Junk Mail: Into Regular Mail, Not In Junk File
Jan 22, 2010Recently I had to restore my computer and now I am finding that I have a lot of junk mail going into my regular mail and not into the junk file. Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

REMOVE The Junk Mail Box?
Mar 23, 2008Is there any way to REMOVE the Junk Mail Box? I do not want any of my mail going to the junk mail box because it's too easy to miss mail you DO want that way. I want all downloaded mail to stay in the inbox until I move it. I always was able to DELETE the junk mail box in Outlook, and that is the way I prefer it. Why does MS have to make things harder instead of easier?!

Apr 22, 2009Using Windows Mail. Junk mail box seems to have emptied itself. I tend to hold onto some junk mail that may be of interest but can't be bothered to read at that time. Obvious junk I delete from the junk mailbox. Now the junk mail box is completely empty? Has this happened to anyone? Is there any way of recovering these emails?

Dec 16, 2009It has the Windows Vista OS installed (an upgrade to 7 is available FOC). He is now using --> X-Mailer: Microsoft Windows Mail 6.0.6001.18000. He tells me .... "All your emails are coming through as "Malevolent and Phishing" and go to my junk mail box"! I'm certainly not Phishing - nor am I malevolent! I am, though, using an iMac with OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) and Apple Mail Version 4.2. Is there a setting in Vista which needs to be 'adjusted' so that my friend won't receive warnings on receipt of email messages from me?

Jul 6, 2008I am trying to permanently disable the Junk E-Mail filter in Windows Mail on Vista, but no matter what I try to do it still moves email to the "Junk Email" folder. This wouldn't be so bad if it were any good at it, but the problem is it moves a LOT of legitimate email. I have missed some very important emails because they are moved to junk. My ISP has a spam filter which is pretty close to perfect (Ironport), so I don't really get spam. I have set to "No Automatic Filtering" in options. I have disabled phishing filter in Internet Options and in Windows Mail. I have deleted all block lists etc.

Mar 24, 2008Over the weekend, my Windows Junk E-mail Folder mysteriously started not filling up. On a usual day, I used to get maybe 20-30 pieces of spam, and they were always smoothly sent off to the Junk E-mail Folder. Now at times there is no junk mail or, when there is, there are only 4 or 5 pieces at a time. Normally I'd be thrilled not to be inundated, but occasionally mail is sent mistakenly to the Junk E-mail Folder, and I'd like to be able to retrieve it if necessary. So: Am I in fact receiving junk mail but it's just not "registering"? If so, how do I get to see it again, like I always could before? I notice that the Junk E-mail folder itself now has a small red slash-in-circle on it. I don't recall seeing that before this behavior. Is it related to my issue and, if so, how do I set things right?

May 14, 2010For the last couple of weeks when I receive mail with attached pdf files, if I try to move or delete the mail Windows Mail hangs. Sometime it recovers but otherwise I need to kill it. Apr 23, 2010Lately I have found that my Videos sent as attachments in my Windows Mail on Vista are failing to open when I double click. What occurs is that they play, but in the backround with the original e-mail still in view. To see the attachment video I have to click on the icon (i have now on the taskbar) to view the video playing. The previous video attachments, those, which I had save on hard drive are also doing the same if I want to view them. This has just began, for before, once I double clicked I could view them right away.

I've always normally been able to open up my attachments that are videos by the usual double click, a futher window pops up to Open, indicating that it'll open up using Windows Media Player, I clicked on Open and it would begin. Now when I do the aforementioned and the window comes up and I click on open, it begins playing, however to view it I have to click on the icon Windows Media Player before the actual e-mail will disappear and the video is able to be viewed. Why would this have just occurred, has it something maybe due to their recent updates etc.

Apr 11, 2009Most of the time when I attempt to open attachments (Media files such as jpg, mpg, wmv, etc.) the file does not open but I receive a message that OE cannot fnd the file. Usually, if I close OE and reopen, it will operate properly. Sometimes it is necessary to close and reopen more than one time. This never occurred prior to installing IE8. I am using Vista (64) home premium.
