View 6 RepliesI am seeing new contacts in my list that I have not added. I recently installed SP2 and wonder if this has anything to do about it. It never happeded before that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere is no icon for adding or removing a person's picture in my contacts folder, and yet Windows Help and Support says, "You can add pictures to your contacts, making it easier to identify and remember people when you look up their contact information. Windows adds a default image for each contact, which you can change to any picture or graphic you want." I do not have a "change picture" or "remove picture" icon.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new laptop and am now using Windows Mail instead of Outlook Express. I have a backup of my stationery I used with Outlook Express. How can I add it to the Windows Mail stationery folder? I think I copied and pasted it in the wrong place because when I open up a new email, go to Format, stationery, I do not see my old stationeries there at all.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever I click on the 'contacts' icon in Windows Mail, instead of taking me to a screen to manage my contacts (like the help screen says it will), it shows me the contents of the contacts file. Why is it
doing this? I just want to create a contact group (distrib. list).
I used to have outlook express, and when i wanted to send mail to Tim i could type T and the rest of the name would appear as long as tim was in my contacts. but now in windows vista, when i put Tim in my contacts it auto completes his address not his name so.....if tims address is adsfsdf@wwe.com typing in his name helps me none....is there any way to change this?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI was recently switched to a new ISP (Comcast). I'm trying to figure out a way to copy my contact list from Windows Mail to the Comcast Webmail site. They have some help screens for moving it from Outlook Express by exporting the Address Book. I'm not seeing any options in Windows Mail to export contacts via a .cvs file. Is there a way to do it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am being forced to use this tacky Windows Live mail program (coz I want to open attachments after IE8!), I have installed it and as I would expect from a Microsoft install it didn't go smoothly!
After quite some period of time the install program announced that it could not import my contacts - probably the most important aspect of my mail program!
It tells me to do so manually, with no instruction how to of course. I am merely told to point the program in the direction of my Winmail address book.
I'm sure I must be doing something wrong, but I have Windows Mail on a laptop using Vista. It works fine, but all of a sudden, I can't fine how to add a new contact or group. I think I recall it being pretty easy and self explanatory before, so I think I must have some hidden files somewhere. However, I tried everything I can think of.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently moved from Outlook Express to Windows Mail. Previously, I would type the first letter of an email address and I would get all of the contacts to whom I've sent email as options for the address. Now, I seem to only get a list of people I've emailed within the last day or two. This is annoying (for example, when I cc myself, I seem to have to type in the address every time).

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got a new computer with Vista 64 Bit Home Premium. I cannot seem to open a box on the left of the Windows Mail page where they would go, similar to Outlook Express.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just recently purchased my Vista pc, and I'm having problems organizing my contacts in the new Windows Mail address book (or contacts folder). In OE, I could sort my contacts into folders. Then when I would send an e-mail I could click on "to" and a window opened showing the list of folders in a drop down menu. I would choose the folder I wanted to pick my recipient (s) from. I could choose them individually or in groups. For some reason I can't figure out how to do this with Windows Mail Contacts. I have sorted my contacts into separate folders, but every time I click on "to" to choose the recipients of my message, it does not show the folders, but instead shows every single contact in the folder. It doesn't separate them at all. This makes choosing the recipients very tedious indeed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having problems importing contacts into Vista Contacts. I tried 2 things :
1/ LDIF
I exported my contacts in Thunderbird under an LDIF format.
I then imported this LDIF file within Contacts
The import stops 1/5 of the way, simply saying that there is an error
in the contacts, and it stays stuck
2/ CVS
I exported my contacts in Thunderbird under a CVS file. I then tried to import the file within Contacts but cannot do the mapping:
- all column headings are lumped together, with plenty of ","
- all accentuated caracters are replaced by squares
Also, with the LDIF method, 50 contacts out of 300 were imported. In these imported contacts, all accentuated caracters were replaced by symbols. I opened the CVS file in Microsoft Excel: everything is fine.
I installed Outlook 2003 on my computer which has Vista Ultimate so I could use a Dell Axim. Now when I go to fax a document using Windows Fax and Scan and try to select a contact, Outlook Contacts is displayed instead of Windows Contacts. It won't let me choose to use Windows Contacts either. I tried using Default Programs to associate Windows Contacts with it's defaults but that didn't work.
