When it boots up, the Acer splash comes up preceeded by a brief flash like a safe mode setup, can not see what it says it happens very quickly, then the windows logo comes up then the desktop.Do you have to change bios settings , if so how?

my school has asked me to make a splash screen that will boot up when we turn on the computer, is there any simple tutorials on how to do this for windows XP, not using software cause we have to make one custom image to clone on to all the PC's
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to install my audio recording software(Cubase) but the installer just hangs at the splash screen before I can do anything.It used to install fine on my XP machine and it's said to be compatible with Vista.I'm on a q6600 with 4gb of ram and running Home premium.Running it with xp compatibility mode doesn't work and neither does running it with admin rights(I'm on admin account anyway).I also tried it with UAC off.But it works on my friend's dell xps laptop with vista home premium, installs and runs fine.Doesn't hang on the installer splash screen.Naturally this made me think it was due to my hardware BUT I actually got the installer working in vista home premium under MS Virtual pc 2007.I've also tried booting up into safe mode and trying it to no avail.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI suffer from Microsoft's sick joke where a blue screen is thrown over all my emails in Windows Mail. I noticed at least one solution where anti-virus could be disabled but I did not think that was practical. I found that if I run it as an administrator I never get the blue screen. However, I can only run as administrator by right clicking and selecting that option from the menu that comes up. Is there a string that can be added to the target for the shortcut which will automatically launch windows mail in the administrator mode?

I changed my screen resolution in order to better view a video. When I changed it back, the Send/Receive window that shows incoming and outgoing mail popped up far to the left of the Windows Mail window, instead of right above it where it has always been. I re-started the computer, but that did not fix the problem. I want to get the Send/Receive window to pop up where it used to--it is currently nconvenient for viewing.

I want all downloaded mail to stay in the inbox until I move it. I always was able to DELETE the junk mail box in Outlook, and that is the way I prefer it. View 5 Replies View RelatedI haveWindows Home Premium 32bit and a serious problem with "Windows Defender"I once attempted to get rid of Windows Defender.The result is that my system starts with
a warning saying that some programs were blocked.If I try to see which programs I get the following error "Impossibile inizializzare l'applicazione: 0x800106ba...".
I could not find a way to fix it.I search the windows site but their solutionsare not applicable since "Windows Defender" does not appear in the list of installed programs.
Therefore I cannot uninstall it.
I also tried
"msiexec /uninstall
windowsdefender.msi /quiet /log uninstall.log"
which does nothing usefull
(empty log and no solution to the problem).
I have tried to reinstall but then it complains it is already installed.Is there a way to fix this problem without having to reinstall windows vista which in my case would mean
a full format (I have a restoration vista cd which came with my laptop).
Suddenly out of no where a pop up box appears in the middle of all incoming E-mail "LIVE WINDOWS TALK" and I cannot remove it. Said box blocks all messages....how can I get this out of my life?
