I have uninstalled them, and yet they keep coming back. I can't imagine what they are, as everything on this laptop appears to work. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 7720, running Vista Home Premium x64 and to my surprise the same happens in Win 7

View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is the right group but a keyword search sent me here. For a long time now I've been getting windows on startup trying to install something that it says is an unidentified device, but on attempt to diagnose and or install I get the following:
This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)A device attached to the system is not functioning.To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Drive and gives it's value as *ISATAP network adaptor.So I uninstall it and after a restart or two I have to go through it all over again.If I leave device manager window open it shows a lot of activity trying to install this device so it is affecting performance.I don't have any new hardware other than a driver for a midi connection, but this issue predates that.
whenever you plug your headphones or microphone or speakers into any of the jacks on your PC, it comes up in the little box and asks you what you plugged into the jack. i accidentally unchecked something and now whenever i plug things in it wont detect anything in those sound device sockets at the back, how do i turn the auto detecting thing back on?
View 5 Replies View RelatedCan not get my HP 7400 scanner to work after upgrading to Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Not the hardware - works fine under XP pro using same hardware configuration. Did a clean install, installed motherboard BIOS updates, scanner BIOS updates, Vista updates and the correct driver from HP. The scanner installed and Device Manager says device is working properly. When I try to scan, scanner initializes, starts to scan then locks up. Then can no longer be seen. ASUS M2N-E motherboard with AMD dual core. Other than that Vista works OK with the rest of my system
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have installed the correct driver for this belkin bluetooth usb dongle model: F8T012XX1 but in device manager, it has the belkin device and microsoft bluetooth enumerator, which is great. but when u get further down the list. it has a tab named "other devices" and then a subtab with "bluetooth peripheral device" which has an exclemation mark on it. i have searched for driver software using the update service but it cant find no update. i have looked for the name of the manufacturer but found nothing.i then disabled the unknown device, and sent a picture to my mobile phone. which confirmed that it was not the belkin bluetooth device. so i uninstalled the unknown device, restarted the computer. then when i logged in, it said that it had found a new device and wanted me to find the CD that came with it.

I have my speakers hooked up to a Turtle Beach Montego DDL. I couldnt find any X64 bit drivers for this card, so i figured there had to be other drivers that had the same chipset......I was right. View 8 Replies View RelatedI just built myself a computer and put on vista ultimate 64bit, and everything worked great until i turned on the sound... it seems like 80% of the sound is coming from the subwoofer and only 20% is coming from the speakers. its so annoying and obnoxious! all i can hear is 'thump thump thump' its horrible. ive searched around for hours and i cant find any solution. everything audiowise was perfect just a day ago when i was runnign xp I'm not a huge audio person. my set up is 2 speakers and a subwoofer. the software that came with the motherboard is realtek HD audio manager

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy computer (HP m9000t) freezes up after coming out of sleep mode. I have tried turning off sleep / hybrid sleep / hibernate, but the computer still goes into "sleep" of some kind. When it comes out of sleep, I can hear a whirling sound, which could be the harddrive starting up, but moments later it sounds like it spins down and stops, and then the whole computer freezes up, and I have to turn it off and then turn it back on in order to make it work again. I've tried to make it (using power options) so that the harddrive does not power down, but
that doesn't appear to do anything either, because the drive still turns off when the computer sleeps. Before this problem developed, I was having problems with the Media Center remote not working after sleep, and was also having problems with the usb ports, and the sound turning off.....................
Cannot recieve messages, I have an email with a large file attached that is stuck as though message is too large to recieve. I'm not getting any error messages, just not receiving email. Says messsage 27/166 trying to come in for the last 12 hours. How can I delete/cancel this email from coming in so I can receive my other emails that are backed up.

I do not know much about it as it is not mine, but the problem is the audio was cutting out and now there is nothing. The computer is not recognizing any type of audio device installed. Even in Device Manager, there is no option for Sound, game and controllers. I have tried downloading the driver and installing, but no luck there.

I'm having a curious problem: Yesterday I plugged into the machine the dongle of my wireless logitech mouse, and for some reason the machine said "Your unknown device is ready to use" (my OS is in spanish, the messages may not be accurately translated). Since then, an annoying message pops every few seconds warning about an "unrecognized USB device", that "didn't work as expected". The best part is this, if I click on the tray icon, sometimes the informative dialog window is emply, an other times shows all the USB ports in the system plus one extra with a "unknown UBS device", even without any device plugged into the system. I've tryed removing the unknown device from the device manager, but it shows up again.
i'm trying to play a game (which i think is 16bit) i downloaded but it keeps coming up with an error message telling me that i'm missing the C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIG.NT file. i have looked up ways to fix this, but can only find solutions for Windows XP, & when i found a solution here from a user called Josh, he claimed there is an HKLM pathway in regedit but i don't see this my system is Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit.

Installation of any USB mouse would show a new "USB Human Interface Device" in Device Manager but it just won't work. Installation of the very same model of my original mouse didn't work neither. So basically I am stick with the current mouse?

I went to turn it on this morning, I just had a black screen showing the following words;
Press F2 to run
Press F11 to boot menu
Auto detecting PRI Master Atapai CDROM.
It then went to reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. I went into the BIOS to change the boot order and inserted my Vista home premium 32bit. I then got windows is loading in files. After a short while I got the black start up screen with Microsoft Corporation but after a few seconds it just froze. Moments later it went to a blue screen with white writing part of which said the following; A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TI YOUR COMPUTER.
Just recently a new icon appeared in the notification area and I can't get rid of it or even find out what it is. If you hover over the icon, there is no pop up message saying what it is. Left and right click don't do anything at all. I've looked in the customise icons section but it is just listed as "<no title>".
The icon looks like two figures in front of a small window, with the windows shield at the front. I've tried to attach a screen shot of it. It's the second one from the left.
It appears shortly after starting up the laptop and then won't go.
I've got an ACER Aspire 5735, running Vista Home Basic.
Is there a way to identify the items in the notification area?
This is still unresolved even though I've tries every suggestion on the
net. It seems people usually give up at this stage and reload Vista. My
original post is now on page 3 so probably won't get read anymore.
It's pointess going to Microsoft - it has been a know problem since
Vista was released, and apparently they have done nothing about it.
I do know it's not the router. I do know it's not the wireless adaptor.
I do know I'm not getting any DNS.

I have a functioning XP network with Zyxel 335 router. 3 wireless and 1 wired
connection. Works OK. Installed a new computer with windows vista wired (old
USB wireless driver didn??t work with Vista). Only local access to
unidentified network. IP-adress 169.... and not 192.168.1.34 which the router
says it should have. When I changed to the same network name all computers
could see each other but later the Vista computer was missing. It??s very
confusing.
What should I do? My son wants to reach the internet from his computer and
we want to share his printer.
I??ve tried support from my ISP and router. ISP wont help -says it??s problem
with Vista..Zyxel says it will be solved in Vista SP1. Does anybody know if
this is the case and when is that released?
I was online yesterday all day. I put my rig to sleep last night. It powered off during the night. I turn it on this afternoon. No internet access. Every other XP machine is online fine, wireless and wired. I have tried just about every fix I have seen:
Disable DHCP Flags
no firewalls
blah, blah, blah.
Restarted router, modem, car, dog, etc.
What can I do or try? A list would be nice. A chatting support option would be nice. A little instant messenger like device with a tech on the other end.
