Email Not Showing Up After Download
Jun 16, 2008I am new to windows vista and windows mail, When i open windows mail, it downloads emails fine, but once it is done, I cant see any of the email that downloaded.

Email Account:showing MSN Email Address
Mar 23, 2008After setting up my email account with windows mail using my talk talk email address, for some reason when I'm posting messages to your help forum, it is showing my MSN email address. What is happening here? I've checked all the info via Tools, Accounts, and it only shows my talktalk email??

Jul 8, 2008We have 4 computers in our office. One runs Vista - the other 3 are XP. A customer of ours sends an email to my email address and the Vista guy's email address with a PDF attachment enclosed. I get the attachment, but the Vista guy does not. His email is blank with no attachment clip or nothing showing any kind of an attachment. How can that be? If I 'forward' the Vista guy in our office the same email that was sent to both of us, THEN he receives the attachment and can view it. How can someone forward an email attachment to two people and one of them not get it?? I've checked all his security settings and his firewall and nothing is amiss. He can get email attachments from everyone except this one customer.

Aug 30, 2009I will try to be as specific as possible, bu I am not that computer literate, so bear with me. I just got a new computer, my old one was windows XP and this one is windows vista. I know nothing about Vista. I am trying to set up my email account from ymail (Yahoo). I put in my dispaly name, that was easy enough, next, my email address. ClemonsKimberly@ymail.com, also easy enough, then comes the part I dont get... There is a drop down box for incoming email server, in it currently is POP3, other options are IMAP and HTTP. I dont know which one to use. The next box says Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) sever: I do not know what to put in the box below this. Next is outgoing mail server (SMTP) name: I also do not know what to put in the box under this. Finally there is a box for me to check (or not) for outgoing server requires authentication. I have read a lot of stuff from the computers help pages and HP advisor but I am still lost can anyone help...This is causing me to not beable to email people that I frequently talk to like our mayor, or the news channels because their pages say email me click here and this stupid box keep showing up, without it I cant email these people because they only recieve mail this way.

A site named "Thundercloud" has instructions they say will allow you to send etc. If I read the instructions correctly it should work for Vista and my winmail.

This is the error message when i go in to windows mail. I have had my laptop and norton antivirus the same for the past year and last week I started getting this message. Feb 26, 2008i was away for a long time so i do not know exactly what happened but the wife had let me know that the cd she had put in for my son was not playing so i aske her to look at "my computer" to see if the dvd icon was there but no. so i told her to go to device manager and uninstall which she did then restsart the computer. On restart the computer said installing driver for new hardware but it failed..have tried other ways of deleting then reinstalling but still i cannot use the cd/dvd drive..have even gone down the route of purchasning a new dvd writer but that did not work. by the way error code is" Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

I removed the hard disk connected it to a test bed and run treesize and try to explore "my documents" but telling access denied or showing it as empty.. I donot want to take the risk of doing a restore as there were important files on there..
I am going to try to run it on safe mode and see and also check the folders options as whether it is not on hidden files.
CD/DVD Drives Not Showing
Mar 23, 2008Why doesnt my CD/DVD drives show up in My Computer?! Everytime I reinstall VISTA it appears, but after a while theyre not there? And when I put XP on the machine, it never happens. Only in VISTA, first I thought theyre not supported but when I first install VISTA theyre there...then as I said...give it a month and they dont show up and when I put a disc in nothing happens and I cant even type in their location ex. D:/ WHY?

What happens is that it is not showing up under "computer" and will not read any disks of course. What does work is when we go to device manager it is listed, but has a yellow warning under it. Aug 29, 2008i've googled this issue all over, and though i've found many people with the same problem, none of their 'fixes' have worked for me. hopefully you guys can come up with something (without reinstalling vista again!) to make it work. as a note, i'm running Ultimate x64 and all of my hardware specs are more than enough and i'm pretty positive that's not the issue.
suddenly, in the middle of normal usage, my drives were no longer recognized by my computer (optical and virtual drives). they do not show up in "Computer" or disk management. they are recognized by the BIOS. i had DaemonTools installed at the time, it was the latest version; i've read that could be an issue. i have absolutely no idea how to get my drives recognized again - i've got some work i really need to get done and haven't been able to fix this............

Sep 30, 2009When I delete a file the icon of the bin doesn't show me that the bin is full, as it used to show. Also at the specific moment the "empty recycle bin" command is gray and doesn't give me the option to empty the bin. When I right click and "open" the bin, automatically the icon becomes full again!
I wonder why this is happening! It is the first time as a long time user that I face such a weird problem.
I have to tell that I checked my pc for virus, malware and ad-ware and it is clean.

Everything was fine and it showed as 8GB memory however now its showing as 7.25GB I have not changed any settings within windows and the BIOS. Any ideas what would cause this?

Showing 3 Partition Space Instead Of 2
Feb 26, 2009I m trying to reinstall windows vista and when im trying to delete all the partitions, it still shows that i have 3 unpartitioned space in which 2 unpartitioned space are empty without any space and i cannot delete them. However, i can still install windows on the 1st unpartitioned space which is of 160 GB.

Jun 15, 2008The problem I am having is in the start menu the recent documents bit is not showing any more. I can enable it and it does show up, but when I reboot my computer it disappears again. I go and right click the orb and click properties and I see that the check box for "Store and display a list of recently opened files" is unchecked again. I have not tweaked my system and the only thing I have installed lately was Firefox 3 rc3. I have got IE7 as my default browser. I am at a loss. I know this is a small problem, but it was handy to have the list of recently opened files to hand.
