I set a rule over a year ago to delete from the server, all mail over 750KBs. Now we have a faster connection and I want to change that, but can't find where. It's not listed in Message/Rule/Mail. Where is it located in Windows Mail? This is a Vista Home Premium computer with serv pack 2.

One of the accounts is an alias of the same emailbox.
They log in with the same accountname and password.
Recently i've made a rule in Windows mail so that all email from one of the accounts is placed is its respective folder.
The rule works partially because now, all email from both accounts is moved to the folder, while only one of the account is mentioned in the rule.
It looks like it has something to do with the fact that one of the accounts is an alias. The use the same emailbox.
Can someone please tell me if this is the case.
Has someone have any experience with the problem mentioned above.
The OS is Vista.
Do you have any useful links to resources to save attachments with a script or rule in windows mail. What I have seen, there is only an option to move the message to a special folder in the windows mail rules

About two months ago I was sometimes prevented from opening photo attachments on some emails received from the same party and sometimes could open them. By this I mean, I would click on the paperclip where a list of photos would appear and I'd click on on photo and I'd get a message saying: "Windows cannot find file name (photo captions used by sender).jpg. Make sure your typed the name correctly and then try again." Well, of course I didn't type the file name; the sender did. I could click on the save attachments, and once saved to a folder I could open them from the folder. I forwarded the mail to others, and they report no problems in viewing the photos. I can also view the photos in the email itself, but it would be necessary to scan up and down and from left to right to view the whold photo and the caption would not appear.

So, someone in this group told me to upgrade to Windows Live Mail. I did that and so far have been very happy with it. Except that, I can't find new stationery for the program. I love using cloudeight stationery and it was working on the windows mail, but not on windows live mail. I emailed and asked them about this and the following is their reply to me. Is this true? Is Windows Live Mail really Hotmail? I look forward to hearing back from someone about this.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computer crashed and I currently have my hard drive set up externally to copy the information off of it onto another computer. I was using Windows Mail that came with Vista on my old computer when it crashed. I've been able to salvage my data, but would like to find my messages stored in my Inbox in Windows Mail. I cannot open the program (Windows Mail) currently, but will be able to open it when my new computer arrives. For now, I'm copying needed files off my hard drive and storing them temporarily on my children's computer. I do not know what folders from Windows Mail, or Windows perhaps, that I need to save in order to hopefully open my saved inbox messages.

Under earlier versions you had the option of keeping messages in the delete folder when existing. I can't find that option in the current version of Windows Mail.

In the good old Outlook Express Address Book, I could open a Contact and in the "Other" tab, I could see a list of all the Groups that the person belongs to. In Windows Mail Contacts. I successfully imported all my Contacts and Groups. But is there a way to find out which Groups a person belongs to? It's too time consuming to manually search through each of my 20 groups. The Help section claims that Windows Mail has all the features of Outlook Express. but the list of Groups a person belongs to is obviously
missing. show me that I can display a list of Groups for each person. I rely heavily on Groups. Just for example, if I have multiple entries for the same person (with different email addresses), I can tell which one is the most current by looking at which email address is part of a recently set up Group.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI will be using 100GB HD for Vista. I have never partitioned a drive before. I do have Partition Magic but have not looked at it yet. I was wondering if it makes sense to divide the HD so Vista is on one part but the other programs install on a different partition. Would that make reformatting Vista easier? If it is a good idea how much should be allocated to the Vista partition. Can Vista do it adequately or should I use PM for making the partitions. As you can guess I don't understand partitioning rules at all!

My "size" option appears to have gone missing, and I'm not sure why. I searched with google, as well as these forums, though I could find no answer to my problem. (Though that doesn't mean one hasn't been posted; my searching skills may just be crappy.) Regardless, has anyone had this, or a similar issue, occur? Or does anyone know how to add your own "details" to choose from so I can get it back manually? I saw this: Folder Size for Windows Explorer. i got a new pc at work and not knowing what winmail was (outlook replacement) deleted everything that pertained to it. now i cant set it up and i need it. all my other coworkers use outlook so it would make it easier on me if i had it to. at first i tried to set it up but didnt know how to find the info on my mail server so i hit anything i could to get out of it. We have a mail service through a site called Proapp. how i can fix this or have i done something irreversible?

When I click on newsgroups I get the same message and have to answer and when I click back to my inbox I get the popup question again and I have to click it repeatedly. And it says to set it up but i dont know what the incoming e-mail server type is. And dont know what IMAP or POP3 is and what goes in there for the incoming mail server. As well as the outgoing e-mail server name (SMTP) I'm so clueless and usually confused when it comes to technical stuff on cumputers.
