My recycle bin don't get refresh when i deleted item why? I was not like this before. I encountered this problem before and all i did was system restore. What is the problem actually? Is there anyway to set the Recycle Bin NOT to get deleted accidentally? I always delete it when i want to just empty it.
Deleted files don't go into recycle bin, when I deleted files..they seemed to be deleted permanently without going to recycle bin first. How do I fix this problem? I'm using Vista home premium 32 bit. And I really hate the vista
yes...i know...stupid and how?? i right clicked to empty it but selected delete by accident ... stupid autopilot so its gone from the desktop, and no recycle means no open recyle bin and just click restore ive never done it before therefore im not sure how to fix it ...so my question is how do i get it back??
When I delete an email it does not show up in my deleted items folder. It just disappears. I deleted an email accidentally and now I cannot find it because none of my deleted emails are in the folder. Where are they going?
I have just bought a new pc with Vista Home Premium x64. Problem is that the recycle bin won't show deleted items. The bin just looks empty. If I click on empty recycle bin it prompts me if I want to delete these 16 (or whatever number) items, so they must be there but will not display. I have tried displaying hidden files and checked in recycle bin properties that files are not deleted rather than placed in the bin to no avail. If I click restore items nothing happens.
When i delete files and pictures to my recycle bin, it never shows anything in there but its thereb to empty it, how can i change settings to show files that i put into bin.
I like to sort my Recycle Bin by the Date Deleted column. But I always have to add that column every time I open the Recycle Bin and it never sticks. How do I get the Date Deleted columns to stay there?
I cleaned my recycle bin yesterday and after that realized that it had some of my very important data. I want to know if there is any inbuilt technique to recovery those files OR I shall go to some third party windows data recovery software.
I just bought my 'puter a few days ago and it had this problem. If anyone is still having this same problem, here's how I fixed mine...Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup Then just check Recycle Bin and run the program.
My recycle bin disapeared and although I was able to right click and choose the personalize menu to change icons it does not work properly. When I delete anything the recycle bin icon always looks empty even when there are deleted files present?
I could not possibly delete the Recycle Bin icon from screen because there was no "delete" option. Now, two friends contacted me frantically because they could not find the icon...obviously, they had right-clicked and then clicked the "delete" option instead of "empty" option.
both me and my husband have just run windows update, and all of a sudden, on both our machines, the recycle bin icon has disappeared. Coincidence? Probably not. Anyways, does anyone know of a quick way to restore the icon?
My recycle bin icon. Somehow, when i delete something, the 'rubbish' in the recycle bin icon does not appear, only when I refresh the desktop(by pressing F5), only it appears.
The recycle bin icon on my desktop has stopped working. Instead of the glass filling up whenever I delete something and then emptying when I empty the recycle bin, the glass remains resolutely empty. If I open the recycle bin folder the deleted files are there. How do I restore functionality
my Recycle Bin does not update its icon status, i.e. when I delete something I always have to press F5 to "refresh" the icons to get the correct icon of the "full" bin displayed; and when I empty the recycle bin, the same thing happens. What seems to be the problem here? Is there a icon cache file somewhere that I have to delete?
When you dump things in your recycle the icon changes to a pic of a full bin (as we all know) well mine doesnt , not until after a reeboot then it shows as having contents.
if i put something in my bin now , it will go into the bin , i can open the bin and its there to be recycled but the icon wont change , if i dont empty the bin upon next reboot the bin will show as having contents so im assuming its not the icon cache thats screwed up (i have rebuilt it just incase and ive checked the correct icons are selected)...
I have followed the instructions given to a T - Personalize - Put check in box for Recycle Bin and clicked OK, but I can't get the recycle bin ICON back on my desktopWhat am I doing wrong - or what can the problem be.
I have 2 problems though my mouse scroller ain't working. Another problem is that I cannot find my recycle bin shortcut on my desktop. All I did was tried emptying some stuff I wasn't using but once I hit "empty recycle bin" my shortcut disappeared and I cannot find the program to remake the shortcut. EDIT:Well my scroller for my mouse is working, but I still cannot find my Recycle Bin to make a new shortcut yet..
I was working on the computer today using several programs and when I went back to the desktop, I noticed a sort of ghosted out icon that looks like a gear on top of a sheet of lined paper and the words "desktop.ini" under it. I have no idea how it got there. Is it safe for me to delete it or is there a better way of getting rid of it.
I deleted something from my computer (by mistake). I think it was something with the ATI program. Now my desktop is all stretched out. Before, my screen resolution was 1280 x 800, now the highest it will let me set it at is 1024 x 768. Things look stretched out and blurry. Is there something I could download?
i deleted the 'desktop' folder by accident from the My Documents window (or just above my documents folder)...
Now the 'Desktop icon' at the top of the folder list shows a different set of shortcuts/folders (incl. RecycleBin, Network etc etc)... the now 'yellow' desktop folder that is under the 'user' is messed up.
I've attached 2 screen shots because i'm sure my explanation is poor. Anyway, this is driving me crazy - can't figure it out. I've been messing around with it for hours - at one point i had 'desktop' with about 15 'desktop' subfolders......
I deleted some files off my desktop. The data was deleted, but the icons are still there. They now contain "0 bytes". I've tried deleting them, and I get an error message saying that the file cannot be found. I've tried refreshing my desktop. I've tried restarting. I've tried deleting in safe mode. I can't rename them, and I can't move them, because they "can't be found."
