Crysis Freezes
May 4, 2008I just installed Crysis and have it running on 64 bit. I can only play for a short while until it either freezes or does the thing where windows closes it out saying it stop responding.

Crysis / Crysis Warhead Resolutions
Feb 10, 2009I have just upgraded to Vista 64x SP1 and am having difficulties with Crysis / Crysis Warhead. My specific problem is that it is not allowing me to select resolutions higher than 1280. When I was running it on XP Pro 32 bit it was running at 1920 by 1080, and allowed me to select up to this resolution and all lower options.
I am particularly confused because: Far Cry 2 runs in 1920 * 1080 without problems My desktop is set at 1920 * 1080 I have tried creating a autoexec.cfg file in the game directories forcing the width and height without success I have reinstalled the latest vista 64x CCC and drivers I have tried reinstalling both games completely without success thewre is no scroll bar on the right in the resolution options which I have forgot to use I upgraded to a 64x system specifically for Crysis / CW as I understood it would improve performance and I wanted to see the DX10 effect - needless to say I am very frustrated as a result!
How Many FPS Do YOU Get On Crysis?

i get on average 30-40 fps on a high w/ 1680x1050 resolution. on a 23 inch acer monitor. Does anyone think thats good? how much do you guys get and make sure to put if your cards are in crossfire/SLI
i have a single MSI HD 4870 1 GB with 4 GB RM XMS2 w/ Heat Spreader Corsair @ 800 mhz and an Intel Q9650 @ 3.0 ghz. running it all with a p45 chipset (p5q Pro Turbo)
Crysis Crash
Mar 23, 2008Every time i play Crysis i crashes after i short while. I've tried to install all new drivers for motherboard, Vista, Graphic Card and sound card.
It almost always comes with the message "nvlddmkm driver" failed.
What does this mean?
How can I run Crysis without crashes?

Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 Ghz
4 GB RAM (3327 MB)
Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit
Gainward 8800GTX 768 MB graphic card
ASUS P5K motherboard
Is Crysis Compatible With 64?
Sep 9, 2009I downloaded the Cyrsis demo, which worked on my XP machine in the past, yet Im getting some strange results with vista.
After i install it, i cant find it anywhere, its like its not installing even though it appears to install and i dont get any error messages.
There is nothing in my "all programs" or program files folder to indicate it even exists.
Ive reinstalled it mulitple times with the same results.
Crysis Warhead?
Sep 26, 2008Is anyone else having problem starting crysis warhead singleplayer? When i start game it says i need an internet connection. BS, there is nothing wrong with my Pc or connecting online, everything works fine except warhead. Not sure why singleplayer needs internet? Is it a bug in the game or what.

Sep 3, 2009I've an Asus f5sl laptop with Vista Home Premium (32bit) but it's been freezing on me lately. When I boot up, it gets to the black screen with the green bar but after a few seconds, the green bar freezes and I can't log in. Occasionally it boots up after around half an hour but then Vista periodically freezes for a few seconds before resuming (which is annoying when trying to write out something etc)
I don't see any problems in Safe Mode so is possibly a driver? I've updated all my drivers, completely updated using WIndows Update, ran antispyware, used System Restore etc. Only problem is; I've moved to a new country, and like a fool, I left my Vista start up disk back home. Which I would otherwise have tried.

May 12, 2008Recently ive been trying to encode video using Convertxtodvd but it always crashed after about 5 mins. I switched to TMPG dvd author and all was fine i could encode my video. Today i installed Crysis on my pc. My pc froze completely after about 10 mins of playing it. The sound was repeating itself and the computer didnt respond to anything.
I had to restart the comp, i then loaded it up again for it to crash after about 20 mins of playing. Im not really sure what to do. Not sure if its my hardware or software. Im using vista 32bit but i tried installing windows xp pro and the same freezes occured.

Oct 22, 2009This problem began to be noticed on vista, but the vista laptop was too slow to really get into crysis. Crashes such as this one occur on both. In additon, Crysis may also fail to menu, and be resumed with the resume game selection. This is a new win 7 system with a quad core AMD Phenom II at 3.2ghz, not overclocked, and a Diamond MM HD4890 video card also not overclocked. 4G OCX 1066 memory (dual channel) on an Asus M4A79 Deluxe MBD. Video driver is ATI's last release. I seem to remember that there might have been a reversion to an older copy of MSVCR80.dll in order to patch some ATI video drivers. The list at the bottom identifies the dash numbers I found on the system. The system was fully patched as of yesterday morning. Crysis has the Crysis update patches as well.

Don't Play High Demanding Ons Such As Crysis
May 15, 2010I want to buy the alienware M15x, I want to configure it so it has a 1GB ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 5730 and a Slot-Loading Dual Layer Blu-ray Reader (BR-ROM, DVD+-RW, CD-RW)which will make the Lappy $1399....Would it be able to play StarCraft II when it comes out? Diablo 3? Sims 3? World of WarCraft? All of these games at high settings? I love video games, but I don't play high demanding ons such as crysis or other games like it, pretty much the posted games above are what I play. Is it worth the price? and will it last me for many years graphics card wise? can the video card be replaced if i want to upgrade? if so how much

Apr 12, 2008I am having what seems to be the common problem of trying to run the 64 bit version of crysis and getting a black screen then crash right after launching the game. I have done a lot of searching and did a few of the suggestions like uninstalling the Nvidia Network Access Manager, changed my settings to force vsync both on and off, and set single display performance mode. I have tried both exes in the 64bin file, launching from the vista game explorer and my drivers are up to date. Also like others the 32bit version works fine. I have also reinstalled the game.

