1. When opening a message from the message list, the new window opens in "non full screen" mode. I have to then click on the maximize button. How do I default to full screen for new windows in general?
2. When I open a message and then hit the delete button, it takes me automatically to the next message, I want it to go back to the message list. I know in outlook where you can set these settings but can't find it with Windows mail.
Why do I get black picture after I have pressed PrtSc button? Of course it shouldn't be black and it happens only when the screen is on full screen mode (for an example videos, games etc.). View 4 Replies View Relatedi have both Vista and XP in my system with Vista in C drive and XP in D drive..i want to work in full screen mode of XP.. but in vista i cant do it...So each time i have to reboot my sytem and get into XP to do so..so if i can load already installed XP on my vista, it would be helpful...can anyone help me out..remember that i have installed XP and Vista already and i am not using any Virtual PC kind.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe 1st problem is WMP11 failing to play .WMA or WMV files in Full Mode. The canned posts zachd has supplied everywhere does not fix the problem for most people. THIS IS A WMP11 PROBLEM! It is not an Intel graphics problem, or a Codec problem, or some other vendor's problem. This is evidenced by the fact that video will play if you start in Skin Mode and then switch to Full Mode while it is already playing. However it won't play if you start off in Full Mode first. The 2nd problem is THERE IS NO WMP11 UNINSTALL/REINSTALL!
Why hasn't it occurred to Dev that making a clean uninstall/reinstall procedure will resolve the WMP11 problems caused by corrupt files and registry entries? The Full Mode problem is a recurring problem seen in numerous user forums on the across Internet. Please do something to correct this problem once and for all.
Last week I upgraded a HPxw4400X workstation from WinXP Pro w/SP3 to Vista Business. I did a full backup and also used FAST (files and settings transfer wizard). However, I soon found out that the DVD drive was "broke". HP told me it was because of the upgrade. They said to do a fresh install. Did another backup, fresh install, then a restore. Had lots of problems with BSOD, but a selective restore got it working again. But he can't see MS Office, nor navigate to it. I can see it when logged in as an admin. I thought of copying files and folders between profiles (he has 3 of 'em - , ., and ..000). The former is the oldest so I thought I could copy the App Data and User Data over it'd work (in both Documents and Settings, and Users), but it didn't work. I've been here working on various issues for 28 hours, so I'm not thinking as clearly as I'd like.

Previously, I would type the first letter of an email address and I would get all of the contacts to whom I've sent email as options for the address. Now, I seem to only get a list of people I've emailed within the last day or two. This is annoying (for example, when I cc myself, I seem to have to type in the address every time).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have tried on many occasions to change my SMTP port from 25 to 587, but after I apply my changes and exit Mail and restart Mail, my SMTP ports resorts back to 25. The same thing happens when I change Outgoing Mail Authentication settings. I make the changes and things work, but as soon as I exit the program nothing sticks. Running Vista Home Premium with the latest updates.

Windows mail could not be started. Initializing junk filtering, your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. (0X80070002)
When you click on the ok button then i get a second window which reads:
Windows mail could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized.
How do i fix this? I have tried some update however nothing seems to work.

After many attempts to send 1 email, I changed my outgoing server name several times, apparently incorrectly. I don't know how to go back to the default settings.
I would like to create a file/files that have my newsgroup settings from Windows Mail, that I can import the next time I have to reinstall Vista. Does Windows Mail make a backup file? I searched the Vista help files but the only thing I saw was the Windows easy transfer wizard---I would like to keep this file in my Documents folder, which I back up to an external drive--Windows won't save the file to the same hard drive like I would prefer. Is there any other way to back up my Windows Mail settings?
I see in Windows Mail, the Tools>Accounts button will give me a new window, which allows me to click Export, which will produce an .iaf file. Is this what I am interested in?
Just curios of everyone that uses Windows Live Mail finds it to be better than Windows Mail and why? If I were to install it, any known problems I should be aware of and will it bring all my settings, contacts and so on over?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI try to retrieve my mail, but Windows Mail remains in Offline Mode, and when I use the connection in the box, (the same one I am connecting to), it will disconnect me from the internet, and then give me an error stating that I canceled the retrieval. If I choose not to select a connection, it tells me also that I canceled the retrieval.
I have set IE to its defaults, and not to dial a connection, as well as Windows Mail is also set not to dial a connection, but it tries to dial anyway, as well as remain in OFFLINE MODE. HELP, I would like to retrieve my email some day.

