Whenever I send an email in Windows Mail (Vista) it only saves the message in the local "Sent Items" folder but it doesn't actually sync it with the "Sent" folder associated with my account, which means if I am using internet based webmail, or a different client, I cannot see the mail I have sent using Windows Mail.
View 5 RepliesI am currently using AOL 9.0 and Windows Vista. I had 2 years worth of incoming e-mails stored in my "Saved on AOL" mail folder online. I recently deleted all my temporary files, cookies, and web site browsing history by way of Windows Vista's "Internet Option" section under the "Control Panel" device. For some reason, all of my incoming e-mails stored in my "Saved on AOL" mail folder online were totally wiped out. Is there anyway to get these saved e-mails back?. Why did this happen as saved e-mails online are not supposed to be touched by any offline deleting of temporary files, cookies, and web site browsing history?. My "Saved on AOL" mail folder as well as my "Recently Deleted" folder are both totally empty.

As there was a update on my widows update i finished my work and set it to update itself and i moved on to hand written work. As i use my laptop every day at "school" i have nearly a whole year of work saved on my laptop for my A levels. I saved all my work in a folder in my documents which i find now to be gone. I have tried using tune up utiliys "undelete" and "disc explorer" to find it yet it not there. One of the updates was for my office 2007 "sevice pack 1".

I then forward the e-mail and before sending it, open the attachment to check it, only to find that he changes I made are not there. Where does Mail/Word save the copy of the attachment I saved? I worked on them at school, emailed them to myself and when I reopened them at home I finished the projects. They are a word and apowerpoint file. I saved repeatedly with cntrl S.... Shut the programs, and now I can't find them anywhere. Yes, i have tried everything. I have spent hours on the phone with people trying to help me. I have looked in the temporary internet files, I have searched for the file names, I have done EVERYTHING I know to do. Surely since I saved these files they are somewhere on my computer. A shortcut comes up in word to the word document but says the path is invalid, but it also says that the file is on F drive, which I didn't use. This is a final project for a college class.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn my previous email program of choice, Outlook Express, I used to beable to select the "to" function within the email message template and see a display of contacts that included the FOLDERS. In Windows Mail, the same action calls up ALL the contacts and NO folders. ALthough I can select multiple contacts from the Windows Contacts folder and through "action", install them in the "To" pane of an email message, I cannot jump from folder to folder to, for example, select contacts within another folder whom I wish to CC on the same message. The "Action" sequence always generates a new email template, posting any selected contact or contacts to the "To" pane.
I do not wish to create GROUPS and then go through the convoluted process of calling up the group in the "To" pane, and then deleting the ones I don't want. Needless to say, this feature was critical to my email flow and organization. Am I missing something? I have checked every forum and group I can. Others report the same issue without resolution. One forum individual said, "That's the way Windows Mail is".
Trying to connect my Holux 60 PDA GPS to new Vista 64 bit Dell. Vista recognizes the unit but can't find a USB sync driver to install. Original driver is Acitve Sync XP based. Holux isn't offering Vista compatible software. Any generic driver out there that can restore communication between the two.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using a Medion laptop, model MIM 2210, with Vista Home Basic. I have installed the latest version of iTunes, version 7.5.
When I connect my iPod to my computer, it brings up a message in iTunes saying, "iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod."
I have tried both of these solutions several times, and keep getting the same message. I called Apple and they told me to try it on a different computer, so I tried it on my work laptop, which has XP and it syncs with the iPod without a problem.
I have seen on the Vista blog about a problem involving ejecting the device corrupting the iPod, but I do not have that issue.
I bought a Tungtsen E2 Palmone a couple of years ago and it worked just fine with Windows XP. I didn't do anything major with it other than transfer information (contacts & calender) back and forth using HotSync. However, I recently purchased a new Acer computer with Windows Vista - Home Premium (64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+) with 1.75 GB RAM; System type: 32-bit Operating System. I knew the old installation CD wouldn't be compatible with Vista, so I downloaded PalmdesktopWin62.zip from the support page at Palmone.com which claims to be the driver to get my palm to work with Vista.
My problem is that I can't seem to get Hot Sync to work properly. Hot Sync begins, but then gets interrupted by a prompt message "create a new account for this PC". If I click "cancel", it shuts down. If I click "yes", then it asks me to put in a password. I don't have a password, nor was I ever given one. I didn't need to use a password while using XP, and I certainly never assigned a password to my Palm.
I have just purchased an ATT Tilt. It has Mobile 6 Pro on it. When I plug in with my USB cable I get the option to open the device using various programs. I cannot seem to sync anything. I need to sync my Outlook 2007.

My notebook and desktop are on a Wi-Fi - so they can Share files. I want my Windows Live Contact list to be the SAME on both the desktop PC and the notebook PC at all times. When I add, delete, or modify a contact on either PC, then I want that same modification to be AUTOMATICALLY (and instantly) reflected in the contact list on the other PC. They are connected via Wi-Fi, so it sounds like a simple task - but I can't find a link that explains how to set it up.

Listed below is the debug of w32tm /resync /rediscover ... and the UI attempt to update. Other ntp clients work fine and I am able to do a stripchart command against time.windows.com w/o an issue. So, I don't think it is a firewall issue.

The tuner works fine, the tuner program works in Vista x64, channels are tuned in, and I can watch TV. However, I've just noticed, that if I leave power options on balanced (the default), the audio is fine. But, if I change it to power saver, the audio (when I watch TV on the tuner) goes out of sync. I tried changing USB settings to disabled (under advanced power settings (under power saver), no change the audio is still out of sync.

For those of you that do not know or use Offline Files, they are simply a local replica of a file that is on a network share. These replicas allow you to work on files you have set to be available offline even if you are not connected to say your corporate network or home server. You can manage all of the offline file settings in one place, the Sync Center.
The only problem I have with the new offline files is the massive green icon that is appended on top of any file that is setup to sync as an offline file. This provides a nice visual clue but often blocks a big portion or almost the entire icon depending on your explorer view. This is unnecessary and since you can manage your offline file from the new Sync Center, it is no longer really needed to find out what files are setup to be synced.
Follow these steps to disable the offline files logo from appearing on your files:
Click on the Start Menu, key in regedit and hit Enter........