Aug 24, 2008Haven't tried VMware on my Vista 64, though I have tried microsoft's own offering using my Windows Vista 64 system as a host to a Windows XP 32 guest. I installed Crysis in to my virtualized Windows XP 32 system but when I insert the disc in to DVD drive Crysis tells me it needs an original disc not a back up, [ and that is the original disc ] so I can't figure out why it thinks it is a back-up.

May 30, 2009have been experiencing frequent crashes, freezes, and BSOD lately and after some research decided the video card/driver might be a likely culprit. ran memtest just prior to see if RAM might be the issue; no errors. uninstalled video driver; and was prompted to restart to finalize removal of old driver. however, the system now freezes on startup at the welcome screen when starting normally or in safe mode.

Aug 19, 2009After booting up the computer the desktop freezes immediately. If it doesn't freeze up immediately I'll have some functionality, but minimal. I'll no longer have access to the internet (no network adapter present), can't run programs (they fail to open) or can't install programs/updates. I have even gotten a couple of Blue screen error messages such as: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
In safe mode with networking I do have access to the internet. When I try to download updates in safe mode I can't because Install shield will not work, or some other excuse. There are no restore points to restore to. There was a Windows Framework update on August 7th. I tried to uninstall it, but apparently it was never installed properly. No blue screens while in Safe Mode. I've been trying to problem solve this on my own, but with my limited computer repair skills I'm scared to try things.
Boots, Then Freezes
Sep 22, 2009online backup installed an update on my extremely stable Vista Home Premium. It asked me to reboot and when I clicked reboot, the system froze up. Every time I boot, it will freeze within seconds of loading the desktop.
I would seriously love to get this fixed as I have reinstalled Vista 4x, the last being 18-months ago
How may I resolve OR troubleshoot this issue? I have done a restore point back 2 weeks, but thats as far as I can go without getting an error.

Laptop Freezes More Often
Jun 7, 2008i'm running Vista Home Premium on my laptop, 2 gb ram & it freezes. It freezes more often when left alone for 10-20min. Sometimes when moving the mouse it freezes. Task mgr. will not open so i have to shut down system. At times i get a error message & my hd is being scanned.

Mar 5, 2009I am having problems with my new Vista Machine. Any game I play on it ranging from "Fable-The lost Chapters" to "Call of duty 5-World at War" all freeze. They freeze at random times, it is not constant. Every time It Freezes, I can't do anything but hard reset, also there are no error messages or BSOD. I have checked the ram with memtest and all sticks passed, I checked the ram's timings and voltages, they are set to what the manual and sticker says. I checked the temperatures,everything runs at around 32-40 degrees. I have updated every driver on my rig, and reinstalled Vista, but the problem persists.

May 28, 2007Today I was starting up my Custom Vista computer bought of Ebay as usual. The progress bar when starting that goes from left to right froze after liker 3 seconds. I restarted my PC using the button located on the actual computer. Then it prompted me to go into Safe Mode or Normal Mode. I went into normal mode and the same thing happened. I tried to restore my computer to an earlier date, which restored successfully, but it still freezes. I am now in Safe Mode with Networking and dont know how to get to Full Mode without it freezing.

Aug 20, 2009I just did a clean install of Vista ultimate x64. I'm having a problem, though. It seems to be very unstable when I'm starting up - if I try to open programs while the OS is still loading all my run-at-startup programs, it'll just lock up. That's not the biggest problem, though. For some reason, if I try to install ANYTHING (i.e. quicktime, my video drivers, the windows updates), the computer will install it until it gets to about 20-25% of the install, and then just slow down to a complete stop. Like, at first the progress bar won't advance. After that, the desktop icons won't highlight when you mouse over them. Then you can't move windows (minimize, maximize, etc.), and finally, you can't move your mouse.
I just had vista ultimate x64 working on my computer a few days ago, and it was stable. I had to reinstall it because I downloaded window's updates, and there's one that (after some research) I found can cause some computers to not be able to boot. I suffered that problem.
Network Freezes The Pc
Aug 29, 2008PC1 Vista Ultimate, main PC for file sharing. PC2 Vista Ultimate, "sees" PC1, can access shared folders on PC1. PC3 Mac running OSX, "sees" PC1, can access shared folders on PC1. As soon as any shared file (not folder) is accessed on PC1 from PC2 or PC3, PC1 freezes and needs to be restarted. All PC's show up on each others network maps. If a file on PC1 is opened, copied, or a file is sent to PC1, it freezes.
This happens with or without firewall running. My setup intention is to have PC1 hosting all the shared files and PC2 and PC3 can grab files off PC1 as well as put files on PC1. This is my first attempt at networking so bear with me. I have all computers talking to each other, just PC1 freezes during and shared file attempt.
PC Freezes For Few Seconds
Jun 23, 2008My Vista Ultimate-SP1 PC continuously freezes for a few seconds, it freezes then I hear a "click" noise coming from my hard drives and it works again for a while...after a couple of minutes or even less it happens again.. I have all the Vista updates and all my software and drivers up to date, I have already unsuccessfully tried everything and I' don't know how to solve this. I have not reformatted to reinstall Vista, as I learnt searching Google that other Vista users are suffering an identical problem even after several clean Vista Installs.
