Iv just bought a new PC, I put the vista CD in the drive and power up the computer. A screen appears saying "windows is loading files" and a bar that slowly fills up.Once the bar is full (suggesting all the files have been loaded), a new bar appears with microsoft corporation written underneath it.From looking at online install guides it appears that there should be a moving green block within this new bar however, it is completely empty and nothing happens. I have tried to install several times and left it for 40 mins or so each time, but i keep getting the same problem - i get to that stage and it seems the install freezes.
I get the screen that says "Windows is loading files", and then I get the screen with the loading bar at the bottom (the one that looks a bit like the standard Windows XP loading bar) and then the screen goes black and nothing happens. I've tried leaving it for a good half hour, still to no avail.
I have an old windows 95 computer with Works 4.0 which has templates. I have copied them and installed them on to a computer with windows Vista and Works 9 When I open the template I get the following message. "There was an error loading data, your document appears to corrupted. Click yes to continue loading and display other errors, or click no to continue loading and suppress further errors. "Nothing happens if I click yes, but if I click no I get another message that says " 34 errors were found when database was opened." Click ok and the template opens and works ok, but things are missing in the template when you print it out. Is there a way to repair the errors?
First after doing an ordinary restart, my vista (ultimate) gets stuck for a LONG time at the loading screen and does not move, with the green loading bars. this happens every time i try to restart. i pop in my original vista disk and start the repair process...it says it found something wrong with my startup and it found what was wrong and that it was repaired. after this i get the message NTLDR, which is a whole nother problem. i ran the below to fix the NTLDR...
1. Put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer. 2. Press a key when you are prompted. 3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next. 4. Click Repair your computer............
I have a problem with Vista. When I start my computer, it displays a black screen for a couple of minutes before starting to load Vista. I don't really know what to say more, since I'm totally clueless with this one. What I've tried to do, is to update my drivers. I've also updated my BIOS. What should I try next?
I want it to run Windows Vista 32-Bit Edition. I had Linux Ubuntu 6.06 LTS, now I erased the linux partition and format the disk with a utility called Dban. I had to make a bootable CD in order to format it. When the disk was in blank I inserted the Windows Vista DVD and the screen said "Windows is loading files" then the progress bar of Windows Vista appears however it stops. I waited there 1 hour, but nothing happened so i thought it was because I didn't format it to NTFS. Then I used GParted to format it to NTFS. I tried again, however it gave me the same results.
The next time it started, the graphics were all screwed up and when it gets to thebit after the Windows Loading Bar it goes to a Blue Screen of Death. The computer then restarts and the same thing keeps happening. I tried running the computer in Safe Mode but it doesnt work either :/ neither do any of the other Advanced Options.
When I switch my laptop on, I get the following message: "WINDOWS FAILED TO START. A RECENT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CHANGE MIGHT BE THE CAUSE...". I then have the option to launch system repair or start windows normally. Either choice I make has the same consequences...a screen launches saying "loading windows files" Then I am taken to windows loading screen with little green bar. Then the screen goes black. Not off, just black. If I try and do a system recovery, I go through the same steps via f11 but then I get the 'blue screen'. I didn't create the boot disks that one is supposed to do when they get vista.
I am trying to boot into my Windows Vista Operating System, and it seems to freeze before the Welcome screen appears, is there a way that I can fix, this, the problem started straight after I had uploaded some pics from my Digital camera, I had already scanned the hard drive and I only found trojan horse virus in it, which is only one virus, can there be any other way to fix this?
Having trouble properly viewing XLS files in the Spread Sheet form of Microsoft Works. A calendar appears in irregular pieces and the message informs me that the task cannot be completed successfully (the exact wording escapes my memory). Is there a way to correct that?
Took out 2G ram as suggested - leaving 2G. Get through black screen with white bar "Windows loading files". Then blue screen with white horizontal bar for 35 minutes +/-. Then Install Now dialog box. Enter key code. Checks off "Copying files" Begins the "Expanding files" and goes to 11%.
Next message box: "Window cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error Cord: 0x8007045D. (Reviewing this error in the knowledge base does not seem to speak to a new installation.)
