I really want to keep the multiply identies you get with Outlook - as I dont want o have seperate Log ins - so if I can't do this wiht the vista MAil can I remove it completely and install outlook?
View 5 RepliesI have an HP7900 16GB memory using Vista 64. I have a big problem as I can't install / remove any software. Can't access outlook 2003 (it just hangs, just like when I try to install / remove software). I can't use the restore programmes either (Just hangs as above). This all stated when a red cross appeared on my networking icon in the bottom right of the screen.
I have tried to down load registry checkers but as above, they can't install. I can still access the internet and use all my adobe software, all office except outlook and use the internet. Has anyone else seen this?

I downloaded a video through utorrents,when I tried to play it through 'Windows Media Player' it was'nt able to play it and a dialogue box appeared asking me to download a codec which was necessary to play that video.Since the dialogue box appeared through 'Windows Media Player' and due to my ignorance,I thought it was authorized and downloaded the codec..........
Running Vista Home Prem 32BIT I deleted a file, it was in a Folder I had created that was located on my desktop. I realize when you delete a File, the File Pointer is the only thing erased, the file data remains on the drive. This is a sensitive file and I would like to know if there is away to completely erase the file so its not recoverable (I don't want to Reformat my drive....just want to remove the Erased file)

That being said, my husband uses Microsoft Outlook 2007 on his laptop and I don't want any of his e-mails coming to my laptop or interfering with his incoming mail. Can I uninstall Outlook Express completely from my laptop since I only occassionally use a free yahoo account for my e-mail? Or is there a way I can shut off Outlook Express so that I don't intercept any of his e-mails?

When I right click on the calendar to delete it (in the navigation pane), the menu option to delete the calendar is greyed out and it won't allow me to delete it. I did have a third calendar on there as well, but it allowed me to delete that one with no trouble. How can I delete that 2nd calendar file?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop that I upgraded from XP Pro to Vista Ultimate and a laptop running on Windows XP Pro. I recently upgraded both devices from Office 2003 to Office 2007. Before I upgraded the desktop to Vista, I copy the Outlook.pst back and forth the two machines to synchronize my e-mail. Now that the desktop is running on Vista and the laptop still running XP Pro, can I do the same thing to synchronize my e-mail or is there a better solution in synchronizing the pst files.

Using this guide will it keep me from getting the error that I need to install the "nvidia serial ata controller driver" I also have a copy of Vista that was used by us techs at the now defunct Circuit City that is an enterprise edition. Is it true I need to remove some of the RAM to complete the install? or is this trial and error? If I chose to do a dual boot of 32 and 64 bit (if possible) would I still need to uninstall the RAM The reason for my wishing to to downgrade to 32 bit is I am a web designer and none of my software (dreamweaver, CS4 suite, cuteFTP) will run on 64 bit.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I boot up in the morning, I have to wait 20 to 30 mins before Outlook 07 will connect to my Exchange 2003 server. Until then, when I try to open Outlook it says, cannot open the default e-mail folders. And it suggests there is a network issue or that the Exchange server is down. These are not the case. The Exchange server is up and there are no network issues. I have many other computers attached to the network and none of them have this issue. Some our XP Pro/Office 07, some are XP Pro/Office 2003. The big difference with my machine is that it is Vista.
After about 20 to 30 minutes, wow! it connects! And then it's good for the rest of the day. I usually only minimize Outlook after I actually get it open so the connection is maintained throughout the day. I'm not sure what would happen if I closed it completely. But one thing is for sure, every morning, it takes 20 to 30 minutes before it will connect. Eventually, it always connects.
I use Windows Mail on my machine with Vista x64 only because I don't have Outlook installed... Is that obsolete with Vista? My question regards attachments that are attached to the email. They are stripped/removed in transit. Other posts about this say that they can see the attachment but can't open it... but this is a different issue. There is no attachment at all though I attached and sent the email myself.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get around a problem in Outlook (2007), whereby Outlook hangs for around ten minutes if you hit key or click the mouse whilst it is mid-stream of checking a POP3 mailbox. To this point, I've tried just about everything, recreating the Outlook profile, recreating the Windows profile, installed SP1, uninstalled SP1, installed other office hotfixes, uninstalled same hotfixes, installed Vista SP1, uninstalled Vista SP1, installed Vista hotfixes, uninstalled Vista hotfixes.
The next thing I want to do, short of a fresh clean install of Vista, is to do an inplace re-install of Vista. However, in the Home Premium stakes, all I have is an OEM disk, which is what the machine came with. Does anyone have any way this can be done? I want to try this as a last-resort fix, as it did work for me in resolving a problem with a different Outlook 2007 problem on a Vista Business machine, but I feel kind of stuck, and in a position where I now have to purchase a Home Premium Upgrade, just to get the disk. Seems a lot of expense to go to, just for a piece of plastic.
I run 2 machines Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista Home Premium. I have been using Outlook 2000 for years in the XP machine. I am unable to install Outlook 2000 onto the Vista machine. Is there a way to do it?

I want all downloaded mail to stay in the inbox until I move it. I always was able to DELETE the junk mail box in Outlook, and that is the way I prefer it. my ISP is Charter, but I do not use charter for my email. I use AOL. My parents have AOL and I have a screen name that I use b/c I have had that email for years. I am trying to set up my Windows Mail (I think this is basically outlook???) I typed in my pop3/smtp and so on. It then prompted me to log in so windows could verify and proceed on. Well, I did my AOL screenname and password and it is not working. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I just can't seem to get my AOL mail into outlook so I can use just outlook.

When I create email using Send To and start typing in the TO block, it will recognize two or three of the addresses in my address book but not the whole list of A's, B's, or whatever. Outlook is NOT listed in the default programs section of the Vista control panel, nor is it listed as a program in "Program and Features."
