have time](posted a few). I have an HP pavilion dv6-6135dx wiht Windows 7 x64.Processor: AMD a8-3500m APU, raedon graphics bios vender/version: insyde, f. 20.I'm having trouble getting more info because my computer is still crashing occasionally and I don't really know what else is relevant; if you need more, I might need directions on how to get it. Especially if it involves command prompt.I should also add that it has been crashing more often than I think is normal ever since I got it, but recently it BSODed 3-4 times a day. I have antivirus and also ran a full malwarebytes scan yesterday, and it only found one little issue which was resolved.

When I try to boot up normally, I log in but then the monitors go black but everything else seems to run. Pressing ctrl alt delete works and brings up the screen again but if I try to select task manager for example the screen goes black again. When I boot up through safe mode the computer restarts seconds after loading the windows logon screen.

The cycle described before has to be repeated 24 hours, so, the computer is automatically turned on, it automatically runs the macro and when the macro ends, it goes off again 24 times per day. When I say turn off I mean, either turn off the computer or send it to a low energy consumption state like hibernation or sleep Basically I know how to automatically turn off the computer and turn it on once per day using the BIOS setup, but I dont know how to do this several times in a day automatically and then call the macro every time

First I was having trouble with booting into safe mode so I done some Googling and I found this page and tried it [URL] now not only can I not start my PC in safemode but not in normal mode either, with checking the option for safe mode in msconfig it now keeps trying to start my PC in safe mode over and over again. I tried repair my PC with my DVD but that cannot fix it. There is no system restore point or recovery saved.
I'm in a bit of a jam, and I'm hoping somebody might have a suggestion for me. My computer had been running slowly and freezing a lot, so a few days ago I went through and deleted temporary files, changed it so fewer programs would run at start-up, uninstalled Adaware because I had read that it could conflict with antivirus software, ran a scan in avast, and then restarted. After restarting, the computer got to the blue welcome screen, and then stopped before it finished loading. Since then, I've only been able to boot in safe mode.I thought I might have a virus, so I ran some scans over the weekend at the advice of somebody on a different website's forums, but I haven't gotten anywhere.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had this machine built just over a year ago, and only had occasional crashes (no particular activities seemed to generate the issue). About 2 months ago the crashes became more persistent, and upon restarting the machine would have trouble loading normal mode. At the screen that reads "welcome" the spinning wheel would simply freeze, and the computer would lock up. As this problem persisted the computer would either automatically reboot itself each time, or crash into a BSOD and run a dump. I can, however, start it in Safe Mode without issue. It had been running the same install of windows 7 ultimate x64 until a couple of weeks ago when I attempted to reinstall. This solved nothing, so I reinstalled again, this time deleting the partitions and formatting the drive. Again, the problems persist. I'm inclined to think they're hardware related at this point, but I'm in no way an expert.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new Dell XPS Ultrabook 13 with i7 processor. It worked fine for about three weeks, then all of a sudden it refuses to connect to the internet. I am still connected to my wifi network, but the network and sharing centre shows the connection as dropped between the hub and the internet. Troubleshooter offers no answers. I know other Windows7 users have experienced this and so I have ALREADY done the following: Tried accessing the internet in safe mode with networking. This works, so it is not a hardware issue. I can definitely access this web in this way. Rebooting my wireless router etc. I know this is not the issue though, as other devices such as my iPhone can still access the web through it (and the XPS, in safe mode)

I patiently wait but it just doesnt start and my computer freezes afterwards so i have to turn my computer off the unsafe way. I cleaned up my disk, unchecked unneccesary startup items in msconfig, checked registries for errors, defragmented my disk, use an antivirus, use malware bites, troubleshooting, ms config and none of it seems to resolve my problem. The only way i can open up programs is if I use safe mode and safe mode with networking.
View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday I got this virus, I went and bought trend micro titanium and cleaned it up (was using a free30 day trial of something else) but I'm still having a problem. Whenever I go to shut down or restart my computer, it starts doing it like normal, but right at the end I get this blue screen with a bunch of messages written, it last about 5 seconds while a countdown happens at the bottom of the screen, then it restarts (even if I went Shutdown).
Sometimes minutes after I log back into the user, the blue screen comes up out of nowhere, does it's 5 second odd countdown and restarts. I should get minidump files. The countdown at the bottom of the blue screen is called "crash dump" or something like that. With the virus whenever I tried to open an internet explorer or google chrome window, all that would come up was "win 7 home security", I'm not getting that anymore though after doing the full scan with trend.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have recently noticed the last couple of weeks that my computer is running slower than normal. In the last week. I noticed my anti-virus software from Norton is no longer working. When I tried to delete the file to re-download it the program would not delete from my computer. I tried to just update it from the internet the "Run; Save;Cancel menu appeared and when I clicked run nothing happened. I tried this function in safe mode with the same result.
Now my problem is affecting other programs like Microsoft and the shortcuts on my desktop. I have tried downloading the AVG anti virus I ran into the same problem. I am lost for options since it is not letting me run any programs on my computer. I can download programs just fine but thats it. I can use the internet just fine but I try to stay away from that since it leaves me open for more viruses. I need to know of other options that I can try.
I have a Sony Vaio with Windows 7 installed on it. Recently, my computer was attacked by a virus. As soon as I noticed, I turned off the computer manually, and booted back up in safe mode. I ran Avast, Ad-Aware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. All 3 found a couple of threats, which I deleted. I tried restarting my computer, and then running these 3 again in safe mode (with network). I did it as long as threats were found. Once the computer felt safe, I tried booting in normal mode.
Here's the problem : I get to the "Welcome" page, and then everything goes black but my cursor. What's strange about the problem : For some reason, I did succeed to get it to open normally 2 or 3 times, but every single time it would be crazy laggy. Internet Explorer wouldn't work either. It freezes as soon as I try to access anything. And now it's back to a black screen after the "Welcome" page when I try booting in normal mode. Only my cursor appears (I can move the cursor). Safe Mode works just fine too, only Normal mode has a problem.
charger wire has loose wiring showing and if the black wire touches the red wire the computer completely shuts off, and when you turn it back on you have to go through the whole re-start process and lose unsaved documents. Plus when you run it in the normal mode it takes forever to load anything, and a little window keeps popping up saying "microsoft windows is not responding." but when I run it in safe mode, it works fine. what's wrong here?My theory is that the charget has been short cerciting (i know i spelled it wrong, forgive me) so much that it's been causing damage to the motherboard,
