I recently moved from Outlook Express to Windows Mail. Previously, I would type the first letter of an email address and I would get all of the contacts to whom I've sent email as options for the address. Now, I seem to only get a list of people I've emailed within the last day or two. This is annoying (for example, when I cc myself, I seem to have to type in the address every time).
View 8 RepliesWhen I delete a file the icon of the bin doesn't show me that the bin is full, as it used to show. Also at the specific moment the "empty recycle bin" command is gray and doesn't give me the option to empty the bin. When I right click and "open" the bin, automatically the icon becomes full again!
I wonder why this is happening! It is the first time as a long time user that I face such a weird problem.
I have to tell that I checked my pc for virus, malware and ad-ware and it is clean.
OS: Vista Home Premium, 32 bit, SP2

I used to have outlook express, and when i wanted to send mail to Tim i could type T and the rest of the name would appear as long as tim was in my contacts. but now in windows vista, when i put Tim in my contacts it auto completes his address not his name so.....if tims address is adsfsdf@wwe.com typing in his name helps me none....is there any way to change this?

After quite some period of time the install program announced that it could not import my contacts - probably the most important aspect of my mail program!
It tells me to do so manually, with no instruction how to of course. I am merely told to point the program in the direction of my Winmail address book.

In OE, I could sort my contacts into folders. Then when I would send an e-mail I could click on "to" and a window opened showing the list of folders in a drop down menu. I would choose the folder I wanted to pick my recipient (s) from. I could choose them individually or in groups. For some reason I can't figure out how to do this with Windows Mail Contacts. I have sorted my contacts into separate folders, but every time I click on "to" to choose the recipients of my message, it does not show the folders, but instead shows every single contact in the folder. It doesn't separate them at all. This makes choosing the recipients very tedious indeed.

Windows mail could not be started. Initializing junk filtering, your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. (0X80070002)
When you click on the ok button then i get a second window which reads:
Windows mail could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized.
How do i fix this? I have tried some update however nothing seems to work.
Has anyone had any issues installing outlook to upgrade from windows mail? Does it capture and transfer contacts etc from mail to outlook?

I have just bought a new laptop and have set up my windows mail account copying the settings from my Outlook account. However, not all emails seem to be coming through to my laptop, when I check my mail through Outlook there are maybe 5 new ones there but only one of those shows in my Windows mail. Then to add to the confusion if I try to access my emails through my Sky account there are some showing there that have not come through to Outlook or Windows.