I reviewed my MOBO instructions and I quote: "It is important to remember that before installing the driver CD that is shipped in the kit, you need to load you operating system." So what drivers does the Vista software think it needs? I spent more than 3 phone hours with Microsoft help and they had me putting in my Win 98 disc made a royal mess of my situation. I'm back now to the beginning and yet still no installation.
when i try to send email, a quick flash appears on the screen (like the action occurred successfully, very fast), but the message just goes to the outbox and is never sent, even upon prompt at program termination. i have checked all program and account settings, and everything is ok (especially the send messages immediately checkbox). i entered a secondary unrelated email address with different, known server addresses but the same thing occurred. i downloaded mozilla thunderbird and entered the primary email information and i could send messages with no problem. switching email programs permanately really is not a viable option at this point. this is not a server address problem, and the primary email does not require authentication.
I was hoping that some of you guys could help me with a problem. As the title says, my screen goes completely black after the loading screen with the green loading bar, but before the usual windows vista circle is supposed to appear. I have also tried to use a vista x64 recovery disk. Here I only get the blue background a mouse I can move around on the screen, meaning I have no options to choose from. Does anyone know what the problem might be? And if so, how to possibly fix it?

The loading bar screen would show up and then after that it would go black like usual, but then my monitor would show that there was no input available and the computer would hang in this state forever. Any suggestions? I know a new HD would probably fix it all but im not sure i really want to spend all the money, literally just built this baby 2 weeks ago!
where it boots up to the loading screen is fine, slows down and stops, then it will bring me to blue screen and restart to the point where it has black screen telling me boot up was unsuccessful, and i can go into all 3 safe modes or boot normally, have tried all of them and non of them even boot
A few days ago my display settings would not save and each time I restarted my computer they were different. I thought it would not get any worse however now when i start my computer the screen goes black just after the green loading bar. The computer is still on because it makes hard drive noises and my quickplay buttons are blue but the computer does not respond. It starts in safemode but it won't start normally. I have Vista Home Premium 32 Bit with Service Pack 1. Any help would be greatly appreciated to get rid of this black screen.
My computer is freaking out and i cant figure out why. I try to start it normally and it posts and I see the green loading bar for windows at the bottom of the screen and then the screen goes black. I can load into safemode but that is all. I can not restore sucessfully.
It boots on the F2 setup screen does several seconds of the loading bar, then my screen says 'no signal' and it goes back to the F2 setup screen and freezes. Then I have to turn of my computer by holding down the power button and start it again the second time where it boots fine.
RIght now im on the same computer on my BItdefender 2009/Iceweasel.So after i get a black sceen with a cursor that i can move where i want but it just stays like that.I tryed all the safe modes and they dont work at all.Plus i dont have a VistaDVD to make it worse.(My Original OS was Windows Vista Home Premium x32)I really dont know where the command prompt is on iceweasel but i know how to use it in vista.
For about 1-2 years my computer ran fine until recently. Now, whenever I start up my computer it boots all the way to the Vista loading screen, seems as if it loads all the way, then shuts down with no warning. This happens at the same point every time. I tried putting in the Vista DVD and starting that up in an attempt to reinstall or repair Vista, but I get the same results on the same loading screen. The computer is custom built by myself.
I've recently got attacked by some sort of virus malware and my AVG instantly asked me to reboot. After I rebooted and loaded the green loading bar, my entire screen turned black without the windows badge. When I clicked on the restart button, I'm able to get inside safe mode, network and command prompt but not start windows normally.. I've also tried chkdsk command but it showed 0 bad file.
Last night my pc was running fine and just before I went for some shut eye put my pc into sleep mode today I woke my pc only for it not to allow me to log on, mouse movement only nothing was clickable so after a short while I decided to reset upon boot I got the green loading bar but then a black screen after about 20 mins I gave up and tried a restore last good config.... Yeah nice one it bsod on me At 55% chkdsk and now I get a windows boot manager error file: ootcd
I tried Bootrec /RebuildBcd but it brings back an error that it can not create the new file as the file already exists. I'm not having much luck with the recovery disk for repair options as it can't seem to find the OS and brings back errors of can not recover everything seems on a go slow and ubuntu can't find my c drive even tried spin right and that can't recover a bad sector I'm at a loss as to what to do befor the fresh install option I'm on my last option to try use a back up store disk
Problem Blue Screen. No new hardware or software installed recently, last Windows vista update was on 01/15. When I start first, PC passes user registration (boots fine) and does the normal stuff like loading software and starting the wireless internet connection via Netgear, opening some windows/programms I will close. All normal, but than comes a Blue Screen and very fast shut down of system with restart. Hardly can read the message...Look like Blue Screen appears when to much action is going on like opening of IE and Outlook... or open to many windows... or some bad programm/hardware is booting. But when I restart, restart gives a different blue screens and trouble is much earlier or directly after registering to the system.