On vista though you can't run dos in full screen So I really wanted to load a version of Windows 98 on to a new partition on my new computer. I created a new partition and a windows 98 startup cd and re started the computer. I ran fdisk and set the new partition active and attempted to load Win98. For some reason unknown to me 98 wouldn't install properly so I gave up. I restarted and deleted the partition through fdisk. I then set the Vista partiton active and now the computer won't load vista at all, only a black screen with a flashing cursor.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter completing a system recovery, I am unable to get a sharp full screen picture any more. I have a 20" lcd and the best I can do is about 8" before it starts to pixilate.
To get widescreen I have to zoom and that makes it even worse. I have an nvidia geforce 6150se card, and the tv card is a haupauge wintv hvr-1600, vista home premium ,computer is an HP pavilion m8000n.
I have downloaded all updates I can find but to no avail. The sample movies that come with media will not play any better. Can someone help. Miss my pc/vcr.
Any application like a game or a presentation wont use the entire monitor! It centers itself into a square and leaves a huge gap on each side. I cant take a screenshot so I will try to draw an example. Imagine the white is the application and the picture is my entire monitor. I dont know what else to do. I've updated the drivers and nothing seems to work! It's a HP Compaq 6710b, I haven't changed any display hardware. I've changed the RAM that's it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedUp until 2 weeks ago when I was browsing and hit F11, the display would go full screen. No menus, no toolbars, no taskbars, nothing. Now when I hit F11, all of my tabs, the address bar, & the menu bar remain. I'd like them gone again. I've read a bit about auto-hide, but that seems to only work on the taskbar.
I do not get the full screen output on my TV when connected via HDMI. This is very frustrating. The TV itself works fine in full screen (1080p, 720p, 480p, etc). I DO get full screen output on any Linux o/s I test it with, via hdmi. However, I prefer to use Vista instead in order to use MCE and the plugins I have (Netflix, Joost, etc plus MCE remote). I duplicatedt this before and after upgrading to Vista SP1. I've duplicated this with many WHQL certified NVidia drivers as well. Literally at least 5-10 different driver versions for my 8400M GT card.
I cannot figure out why it is not showing full screen output, but I can confirm this happens in Vista only, not Linux (did not and will not test in XP). My index score in Vista is 5.0. It was actually 5.3 at one time, then dropped to 5.1 and 5.0 over few months span...........
Whether I am look at google maps, or I am at my home page (and this is just a couple), in different areas on my screen there are RED X's in squares of which I can not open. How can I get rid of these so that I can see everything.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI’m running Vista x64 with a 24” wide screen HD monitor with 1920x1200 native resolution. (Check my System Specs for all my hardware.) However, I can only get full screen with 1280x720. Any higher and my screen shifts to the left and I lose about 1/3 to ½ of my available viewing area. Anything on the left side of my task bar is gone, including the Windows (start) button. If I go to my native 1920x1200 res the text is so small it’s virtually unreadable (along, again, with losing a third of my viewing area). What’s the purpose of having this monitor if I can’t get it to display the full screen with readable text? I’m guessing I must be doing something wrong.

View 7 Replies View RelatedEverytime i try to shutdown my VAIO it goes through the process and at the last moment i get a full blue screen it says dumping physical memory and automatically restarts. The only way i can switch it off is to force a shutdown by holding the power button. When i do this then every time i restart it, ittells me it wasn't shut down properly.
