Email Settings: Junk Mail

It has the Windows Vista OS installed (an upgrade to 7 is available FOC). He is now using --> X-Mailer: Microsoft Windows Mail 6.0.6001.18000. He tells me .... "All your emails are coming through as "Malevolent and Phishing" and go to my junk mail box"! I'm certainly not Phishing - nor am I malevolent! I am, though, using an iMac with OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) and Apple Mail Version 4.2. Is there a setting in Vista which needs to be 'adjusted' so that my friend won't receive warnings on receipt of email messages from me?

using vista windows mail program it marks almost all incoming e-mail as spam, it does not move them to junk mail folder for which I am grateful I have added senders to safe list and marked not as spam but it still continues to mark as spam how can I get it to stop

This has just come in, and was captured by my phishing filter. I have since deleted it as I suspect its authenticity; If it is legit, then the sender is doing the very action that Users are being firmly and constantly warned against.

Recently I had to restore my computer and now I am finding that I have a lot of junk mail going into my regular mail and not into the junk file. Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

When I empty the junk email folder, it only does the last one. I am getting a message that says it the update does not apply to my system. This is a vista machine running nortan 360.

I've tried dozen of times to install this update, but always failed. I have even downloaded it manually from Microsoft website, but no luck. Any idea what might be causing the problem? Office SP2 and Vista SP2 installations worked as a charm, no issues. EDIT: This is the logfile I get: Description: An error report containing information about the updates that failed installation has been generated. Update for Outlook 2007 Junk Email Filter (kb970012) failed to install.

i just installed the latest windows live mail beta software client and i wanted to know how do i get junk mail to be displayed automatically ? before it would show automatically on the layout of the reading pane to the right of the message list but now i have to click to open them because they wont show in the reading pane like they did before

Is there any way to REMOVE the Junk Mail Box? I do not want any of my mail going to the junk mail box because it's too easy to miss mail you DO want that way. I want all downloaded mail to stay in the inbox until I move it. I always was able to DELETE the junk mail box in Outlook, and that is the way I prefer it. Why does MS have to make things harder instead of easier?!

Using Windows Mail. Junk mail box seems to have emptied itself. I tend to hold onto some junk mail that may be of interest but can't be bothered to read at that time. Obvious junk I delete from the junk mailbox. Now the junk mail box is completely empty? Has this happened to anyone? Is there any way of recovering these emails?

I am trying to permanently disable the Junk E-Mail filter in Windows Mail on Vista, but no matter what I try to do it still moves email to the "Junk Email" folder. This wouldn't be so bad if it were any good at it, but the problem is it moves a LOT of legitimate email. I have missed some very important emails because they are moved to junk. My ISP has a spam filter which is pretty close to perfect (Ironport), so I don't really get spam. I have set to "No Automatic Filtering" in options. I have disabled phishing filter in Internet Options and in Windows Mail. I have deleted all block lists etc.

Over the weekend, my Windows Junk E-mail Folder mysteriously started not filling up. On a usual day, I used to get maybe 20-30 pieces of spam, and they were always smoothly sent off to the Junk E-mail Folder. Now at times there is no junk mail or, when there is, there are only 4 or 5 pieces at a time. Normally I'd be thrilled not to be inundated, but occasionally mail is sent mistakenly to the Junk E-mail Folder, and I'd like to be able to retrieve it if necessary. So: Am I in fact receiving junk mail but it's just not "registering"? If so, how do I get to see it again, like I always could before? I notice that the Junk E-mail folder itself now has a small red slash-in-circle on it. I don't recall seeing that before this behavior. Is it related to my issue and, if so, how do I set things right?

I received this after my computer locked up when trying to open up windows Mail "Windows Mail could not be started, initialize junk filtering. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. (0x80070002)" After closing that error out I get "Windows Mail could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized.

I don’t know if I’m in the correct area or not. If not, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I have Vista 32 Home Premium operating system. I have Microsoft Office 2007. When I tried to delete my Junk E-mail folder it tells me it’s full. I know it isn’t so I have been deleting emails individually. How can I fix this problem?

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a toolbar icon add-on for Vista Windows Mail? I hate having to right-click to "mark mail as Junk." I know Mozilla Thunderbird had an add-on for this sort of thing. where I can get Vista Windows Mail add-ons (and free)?

For some unknown reason, received a "jumk" email (same one) in both my junk email folder & my regular inbox. Was able to empty my junk email folder successfully, but it will not delete from my inbox. Every attempt results in dialogue box message: "unknown error has occurred".

i encounter for quite a while now is that when i download emails it only receive one or two at a time. So every time i need to click on the send and receive or wait untill it downloads on its own time. i tried several conections and can not remember changing any settings.

I have setup a friends vista mail to authenticate via pacbell.net's servers for outgoing mail. All works well for a few days, then stops working. Upon re examination of the mail settings, the smtp port has reverted to 25 (set manually to 460 something) and the use ssl checkbox is unchecked. I have showed my friend how to re-set the settings so he is not losing much sleep over this one, but it annoys me.

I have tried on many occasions to change my SMTP port from 25 to 587, but after I apply my changes and exit Mail and restart Mail, my SMTP ports resorts back to 25. The same thing happens when I change Outgoing Mail Authentication settings. I make the changes and things work, but as soon as I exit the program nothing sticks. Running Vista Home Premium with the latest updates.

After many attempts to send 1 email, I changed my outgoing server name several times, apparently incorrectly. I don't know how to go back to the default settings.

I would like to create a file/files that have my newsgroup settings from Windows Mail, that I can import the next time I have to reinstall Vista. Does Windows Mail make a backup file? I searched the Vista help files but the only thing I saw was the Windows easy transfer wizard---I would like to keep this file in my Documents folder, which I back up to an external drive--Windows won't save the file to the same hard drive like I would prefer. Is there any other way to back up my Windows Mail settings?
I see in Windows Mail, the Tools>Accounts button will give me a new window, which allows me to click Export, which will produce an .iaf file. Is this what I am interested in?
