If I create a folder in desktop, or paste a file or folder to the desktop I only can see it if I hir refresh!!! For example if the trash bin is "full" and I "empty" it....ihe icon will be the "full" one! Only after I hit refresh the new state (empty in this case) will be seen!
View 3 Replies View RelatedUpon every boot up Windows Explorer ( not Internet Explorer) automatically loads and displays. This has been going on for some time. I thought this would be solved once I did a "Install Repair" , yet this is not the case.I have looked in the startup folder to see if it is being requested on startup and it is not. I have not been able to see where this request resides to turn it off.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with the folders in windows explorer in windows 7.Often windows explorer automatically creates unwanted folders who I cant recognize. Often some folders have been splitted in 2 or more folders. One example is that it had been created 2 folders of my "bon jovi"-folder. One of them has the original name "bon jovi" and the new folder has the name "jon bon jovi". Strange behaviour by windows explorer.Or just one file is saved in a folder and a subfolder, which have names based on the files name, often the artist and album. If I download one file, I want it saved in "my music"-folder "bare", not hidden in 1 or 2 folders.Suddenly, after 15 mins or so, a lot of new unwanted folders appeared in "my music" with subfolders and just one mp3-file. The new folders were created just some minutes ago. The numbers of folders in "my music" has increased much. Many of the mp3-files are downloaded from dc++, but the settings in dc++ is correct. The files are saved in "my music"-folder.Ive tried to change the foldersettings in windows explorer, f.ex organise -> reset folders, but it doesnt help

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow does one prevent internet explorer from automatically downloading and opening a PDF file?for example, I click on a link which I do NOT know is a PDF file. I am not given the option to SAVE the file. Instead, it is automatically downloaded and then Adobe PDF opens up in a seperate window. How do I disable this? I have disabled the plug in/add on in IE. With FireFox I was able to set the plug in so that it would always ASK me what to do if it detected I was going to look at a PDF. I could either open it or save it. IE does not give me that option.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've never had this issue up until today. I manually shutdown my laptop at the log-in screen and from there all my issues began. When I started up my system the "Windows Reboot Manager" popped up which had never popped up before so I just chose Windows 7 and it began up just fine. Well once I got to the log-in page I typed in my password. It was a no go and after using the keypad it worked just fine. Well when I opened up Microsoft Word 2007 to see what the issue was I discovered that by pressing specific number keys it would include a letter.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi'm having huge issues with window refreshing, and it's not limited to browsers.what happens is the active window just begins automatically refreshing rapidly, as if you are holding down the f5 key. it makes the system unresponsive, and if you are in the middle of a document or something it basically wipes it out if using the browser at the timehere is an example of it happening even with the task managerInternet - win7 sp1 active window refresh bug
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm currently experiencing a strange problem with my laptop. Whenever I certain gaming program run in the background (not in focus) the applications seem to shift back and forth from from "Running" and "Not Responding" almost like it constantly refreshes itself (every 3 or so seconds). However, if I keep one of those programs in focus, the problem doesn't occur as often. The task bar always seems to be moving as a result of this (almost doing a dance if I open enough programs that have this problem).I've tried updating drivers, installed all service packs, scanned computer with Malware Bytes, Norton.I'm using Windows 7, 64 bit 6.1 (7061), ATI Mobile Radeon HD 5650
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently started having an issue whereby my desktop icons (and by extension the icons in the start bar) keep refreshing. It's not a constant thing - usually several minutes pass between refreshes - and I'm not entirely sure what's triggering it or why it keeps on happening, still less how to go about fixing it. A scheduled system scan for viruses last night came up negative, so did a quick scan I ran this evening. On the advice of a user in another thread about the same issue, I've also downloaded Malwarebytes and ran a full scan using that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNow, everytime I try to login in the control panel of a game I play -> link, the page just refreshes and I won't be logged in. This only seems to happen for Google Chrome, I tried it on Firefox and I could get in just fine.
This is also a newly-built and freshly installed computer, not even a week's age yet. This is also the first time I'll be on Windows 7, my old PC was Win XP, and I could login the site using Chrome just fine, so I'm inclined to say it's the OS, but my friend has Win7 too and he could get in just fine.
I cant use task manager cause it keeps refreshing and i cant even click on a program! .I have had expirences with this on tortoiseSVN, a svn program for garry's mod. I think its a conflict. Oh yes 1 more thing, when i click out of the window, it goes back to normal, when i click on the window again, it starts refreshing again non-stop.

View 12 Replies View Relatedhow to make W7 explorer display the file tree the same way that XP did? The W7 way is a total mishmash, IMHO. I can't understand the directory structure. The indentation on the display is very slight and hard to see so that it is very hard to tell where a subdirectory starts and ends. It takes a long time to fill in the file structure so that after several seconds, even minutes, the display is still jumping around. There are a lot of things that I like about W7 but this is NOT one of them. I use windows explorer a lot.

I would like to know if there is a way, when you start up your PC, so that windows would log you in automatically without you having to click on your user account everytime. There surely must be some registry fix/tweak for that? Security is not an issue for me, don't use a password anyways.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with my notebook. I recently decided to turn on the screensaver to "blank" after 10 minutes and set the power managemet to never turn off the display under either power condition. I would leave my computer for 10 minutes or so and then when I would come back, I was logged out. Yes, I mean logged out as in all open, running applications were closed, not just at the login screen. I searched the web and found many others with a similar problem. Most replies refer to the check box on the screensaver setup page that says "on resume, display logon screen." This is quite different though as even with that checked, the current user is not actually logged off and the running applications are not shutdown. I (and others with this problem) are actually being logged off. Incidentally, the box is not checked, and now the screensaver is diabled. Power management is set to never turn anything off, ever. I still have the problem. I then saw a post that said I needed to uncheck the "require password to logon" option in the user settings. Seemed odd since my computer worked as it should for the last 9 months with that option checked (by default), but I gave it a try. The system still logs me out. I then went back to the screensaver and re-enabled it with the "bubbles" but this time, I set the timeout to 9999 minutes, figuring that it would then take a week of idle time before it logged me out, if in fact that was the problem. Didn't work, still being logged out with applications running. I have searched all over the web, but can't find a solution.
