I was playing Crysis today and all of a sudden the game froze. I have a HP Presario xxx with Vista premium. Can anyone tell me how to fix it?" Example 2: "The Postmaster said my mail box is nearly full! I have a lot of messages in my sent Items folder, but Vista won’t let me delete them!? What do I do now?" This question is so vague that it leads to more questions than answers. This is an easy post to ignore! Example 3:.................
Installed vista on my gaming comp and had a Trendnet TFM-560x modem. Modem would connect between 42.5k-48k but would experience long pauses, high latency and disconnects. I replaced with a USR 5686E and first connect was 49.2k which immediately paused, experienced high latency and crashed the game I was playing. Updated firmware and drivers but modem connects anywhere from 28.8k-48k but experiences same problems as before. It's not the ISP or phone lines I've gone down those roads already,
I've recently reinstalled my vista on my laptop. I installed WoW and everything was okay.. But now, when I play and there is too many ppl around me or too many skills cast, im getting a black screen, like a flash of 2 - 3 secs and sometimes more.. Before i re installed vista, everything was okay, i could run WoW easily without any lags.. EDIT: When I got too many of those " black flashes " my pc crash..my pc specs sux but I could run WoW, counter-strike: source without any lags before..
When i start my computer my graphics card starts out like hot but not really hot when i start playing games is it because my fan has a lot of dirt in it and its heating up my computer or do i need a water cooler that bad?
Vista is constantly freezing up, and I really like to fix it, The cooling is good enough, The power is good enough, And the memory seems fine since I already did a memtest. It freezes at random times while doing things like browsing the web or playing a game, Ive used XP before and it had the same problem
I have just upgraded to Vista 64x SP1 and am having difficulties with Crysis / Crysis Warhead. My specific problem is that it is not allowing me to select resolutions higher than 1280. When I was running it on XP Pro 32 bit it was running at 1920 by 1080, and allowed me to select up to this resolution and all lower options.
I am particularly confused because: Far Cry 2 runs in 1920 * 1080 without problems My desktop is set at 1920 * 1080 I have tried creating a autoexec.cfg file in the game directories forcing the width and height without success I have reinstalled the latest vista 64x CCC and drivers I have tried reinstalling both games completely without success thewre is no scroll bar on the right in the resolution options which I have forgot to use I upgraded to a 64x system specifically for Crysis / CW as I understood it would improve performance and I wanted to see the DX10 effect - needless to say I am very frustrated as a result!
First switch on, got to Welcome screen and froze, restarted now all it does is Start Case fan and CPU fan after 2-3 seconds, runs for 10 seconds and switches off, then restarts and keeps going through same procedure, over and over. On motherboard is a row of 6 LED's showing CPU loading, all six lit each time it starts? I've a horrible feeling the CPU is kaput.
Yesterday I believe an update came when I stepped away from my pc for about 45 minutes. I had been able to use the pc up until then when the mouse and key board froze. I attempted to reboot and could not. 95 errors posted in the event log. Most these where WMI (source) and the event ID was 24. I cannot find a solution, and I am not that well knowing a lot. I can probably make the corrections if I have a solution given to me.
This morning my computer froze so I shut it down to restart. Upon restart, everything was gone (music, documents, pictures). My control panel is also showing empty. Its like it restored itself to factory defaults.
the game has installed but once tryin to load it says this
Error3:
Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for ( The game) (suberror 7). Your video card must support hardware acceleration and have at least 15 megabytes of video Ram available. i fyour video card doesnt support compressed textures it must have at least 64 megabytes if video RAM available.
I have tried going into the display settings and advanced settings then troubleshooting but my computer does not allow me to change it as the icon is grayed out.
the details of my graphics card are
operating system: windows vista tm home premium (6.0, build 6001)
new to the forum and dont have much computer experience. But im having this problem for Counter-Strike 1.6. I've downloaded steam and got all the updates. When I try to connect to a server to play, the box would show "Establishing connection to network server.." with 3 bar and froze. The only way out would be Ctrl+Alt+Del and End Task. At first, I thou it was Windows Firewall and the router. After I've disable both, still no luck. A friend is having the same issue and hes also running Vista x64.
I tried to install vista service pack it froze at 18% for 4 hours so i used my recovery disc to no avail anyways here s the real problem i bought my pc from PC world i am in the uk by the way it came with xp media centre but when i bought it i got a free up grade to vista home premium after a long wait the discs for vista arrived and i installed the program with no problems but since i tried the service pack it has all gone wrong i ended up having to reinstall xp with my recovery disc then put vista back in when i done this it asked for an activation key but i never ever got one as the first time i installed it.
My step father has a Window Vista Home Premium 32Bit on a HP Pavillion DV 9000 Laptop His screen had froze so he did a hard shut down on it and when he tried to load it back up it would go through the green bar for about 5 to ten minutes then it would freeze at a black screen and the way i know its frozen is that the little light that tells you the computer is thinking is permanently on. HP did not send us any disks with this laptop so recovery through disk isnt possible,
I downloaded an ISO image of a WinRE about a month ago when we had problems with a virus and i had to do a system restore and i tried to boot from disk with that and it did the same thing as when booting normally. Is it possible there is a file in the System32 file that got corrupted or deleted and if so is there a way of finding out which file and is it fixable if i can access the hard drive and hook it up to a working computer? I have a case that can make a laptop hard drive into an external one to access from a desktop.
