Win 7 Freezes My Adsl Modem From Time To Time
This is a very weird network problem. I have an ADSL modem cum router (huawei mt882). I connect my windows7 laptop to it via an ethernet cable. My problem is that sometimes (like once every 20 min) my modem gets stuck. Its lights start blinking in a pattern i.e. link light will stay on for 1 sec then it will go off, then other lan lights will glow for 1 sec and then they will go off. This continues for a 30 or so seconds. All this while, internet connection is lost in all computers connected to the modem. The modem resumes normal functionality after 30 seconds. I am sure that the cause of this is win7 coz it doesnt happen when any other machine is connected to the modem. I also have ubuntu on this laptop and when i run ubuntu this problem does not occur.

USB ZTE Modem Driver
I have a problem, with a USB modem, the USB ZTE modem, Type MODEM 3G multi-mode, GSM / GPRS / EDGE / WCDMA / HSDPA. This device is not identified by the system. As you plug it in, nothing happens because windows doesn't recognize it at all as a modem. The driver doesnt work. I supose It will need a brand new driver in order to work. So Microsoft windows 7 developers, wake up and begin to work on a solution. This kind of modems are getting more and more used.

Huawei E169 USB 3g Modem Driver
I can't get my Huawei 169 modem to function in Windows 7, I've tried both build 6801 and 6956 -same result As soon as I plug the modem in Windows 7 recognizes it as a usb disk, I can access the disk and launch the on board installer. I've downloaded the latest driver from the Huawei site, but the installer fails with the error "can't find any modem" If I do a hardware scan in the device manager only the usb disk turns up, but not the modem. I'm using this modem on this laptop in both WinXP and OSX without any problems, so the modem and PC is allright... Is there any special windows 7 services that I need to start?

USB Modem Driver USBSER.SYS Does Not Install
The company I work for has a product with a USB Device port implementing the CDC class. Our driver is based on Microsoft's USBSER.SYS driver and we provide the specific INF files so that our product installs as a virtual COM port or as a Modem. It works well on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit versions but I fail to install the same driver for the Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise trial version. The error message is: Windows was unable to install your unknown device. Windows could not find driver software for your device. If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software. Does anyone have any insight on the possible reason for failure and how we can fix our driver?

Modem Driver Problem / Samsung Rant (M540) Phone
i just installed Windows 7 64bit. I use a Samsung Rant m540 Cell Phone for my Internet connection. I cant get high speed on my road so its alot better than dial up, anyway ive used it for a few years and now i cant seem to get it installed. It works fine on other comps and i had a driver for win xp 64bit that works. I got it installed on the windows 7 and it shows up as the modem and says its working properly but it wont respond when i try to query the modem or connect to the Internet. Im pretty sure i just need a driver for the windows 7 for the phone as modem. But Sprint does not have a driver or program which supports it and neither does Samsung which created the phone. I googled for at least 5 hours with no success ive tried a few different drivers and no luck.

Driver For Internal WWAN Modem On Sony Vaio VGN-P19VN/Q
I suspect the answer to this question is 'wait for the launch date' but thought I'd try anyway. I have a Sony Vaio VGN-P19VN/Q - the little one with the Intel Atom processor and built-in 'everywair' wireless adaptor. Performance has always been a little 'iffy' with Vista, so when the RTC beta version of Windows 7 came out, I installed that as an up-grade and was really pleased with the performance improvement. Since then, my employer, a University, has decided to jump straight from XP to 7 and we got hold of the 'Enterprise' version of 7 a little while ago. I installed this on my P-series with great glee, but, unfortunately, was unable to perform an upgrade from the 'ultimate' beta to the 'enterprise' copy, so had to do a clean install. All went well and everything works fine except the 'everywair' modem, which comes up as an 'unknown device' on the system info and I've tried everything (in terms of driver detection software, downloading and installing the vista drivers etc) to get it back up and running. I also have an 02 usb stick modem, which I;ve managed to get to work via a manual set up and a bit of tweaking, and the standard wireless card works fine, so I'm not destitute, just annoyed that one aspect of a very useful little machine doesn;t function anymore. As I said, I suspect the answer is 'wait for Sony to release the driver, you impatient early-adopter' but thought I'd just check! Sony, interestingly, haven't replied to my support query!

WP61R2 64bit Driver
I installed Windows 7 a few months ago. I am using a Gateway DX4200, now I decided that I need to use Wireless Connection. I downloaded the Vista 64bit driver from the Gateway site. It had the .inf file, so I right clicked and clicked Install. I got the following error message, Code: The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation Tried to find the actual driver, and failed to. The full file name that I got from Gateway site was, WLAN_Pro-Net_WP61R_WP61R2_Vx64. Can anyone find that driver for me, or help me resolve the Installation issue?

Synaptics Serial Driver For W7 64bit
My Windows 7 64 bit install is all good except for the Synaptics touchpad integrated into my keyboard. It is recognized as a Microsoft Serial Mouse, but the latest Synaptics drivers don't seem to 'do' serial. I have tried the new 14.0 driver, as well as an older 9.0 version designed for 64 bit Vista, but to no avail. I've also tried a serial to PS/2 to USB conversion, and though the touchpad is then recognized as an HID compliant mouse, I can't get it recognized as a touchpad with scrolling, etc. I can't use it as a PS/2 mouse because my new motherboard only has a PS/2 keyboard connector.

Printer Sharing Driver Issues - 32bit Vs. 64bit
I have read on this forum a few people with printer sharing issues, but my problem seems to be a bit different, heres my problem: I have a HP Server that is running XP Pro 32bit, & has a HP Laserjet 1220 printer shared across the network on a parallel port, all machines running XP (32bit & 64bit) connect with no problems, no drivers needed. I then installed Windows 7 32bit on a old laptop of mine, this also connects to printer over network, no drivers needed. I then installed 64bit 7 on my PC & another laptop, both of these machine could not connect to the printer, they can see the printer with no problems, but when I go connect, it says something like loading driver, then connecting to windows update, then comes up with an error & says driver not found. It gives me an option to load the correct drivers myself, which I have been unable to do, the drivers for the printer are part of the XP & Vista & Windows 7 CDDVD, HP says the printer will work with 32 & 64bit, no Windows 7 drivers (32 or 64bit) or Vista(32 or 64bit) are on the HP site for this printer.
