i encounter for quite a while now is that when i download emails it only receive one or two at a time. So every time i need to click on the send and receive or wait untill it downloads on its own time. i tried several conections and can not remember changing any settings.
View 5 RepliesThe clock on my computer has changed from 12 hour to 24 hour. When I go into set date/time, the clock face just shows regular 12 hour, but display is 24 hr. time. I can't find anywhere to select 12 or 24 hr.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have setup a friends vista mail to authenticate via pacbell.net's servers for outgoing mail. All works well for a few days, then stops working. Upon re examination of the mail settings, the smtp port has reverted to 25 (set manually to 460 something) and the use ssl checkbox is unchecked. I have showed my friend how to re-set the settings so he is not losing much sleep over this one, but it annoys me.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a very annoying problem with my Intel DG45ID motherboard. I am noticing that my Vista power configuration setting are changing automatically! I will set my monitor to go to standby after 20-minutes and for the computer to go to sleep after 30-minutes of idle activity. Everything is fine for a week or two, then suddenly I notice that they are both set to "Never". Anybody have this issue? Alternately, is there some sort of log that I can look at to see what might have changed these settings?

After doing that I went onto the internet and connected with time.nist.gov and checked the time. After that I was no longer able to go into the internet time tab. It tells me that time.nist.gov is the time connection and I can't change it. It tells me I need to have permission to do this as administrator. I am the administrator! What goes here?

HP Update recommends downloading and installing "NVIDIA Unified Graphic Update", 74.4 MB, taking an estimated 4.3 hours on my dial-up connection. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have several email accounts configured on my windows mail on my Vista home premium and one of them is configured as the default email. When I reply to emails received on email accounts other than the default email the "from" email address does not change to the email address of the received account.
I understand that the email address in the "from' field when I start a "new" message or create mail is that of the configured default email. My question is while replying to an email received in other configured accounts should not the "from" field email id change from the default email id to the email address of the email to which is replied.
When I do Ctrl-F3, the page is blank. Not only that, they are all time-stamped early this morning, before I started the machine and after the time I shut down last night (after checking email.) Emails that are time-stamped after the time I logged on are OK, it just appears to be ones that were downloaded when I first logged on. Fortunately, they all seem to be SPAM or worse, and I'm pretty sure I'm the one who deleted them, since none of them match any of my rules and I don't usually delete messages from the Junk Mail folder. Nevertheless, it bugs me.Is it possible that the lack of compacting has anything to do with this? I had turned off the automatic compacting out of habit, never having trusted OE to do that at shutdown, preferring to do it manually. Now, every week or two, I change the setting to "1" and shut WM down, but I've been lax over the last month or so. On that note, is there a way to initiate compacting without going through such gyrations? Or is WM not so touchy about this operation as OE? Should I leave it enabled? If so, what's the recommended interval?

"All your emails are coming through as "Malevolent and Phishing" and go to my junk mail box"! I'm certainly not Phishing - nor am I malevolent! I am, though, using an iMac with OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) and Apple Mail Version 4.2. Is there a setting in Vista which needs to be 'adjusted' so that my friend won't receive warnings on receipt of email messages from me?

I have had trouble with the Sky email log in passwords but now it seems to accept the one I have first time. A site named "Thundercloud" has instructions they say will allow you to send etc. If I read the instructions correctly it should work for Vista and my winmail.

This is the error message when i go in to windows mail. I have had my laptop and norton antivirus the same for the past year and last week I started getting this message. I have two other pc's in the house and everything is fine on those to access my mail. I have deleted the account and tried to reconfigure it but it is still the same.

Been using Home Premium 64 SP1 on HP Pavilion dv7-211 laptop for about 3 months. Still using 98SE on two desktops and XP on another laptop. I'm 75 and my memory has not improved with age, so I may not remember everything correctly. My best recollection is that I didn't have the problem until recently. Every time I totally shut down I lose my resolution setting. It always returns to the lowest resolution. I've looked through the other posts and didn't spot this kind of problem.
