View 5 Replies View RelatedI have Vista and I find out Hotmail is not longer supported. That is just great! I have done the stuff to still use my hotmail account (I think). However, how do I set up this Windows Live mail account?? When I put in my email address as xxxxx@hotmail.com I get the error message that Hotmail is no longer supported. So what what is my email address extension now? I cannot send pictures out of Photoshop and other problems now that Hotmail is not supported.

This urgent as she uses the computer for her business and it has literally several thousand email addresses, email groups, and messages. The OS is Vista Home Premium. Where within the file structure on her hard drive would I find those folders/files? Which folders/files am I specifically looking for?

a) When she opens her Contact list , the names are in alphabetical order (which is expected) .However when she composes an email and clicks on the "To" button , the name list displayed is not in alphabetical order by name but strangely ordered by email addresses. Is there a way to rearrange to resort by names?
b) When she types a name in the Address area ie in the box next to "To" , another page opens for search. Is this normal ? With Outlook ( which she used to use until she changed to a new computer running Vista) when you type the name a list of potential email addresses appear. IS there a way to fix this?
Is anyone else having problems installing this speific KB937287 update? I am unable to get it to stop showing up in my 64-bit Vista UE's Windows Update even though it was a success. All other today's updates were fine except one (KB937287 failed) and then rebooted, but now KB937287 keeps showing up even after successful installs.

I have Nortons IS installed as my Anti Virus program, and I know this overrides the WSC, but how do I stop the Windows icon from showing my computer is at risk when I start up. I have an outbound ip address showing up in a sniffer log about every 5 minutes or so, only from this one machine. The IP address does not resolve, and doesn't seem to exist, but the fact that my machine is trying to reach out bugs me. I found the problem on Airsnare, and caught the outbound ICMP request via Ethereal. Inside of a Linksys router, with only a non-standard VNC port forwarded to this machine.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhenever i create a new email by click "To" to open up my address book for selecting any email address, or when i use "reply all" and want to add in some more email address from the address book, the computer start to run and till it stuck, so the only choice for me is to end this task and type email address instead of selecting email address from address book.
i thought that this is because i got too many email address, thus i deleted most of it and now only got 700 email address inside my address book, i just can not understand that when outlook express can take more than 3000 email address book, but windows mail can not take about 700 email address book. And somemore, this email address book is just useless for me, because whenever i want to use the address book, the windows mail is going to hang... and the only choice is to go to task manager, end this task and restart my windows mail.
I added a huge amount of senders to the Blocked Senders list, but still get them appearing in the Junk Mail folder. I get hundreds of junk mail each day and was hoping that this would stop them from showing. Is there something else I need to activate to make this work?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI wanted to download Adobe Flash Player 10 from their site, but whenever I click on the link, instead of getting the Install/Don't Install prompt for the ActiveX plug-in, all I get is a window asking if I want to save the file, and it is listed as a Binary file. Attached is an image of the download window. Now, this woudn't be a problem, as I could just run it as normal after downloading it, but when I click Save File, it downloads it, and then the file disappears. I how can I get the Save File prompt to stop showing up, or if I do have to save it, how can I choose where it goes to?

This allowed OE to pull my contacts from Outlook and keep the OE and Outlook address books identical. Upgraded to Vista/Windows Mail and even though it pulled my address book from OE, I can't figure out how to link to Outlook as before. Also, even though I've checked the box to automatically fill e-mail name/address when composing an e- mail, it's only auto filling names I've sent e-mails to from Windows Mail, not from the Contacts book.

I have just bought a new laptop and have set up my windows mail account copying the settings from my Outlook account. However, not all emails seem to be coming through to my laptop, when I check my mail through Outlook there are maybe 5 new ones there but only one of those shows in my Windows mail.
