Outlook Calendar 2003 To Import My Outlook File (outlook.pst
May 11, 2008
I'm learning to use Vista (new computer purchased yesterday) and my old PC as XP and Office 2003. I only use the calendar feature of Outlook and was wondering if there's a way to import my outlook file (outlook.pst) to Vista Calendar (seems to only import .ics files) as I don't yet have Outlook 2007 installed on my Vista PC.
importing oulook.pst from outlook 2003 to windows mail, everytime I try it writted me ''Messages cannot be imported from MAPI client''- General error has occurred.
I bought a new computer running Vista Home Prem x64 SP1 and installed Outlook 2007. My older computer (XP x32 SP2) has Outlook 2003. Both computers are connected in a home network. All my emails and address book are in Outlook 2003 outlook.pst file. How do I bring that outlook.pst (2003) into Outlook 2007, so that I could have all my emails and address book in Outlook 2007? Right now in my Outlook 2007 my address book is practically blank.
There are similar threads, but I might be lucky enough to have a twist on the problem. I have a PST with a main calendar ("Work Calendar"). I created 2 calendars under this (Cal1, Cal2). At this point, I want to delete my work calendar and just use Cal1 and Cal2. I moved Cal1 and Cal2 out from under "Work" to the main PST level. However, the option to delete the work calendar is still greyed out. Unfortunately, all 3 are in the same PST. And now, my MobileMe sync with my iPhone shows my calendars as blank since I presume nothing is under the "Work" calendar! THis is not fun.
In outlook 2007, I installed a calendar from my hotmail account, and I would like to remove it from outlook all together now. When I right click on the calendar to delete it (in the navigation pane), the menu option to delete the calendar is greyed out and it won't allow me to delete it. I did have a third calendar on there as well, but it allowed me to delete that one with no trouble. How can I delete that 2nd calendar file?
I have a desktop that I upgraded from XP Pro to Vista Ultimate and a laptop running on Windows XP Pro. I recently upgraded both devices from Office 2003 to Office 2007. Before I upgraded the desktop to Vista, I copy the Outlook.pst back and forth the two machines to synchronize my e-mail. Now that the desktop is running on Vista and the laptop still running XP Pro, can I do the same thing to synchronize my e-mail or is there a better solution in synchronizing the pst files.
I am using Vista Home premium 32 bit and i am using windows mail for all my emails. I also have office 2007 with Microsoft Outlook.
Problem is that i want to use microsoft Outlook but i can't transfer/export my email accounts from Vista Windows mail to Microsoft Outlook or even outlook express for XP. I have forgotten 3 critical passwords so I cannot recreate the email accounts in Outlook....
How can I export my email accounts to microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express from Vista Windows mail?
Is it possible to import directly from an Outlook data file (.pst)? The wizard seems to only work if you have an active installation, which I do not after upgrading from XP to Vista 64 (along with a new motherboard, processor and memory). I had the older version of Office Home and Student that came with Outlook, but Office 2007 Home & Student does not.
I am running win Vista 32. I have the following email programs running, Windows Mail, MS Outlook and outlook express. I only want to run one and thinking about windows mail. What would be the best and What is the best way to remove outlook and outlook exprss email programs.
My office run XP, Outlook 2003 on the Exchange server no problem. I have bought a new machine with Vista and cannot access my mail. I am connected to the office domain and Outlook can find me on the domain but Outlook will not connect any further, keeps asking for a password
When I select Outlook in the import wizard a message box opens staitng that "e-mail cannot be imported from a MAPI client. MAPI is not installed or there was an error starting MAPI" What's the problem here? Do I need to install MAPI for indowsVista / Windows Mail and if so how? Or is there some other way to import the Outlook.pst file that I exported from WinXP/Outlook?
I'm just setting up my Outlook now to pull in email from my various accounts and it's being a bear. I finally get it to connect with my AOL inbox, only instead of true inbox titles I'm getting all my deleted mail. To make matters worse, the deleted mail won't allow itself to be moved to the appropriate folder. It tells me: "Can't move the items. Unable to download item contents. You must be online to perform this operation." What the heck? How is it I'm not online when I open up my mailbox?
