Here is the chronology as I remember it... Had new PC with Vista for the first time for a month now...no problems. Installed Hitman game. When I attempted to start game, receieved error that a file was missing. From my memory, it was something like MSVLL771.dll (not accurate, but close). Vista prompted me that it could find the problem and then recommended a download. It was an update in the realm of Framework 1.1- something or other. After downloading and attempted implementation, Vista let me know this program was already on my PC. I did an internet search for the "missing" file and downloaded it specificly and placed in the game's file. The game now ran with no problem.
Yet, at the next boot up of PC it crashed to the "problem" screen. At this point I was able to use safe mode and attempt a recovery by going back to an earlier save point. Did this and reboot. Now PC crashes again and now will not start in any mode (safe, normal, safe with networking, etc) By not start, I mean I get past the prompt asking which mode to start, screen goes blank, no Vista load, just a cursor. The LED light seems to be processing, yet nothing happens from here.I placed Vista disk in to boot from it to Fix and Re-install, but this does not help. After a few steps it goes to a driver selection screen with no drivers available. Lets me browse, but I have no clue where to look for these??
I just installed this game but it stutters heavily and in the main menu i can't see the mouse. It isn't my system I have a AMD HD4850 an E8400 , even FarCry2 works perfectly. Can it be that this game isn't vista x64 proof??
I just installed a version of windows vista ultimate lite......and i was wodering if there is a way i could get the games that come with vista when you first install it back. They currently aren't installed on the computer.
I have installed multiple games on my Vista, like Assassin's Creed, and when I try to play them, the intro plays, and then a message pops up that says that my game has stopped working and Windows is searching for a solution. Then this message pops up, Assasin's Creed Game has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is abailable. I have tried restarting the game, reinstalling it, everything I can think of.
while back I had a Windows XP PC but it got dumb and crashed. So I just got my new Tower Which is Windows Vista-x64(Home Premium.) On my old machine I had a game I new and loved called Rayman 2 that isn't compatible to Vista. So my only option was to install it under Microsoft VPC 2007. It did Install but It wouldn't play. Here is the issue: I go To play the game and an error pops up that said I need to install DirectX 6.0 so I did. It didnt matter tho cuz I still had the error. So then I realized the error as telling me to configure the Graphics so It had another error when I Opened The "GXSetup."
Which was this: error1.jpg It Didn't Really matter because it still let me open the exe. But HERE IS WHERE THE REAL PROBLEM STARTED. The program successfully opened! But This is what it contained: MajorError.jpg My only thought was what the f*ck I am going to scream. Because from what it looks like Virtual PC Wasn't Detecting Much or anything at all to do with Graphics (the dropdown arrows contain absolutely nothing).
Whenever I play any game at full quality graphics, after some time the computer just freezes.....Does anybody know how to fix this My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS Intel Core 2 Duo ....
Mostly, when I install programs in Vista, there's no problem starting them. In a couple of cases, though, whenever I run the program (whether from the Start menu or by double-clicking a data file), Vista posts a message: "An unidentified program wants to access your computer." It gives the options "Cancel" and "Allow". Well, obviously I want to allow the program; I've just started it! And the programs were installed through a normal installation process. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling those specific programs, but I get the same results. How can I tell Vista to stop asking me and just allow it?
my computer showing white screen. I maybe turn it on and a few minutes later it's completely white. Sometimes it showes first stripes, black and white. I've googled it but not found much so I went here to ask. For about 2 months ago I had problem with BSOD but re-installed Vista and it was OK. My computer is Packard Bell SB87 (something like that, not sure) and with Vista Home Premium.

Just got Vista (32). Battlefield 1942 expansion installed fine. runs for a second or 2 then crashes. Tried to reinstal, same thing. Came up with (game failed, game closing)?

*Configuring updates: stage 3 of 3 0% complete. Do not turn off your computer After restarting the computer Updates were not configured correctly reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer.
It take almost 30-40 mins to complete all the above process and till it asks me for LOGIN/PASSWORD screen. It does not happen all time when I reboot. This is second time I have seen this in a month.I have not installed any software since I purchased this laptop (1 yearback) Then why its configuring any updates How to fix this Windows version : Windows Vista Home Basic.
I am working on moving over to Windows Vista, in hopes of going officially to Windows 7. I know I should be checking for Windows 7 but I have a full Vista Ultimate 64Bit. I have most of my devices configured but I do not seem to get my GVC modem to install. It is based off a Conexant processor and XP was able to use a "generic" Conexant driver.
here is what i have tried and worked around in that write up on sleep issues.