Just got Vista (32). Battlefield 1942 expansion installed fine. runs for a second or 2 then crashes. Tried to reinstal, same thing. Came up with (game failed, game closing)?
About six weeks ago I had an issue with my computer that seems to be related to an update downloaded at that time. I had Automatic Update set to download and install updates automatically and after one such update, the computer instructed me to restart which I did. All went well until I logged in. The log in screen came up, I logged in and hit enter and the desktop started to load...and froze there. I restarted in safe mode and system restore failed. I called Dell and they walked me through diagnostics until they were fairly sure that it was not a hardware problem. I finally got it to reboot from the Windows disk that came with the computer, but the problem persisted. No error message, no lights, no beeps. Just frozen at the same place at the same time. In addition, each time I had to hold the power button down to reboot, my RAID array would have to 're-verify' the data on both disks which would take about 4 hours before I could even think of doing anything with the box.
Finally Dell had me restore the system from a partition on my hard drive which reset the computer to how it was from the factory... It worked fine till I downloaded the updates again. The last bunch included a Vista security update and a bunch of Office updates. I had to Factory Image reinstall again. I have now shut off my Auto Update. It tells me that there are updates to download, but I have not done any of them in the last month........
A friend has an Acer Desktop with Vista. It was installing the latest Windows updates, and 'hung / froze' ( her words ) Now, when it starts, it displays the BIOS screen? Obviously some sort of major problem? I was going to try the Recovery Console first?
With my system specs (you can see below on system specs button)
i get on average 30-40 fps on a high w/ 1680x1050 resolution. on a 23 inch acer monitor. Does anyone think thats good? how much do you guys get and make sure to put if your cards are in crossfire/SLI
i have a single MSI HD 4870 1 GB with 4 GB RM XMS2 w/ Heat Spreader Corsair @ 800 mhz and an Intel Q9650 @ 3.0 ghz. running it all with a p45 chipset (p5q Pro Turbo)
Is anyone else having problem starting crysis warhead singleplayer? When i start game it says i need an internet connection. BS, there is nothing wrong with my Pc or connecting online, everything works fine except warhead. Not sure why singleplayer needs internet? Is it a bug in the game or what.
I just installed Crysis and have it running on 64 bit. I can only play for a short while until it either freezes or does the thing where windows closes it out saying it stop responding.
Windows Update downloaded Vista sp1 and appeared to be installing it successfully. However at the end of the process the screen froze on a line showing this series of numbers: !! OXC190036 !! 4089/66075 (RESCINST.DLL)
I had to cut the power to turn the computer off and have been unable to boot up. Every attempt to boot fails and ends with the same line.
Recently ive been trying to encode video using Convertxtodvd but it always crashed after about 5 mins. I switched to TMPG dvd author and all was fine i could encode my video. Today i installed Crysis on my pc. My pc froze completely after about 10 mins of playing it. The sound was repeating itself and the computer didnt respond to anything.
I had to restart the comp, i then loaded it up again for it to crash after about 20 mins of playing. Im not really sure what to do. Not sure if its my hardware or software. Im using vista 32bit but i tried installing windows xp pro and the same freezes occured.
I have just re installed crysis today on my system and all was fine, I played it for a few hours on high settings and max res. I went to work and got home tried to load it and it begins to load then 20 seconds in causes my system to restart....
I have a GTS 250 and when playing Crysis on Very High 0xAA 1024x768 i get horrible framerates. (12-18FPS) I change everything to LOW settings and the frames still are the same.
I am using vista home premium 32 bit. specs. core 2 duo 2.2 ghz. ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics card. 2 gb ram. it says that my card can play crysis at low graphics.
i have crysis warhead installed on my rig in this folder C:Program FilesElectronic ArtsCrytekCrysis WARHEAD. i have downloaded the 1.01 patch (or something like that) and the 1.1 patch, i am 100% sure it is for warhead and not wars. when i launch either patch i get this. also, does anybody have any idea when te Sandbox editing thing is released.......ive wanted to play it soooooooooo much for about a year and was pretty disapointed when i realised warhead doesnt have it, but i have heard that it was going to be released soon.....i heard this about 6 months ago. i have tried: running as admin re dl'in running in compat xp 32 mode. my system specs are in that special box....but i dont think that really has much to do with it..
This problem began to be noticed on vista, but the vista laptop was too slow to really get into crysis. Crashes such as this one occur on both. In additon, Crysis may also fail to menu, and be resumed with the resume game selection. This is a new win 7 system with a quad core AMD Phenom II at 3.2ghz, not overclocked, and a Diamond MM HD4890 video card also not overclocked. 4G OCX 1066 memory (dual channel) on an Asus M4A79 Deluxe MBD. Video driver is ATI's last release. I seem to remember that there might have been a reversion to an older copy of MSVCR80.dll in order to patch some ATI video drivers. The list at the bottom identifies the dash numbers I found on the system. The system was fully patched as of yesterday morning. Crysis has the Crysis update patches as well.