I have windows xp pro and vista on my computer. I find I like OE 6.0 on my xp pro to be much faster than windows mail, and I need to switch to windows mail. Unfortunately, i have several accounts on windows mail, and I have forgotten their passwords. So I exported each account in windows mail, and have saved the internet account settings (in *.iaf files). When I use the import function in OE 6.0 (Tools->accounts->Import), it won't let me import any account settings. I don't remember the passwords of a few of those accounts (which currently work with windows mail), but I need to create such accounts in OE 6.0. Is there a way I can migrate account settings in windows mail to OE 6.0?
Im trying to import my mail folders/messages from Window Mail to Outlook. In Outlook, I choose, File, Import, Import from another file/program, Windows mail. Outlook finds old mail files (from Outlook express) and imports them perfectly. Problem is they are not my windows mail files. I dont know where outlook is looking for the files or how to find the outlook files to delete them and move the windows mail files to where Outlook is looking.
Motherboard fried, upgraded computer with Vista and installed old hard drive. Installed Outlook and trying to import all old e-mails from OE on hard drive from old computer.
I am using Windows mail and don't like the way it works, especially the autocomplete feature in the address bar. Can I move all my settings, email, etc. to Outlook 2003 and if so how? I am only doing this to hopefully access the auto complete feature that I expect is available in Outlook like it was in Outlook Express.
i have outlook 2003 and running it in Vista and it constantly stops working and displays the Not Responding message i then restart outlook and it works for a while the repeats all day long.
I have a Dell Laptop with Windows Vista Ultimate (32 Bit OS) and I have Office 2007 Enterpris edition installed. I had my work email (Exchange Server) configured within my outlook and it worked fine until lastweek. It just stopped working and I thought I'll try and reset outlook and try and re-configure but then everything went really wrong.
I deleted all the Pst and ost files, deleted the old profile and created a new one.I configured a new profile and configured the exchange server settings and tried to start outlook but now it only gives me an error saying .... "cannot open default email folder. you must connect to microsoft exchange with current profile before you can synchronize with your offline folder file".. (see the screenshots)................
Does Windows Mail have the ability to import Outlook files (MS Office XP Small Business Outlook) into Windows Mail? I'd like to know before configuring it.
Having just purchased a laptop running Vista Home Premium, I am setting up a Windows Mail account and I wish to import all my Outlook Express Folders and Address Book from my Windows XP SP2 machine. Could someone re-direct me to the correct group for dealing with this, or even tell me where to find the information necessary to make the export/import transition?
I've upgraded to Vista and windows mail but cant seem to import the old message from XP. I see the files in explorer but when I try the import messages via windows mail, the directory where the emails are don't show up?
My problem is that Outlook 2003 on VISTA Business hangs when checking for incoming mail. It also somestimes takes a very long time (several minutes) to send an email - the email window remains open with the hourglass running, and while waiting to send or while receiving Outlook is completely hung, so you cannot use it - you cannot even minimize or get any response from any of the Outlook windows. The windows do not redraw.
If I cancel the application using Task Manager, it initially says "Outlook is not responding" and also "Checking for a solution to this problem" but then both Outlook and the "Checking for a solution" windows vanish without trace. On restart Outlook will sometimes work OK when pressing send/receive, other times it will hang as before. It does not come up with the message that Outlook was not closed properly and does not go through the file checking process.
I have been using Windows Mail in the Vista OS for the past 2 years. I have built a new computer and will be running Windows 7. I want to run Office 2003 on the new machine with MS Outlook. Question: How do I transfer my addrerss book and messages from Windows Mail in Vista over to MS Outlook?
I tried to add my son an e mail account on outlook 2003 and all seemed ok but then an error message from postmaster said that account is disabled. I am not very good at all with computers and I am afraid that if I experiement I may end up screwing things up. Does anyone know what to do or should I wait till monday and call microsoft?
I have an Outlook account on my old computer which ran Windows XP and i tried to switch it over to my new computer which runs vista. My first problem is that none of my mail or address book downloaded. i can get over that. But I cant receive any mail. I can send it though. Ive always had little quirky problems with Outlook but now it has a Vista twist. Here is that message I get:
Account: 'erica', Server: 'pop3.catalog.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR authorization first', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18
I have added Windows mail as an accepted program in Windows Firewall. I have unistalled Norton Virus. Ive removed the account twice and readded it. I have contacted support for Outlook, They say my anti virus program may need to be set up to accept Windows mail but I think Ive done that now by changing the Firewall. I read on here that maybe I should switch to a Windows live account but email address is a buisness account so can i just switch servers?