1) I can't see Windows update tab as can you see from this picture:Glowfoto :: Photo Sharing and second one I guess this is a very famous problem:
My computer every day without my permission turn off and trying to make some updates, like: 2 of 3 100% after that reloading makes 3 of 3 100% reloads and then writes me: updates were not configured correctly. reverting the changes. It happens every day!!!! I do some work and suddenly it turns off and trying to update something.. I turned off updates. Damn!!!! Vista, Solve it already!!!!! I see it's a very common problem as I surfed through the forums in Net. I already tried many solutions that i've found in net, like: restore point (doesn't work), updates were not configured correctly. REverting changes. , Updates were not configured correctly. Reverting Changes. Do not turn off your computer..
I am using Windows Mail with Gmail's IMAP configured. I've configured it in Windows Mail as per the directions in the Gmail web site. Regardless, I get this error message every time I try to check my Gmail:
"Header download for the '[Gmail]' folder did not complete. Could not select '[Gmail]' on the IMAP server. You might try refreshing your folder list to synchronize with the IMAP server. Account: 'Gmail', Server: 'imap.gmail.com', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'Unknown Mailbox: [Gmail] (Failure)', Port: 993, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCCD2"
i have just moved from XP to Vista and i like most everything but Office , all i want to do is print but it just seems so complicated , it automatically goes to One Note , and to print something of the Internet say if you booked flights and you want to print the details again seems so complicated , it's i know probably i haven't configured properly but it's very frustrating with XP i just clicked print and that was it ,
My 2 new vista laptops won't see either the network set up at home or my office (both as 'OFFICE') or vice versa. I downloaded the LLTD and it's made not one jot of difference..Been through the sharing etc. *The 2 lappys see eachother BTW*I downloaded network magic demo on one laptop and the main PC at home and appears the network is correct as they both see eachother . (it even sees the one laptop which hasn't got NM on it) I must say I'm kinda disappointed that Vista and XP are not properly configured to automatically 'see' eachother and have to resort to a 3rd party to do so?
That aside I have three options
1 Dump Vista (my current fav ;-) 2 Solve this problem 3 Buy NM for home/work
If anyone has any input I'd love to see if no/ 2 can be cracked!
I found out that the issue was caused by a conflict between the wireless driver and the sound card. I tried to install the Broadcom Wireless Adapter update, thinking that would fix it? and somehow during the process I uninstalled my Broadcom Wireless Driver? I then went into the device manager and clicked on my Broadcom Wireless adapter and clicked on "update driver software". It runs a search and then tells me that my driver is up to date.
The Device Staus is: This device cannot start. (Code 10): The Driver Version is 4.170.25.19 10/26/2007
but when I try to connect to a wireless network, It tells me "the network adapter "broadcom 802.11n network adapter" is experiencing driver or hardware related issues. Please don't waste our time with comments like "ditch the Mac and get a real computer"
I have an HP Photosmart C6180 connected via USB to an XP desktop computer. I have other XP laptops set up so they can print to this printer throught their wireless connection. However I now have a new Vista laptop and I can't get it configured for this printer through it's wireless connection. Here is what I've tried: Go into Control panel/printers on the Vista Laptop and select Add New printer. I select Network printer and It finds the printer. I then select HP as the manufacturer and it list lots of their printers but not this one. I assume the driver was just not included with Vista. This also has a "have disk" option but my disk is only for XP and before.
I went to HP's site and downloaded the latest complete Vista driver (159 meg). I then ran the software install and when it asks for whether it is a local or network printer, I pick network. But the driver software can't find any network printers even thought Vista could in 1 above. 3. I went to HP's site and downloaded the latest complete Vista driver (159 meg) only this time I saved it instead or running it. Then from the Vista Laptop and selected Add New printer. I select Network printer and It finds the printer. This also has a "have disk" option so I point it to the saved download file but it won't accept it. Apparently this is because the downloaded file is an exe and the software at that point is looking for in ..inf file. So how can I get this to work?
Anyone had any experience bypassing BitLocker (basic mode) using the recovery console (i.e., booting to the Windows DVD or rescue CD)? Based on the documentation, seems like it would work (provided BIOS is configured to boot to CD/DVD drive before the HDD). Having said that, would M$ allow such an obvious attack vector? I don't have a machine w/ a TPM right now, so I can't test this myself.
I can sucessfully load up the game and all however whenever i try to join a multiplayer game(says "Joining Server... then crashes" or finish loading a single player game(after the textures are loaded or the shaders it just crashes) OR whenever i click audio in settings my game(right after i click audio it just goes boom) just crashes back to desktop with the BF2142.exe error. I've read about many different crashes with other people but this seems different, people have had crashes during map changes, splash screen, and a few secs after joining the server, havent seen anyone with my problem of crashing when i see the "joining server.." box.
I've tried 1)reinstalling/repatching 2)run the exe as admin. 3)disable UAC and reinstall/repatch after restart
Im pretty sure my computer can handle the game, my old one did fine and this one owns it. Im kind of lost, I've tried many things and this freaking game just doesnt want to work.
i have a windows vista home premium installed on my laptop A215-S4757 & i didn't get its recovery but i managed to get a recovery for A215-S4757 (same as mine) from my friend would it work if i used his recovery on my laptop? & would the drivers be automatically configured?
HAWX: which is that the aircraft doesn't stop spinning, i am unable to control the plane. I use a PlayStation 2 USB joystick which has been configured and synced with the PC, so that the every button/joystick works. I am 100% sure that there is not a problem with the joystick, as i use it for other games such as Microsoft Flight Sim X and Test drive unlimited. The analogue sticks and buttons work fine.
i have tried both changing the control setting to keyboard but, once again the problem is still there, the plane doesn't stop spinning out of control...##Is it my controls? My general setting are on default so everything original...i have played around with the setting invert/normal... still the same result
I installed SS2 on this PC (runs windows vista home premium 32bit), but sadly the game won't run correctly. I've looked around a little bit, and I see that not watching the videos is a common problem. But that's not my main problem <:/ I can run the game just fine for about 30 seconds... suddenly, it just freezes. The last sound is looped, and the mouse is frozen.
My vista keeps locking up after various amounts of time, no matter whether its just idling, or im making the computer work hard. As ive read on other topics, I think its a driver issue, but I just dont know what to do. I will try another fresh vista install tomorrow and get the vista updates quickly to see whether that helps the situation. I have ensured it isnt overheating like it did initially when I bought the system, and it is now a safe and low temperature in a running state. Also, it only detects 3.5Gb of the 4Gb of RAM I have in my system. PC Spec:
Ive re-installed, windows, and it froze after I installed the chipset driver. I contiuned, and found a sound driver wasnt digitally signed. However it still crashes. I have got the latest drivers for it. For it to crash, all i did was open recycle bin, from idle state.