But all starting or booting turn slower, real slow now. Start in --safe mode with net working-- the PC works, but the PC can't handle heavy workloads, is really slow in action. I cannot open --My pictures-- to see all picture files displyed on screen (2.7 GB) (the process trying to access the files in safe mode is real slow) and when I attempt to transfer the file to a USB stick, the computer is stopping in middle of action (after 50% transfer)..........
New computer. Vista Home Premium. FSX continually stops loading and have to restart the loading process. Six times to get it loaded, but all sytems not functioning. Loaded Accelerator crashed whole system had to do repair of FSX and start over again with continual stoppage. Don't know where to go from here. It worked fine with XP
I have a Windows "proficiency test" as part of a job interview. Looking at the interview schedule, it appears to last around 20 minutes or so. If I've been using either '98 or xp over the last twelve years or so, is there anything I can do to prepare? I have a feeling this is a very rudimentary test for someone who's used Windows for many years, but I like to be on the safe side. Any sample tests available you know of?
Something is dead wrong with my Vista Premium. Whenever I open the Windows Update panel, an empty window appears for an instance, and then Windows Explorer crashes and restarts. On top of that, Windows Update crashes on occasion by itself for a couple of times and then settles down. I did check the disk for errors, ran the scanners, manually installed most relevant updates I could find including the System Update Readiness Tool, also renaming the software distribution folder and resetting ie7 -all in vain.
Once vista boots from the cd it goes to a windows is setting up files, then goes to a black screen where there is a lilttle green bar moving. Now right after that it goes to a blueish screen where there is just the mouse cursor on the screen and just stays there? This is on all new hardware. Also this is a sata hard drive,
I have a pc with windows xp media centre edition, running flight simmulator.. I installed the accelerator kit on it.. now its not starting up...getting blue screen saying either "uninstall your antivirus program or driver" I can not load it to safe mode to do that, I have run the repair from the recovery system still no luck.
I am building a new system and have a new copy of Vista Home Premium 32bit.
I got it all put together and tried to load Vista. It got to the Windows is loading files screen and then screen in getting black video. Keyboad and mouse stopped working at times. So I updated the board BIO's per intel through iso image and same thing. So I tried installing XP and got to the F8 screen to accept lic. and it just reboots everytime.
Any ideas why Vista would stop? Added the info about the XP install so it may help.
I've tried everything to fix my Dell Inspiron 1545 running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit and I can't seem to work out what to do anymore. My laptop automatically did some updates earlier today and I rebooted as advised, unfortunately it failed to load up at all and I got a screen telling me windows has failed to start. Problem could be due to a recent change of hardware or software. The only recent change being the updates. I've tried to do a system repair, which hasn't worked. All it does is load a blank screen with, eventually a movable mouse cursor, nothing else happens after. I've tried to load from the boot cd also, but I have the same problem.
The white bar loads, message saying windows is loading files then as soon as its passed the blank screen and mouse cursor come up. I can't load anything in safe mode as it just comes up with the windows failed to start message. I'm at a loss, I think. And if I can't reinstall windows then it looks like my laptop is messed up completely. All I haven't tried is perhaps loading safe mode with command prompt and trying to do a system restore, and Repair Install For Vista this, which I'm not quite sure I understand fully. I might have had SP1 installed already. Anyone got anything they can chuck my way to advise me to do? I haven't had the laptop all THAT long.
When I click on Windows Update, it just hangs with the circle cursor spinning. All that opens up is a white box, and nothing happens. I had no issues running Update 2 days ago. It just started this yesterday out of the blue. IDK if it is related, but I also can't update drivers in Device Mgr. It just keeps searching the web for drivers, and nothing ever happens.
