Cannot recieve messages, I have an email with a large file attached that is stuck as though message is too large to recieve. I'm not getting any error messages, just not receiving email. Says messsage 27/166 trying to come in for the last 12 hours. How can I delete/cancel this email from coming in so I can receive my other emails that are backed up.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have just tried setting up an email account - i used to use windows xp & have carefully installed all account information 5 times now, but each time I click send/receive I get a windows security box coming up asking me to confirm logon information (username & password) - i enter this information which is IDENTICAL to the information i have been putting in the account information but it will not allow me to send/receive emails.

Haven't defragged in over a year, and I have almost filled the drive and then moved a lot of files to an ext. hd, several times, so it should be well overdue for a defrag. Vista Defragmenter analyzed and told me there was no need for a defrag. I started the Defrag anyway, and that was about 4 hours ago and it's still going. This is the 2nd and last time I will ever use the Vista Defragmenter - the only other time I did it took overnight before it turned off, probably 12 hours or more.
My questions are:
1) Is it okay to click "Cancel Defragmentation".
2) Can I use the computer while it is defragging? At least for web surfing?
3) Why do you think it said that I don't need defrag, and then when I choose to defrag anyway it's not done after 4 -5 hours.
4) I read in a thread somewhere that anytime the computer is used during a defrag, causes the defrag to restart.
how can i cancel file association in Vista or eliminat the association. my problem is i associte file DAT with note pad and i dont now how to eliminat that file association, i remeber that in xp u can do it but in vista i found only change file

I've tried the whole antivirus thing and changing the port number, together with going into my Drive and deleting things from there but still the pesky thing is sitting there taunting me.
I have three e mails which I cannot delete from my in box. It's driving me mad and I've wasted so much time looking this up that I'm close to giving up! An error message occurs saying' and unexpected error has occured and thats it.

At first I manaually delete the dupliates in window mail, It costed me a lot of time and only delete little parts of duplicates. Now I find in window explorer, these are files for the mails. I think I might use a tool to remove duplicate files in 'window mail' folder on window explorer.Is it sage to do so.

Also I got an email from a trusted sender and Vista mail pt it throug to spam and said it could have been phishing, I am 100% it was not. I right clicked on the email and put it in trusted sender. View 6 Replies View RelatedI just built myself a computer and put on vista ultimate 64bit, and everything worked great until i turned on the sound... it seems like 80% of the sound is coming from the subwoofer and only 20% is coming from the speakers. its so annoying and obnoxious! all i can hear is 'thump thump thump' its horrible. ive searched around for hours and i cant find any solution. everything audiowise was perfect just a day ago when i was runnign xp I'm not a huge audio person. my set up is 2 speakers and a subwoofer. the software that came with the motherboard is realtek HD audio manager

I have tried turning off sleep / hybrid sleep / hibernate, but the computer still goes into "sleep" of some kind. When it comes out of sleep, I can hear a whirling sound, which could be the harddrive starting up, but moments later it sounds like it spins down and stops, and then the whole computer freezes up, and I have to turn it off and then turn it back on in order to make it work again. I've tried to make it (using power options) so that the harddrive does not power down, but
that doesn't appear to do anything either, because the drive still turns off when the computer sleeps. Before this problem developed, I was having problems with the Media Center remote not working after sleep, and was also having problems with the usb ports, and the sound turning off.....................
Alright, I got the fatal1ty headset and I'm having a problem with my MIC. The headphones are working perfectly. It's recognizing the headset but no sound is coming out when I speak, seems like it's on mute, on the headset the mic is set on "on."

View 4 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to play a game (which i think is 16bit) i downloaded but it keeps coming up with an error message telling me that i'm missing the C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIG.NT file. i have looked up ways to fix this, but can only find solutions for Windows XP, & when i found a solution here from a user called Josh, he claimed there is an HKLM pathway in regedit but i don't see this my system is Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit.
