Vista 32 bit system with Dell 948 AIO Printer Prints test page, prints from Internet Explorer. Cannot print anything from a MS Office program (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc). Can print from all programs when disabling User Account Control (UAC). UAC Enabled did not keep me from getting that nasty malware called Personal Antivirus, so what's the use of having UAC enabled?
View 9 RepliesHave checked the posts regarding this subject and googled it extensively but could not find any definitive answers. As I stated in some other post I got MS Office 97 Pro installed just fine and everything's working with no major problems; don't even have to use any compatability mode on Access, Excel and Binder (Powerpoint, Outlook are not installed) but must use WIN2000 compatability mode for Word or I can't use the Tools/Envelopes and Labels feature (popup-something about incorrect parameter). The problem I have is with printing in Word.
I can print just fine from the print icon on the toolbar in both regular view or print preview but when I try to use Print from within the File menu I get an error message like the one shown below. All other printing from any of those mentioned programs works just fine. I've been at this for some time now; uninstalled through Vista and MS Office Add/Remove and by also removing any readily identifiable instances of MS Office, reinstalled as an Administrator and not, in addition to using different compatability modes and the Print "problem" in Word persists.
I have a new HP laptop that came with windows vista home premium, and I cannot get it to print any office XP word documents or PDF files. What is really odd is that it registers the printer, shows the ink available in each cartridge, and the printer will print my emails from comcast. I loaded the newest drivers, updated everything. I am stumped. Microsoft Vista will not print microsoft word documents.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWe print to a Canon iR C2620 installed on the network. Prior to VSP1 we had no problems. Now, we can still print but no matter what program we print from... it immediately stops responding and Vista closes the program (IE7, Mail, Office, etc). Tried reinstalling the printer drivers (the latest from canon for vista) with no luck. Have not tried to roll back the SP1 update.

Originally, I had Office 2003 installed in my computer, & a trial version of 2007 that had already expired.
Today I installed a full version of Microsoft Office 2007, without removing any of the other two versions from my computer. I realized that it seemed to automatically remove the older version. I`m not bother about it not being there, as I got the new version, but I wonder if this is an automatic uninstalling that Office does, or if the version is still there but I can`t see it, as I would like to remove it properly if it`s still somewhere in my computer.
I checked in Control Panel & the only thing I can see is "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007", the full version I just installed, & everything that come with it. No 2003 anywhere.
I know you can do this document-by-document by opening each document individually and clicking "Upgrade" or whatever, but is there a way to convert all your Office documents at once?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIve been having a few problems with uninstalling some programs via the add/remove programs tool. For example I have been trying to uninstall Itunes and everytime I do Windows installer says it is preparing to remove and then it stops and a window come up that says "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." and then another one says I do not have sufficient access to uninstall Itunes and to please contact system administrator.
So I spoke to a friend how recommended this forum subject and I followed the Take Ownership steps a few times but to no avail it still does the same thing. I can't update Itunes untill this one is uninstalled!!!!!
I use Vista 32 Ultimate and I have this problem during the startup of Windows: The UAC control stops 2 programs and I'm not able to let these programs load with UAC control active. Tried everything also in Windows defender but no success. I must always confirm and let run these programs clicking on the UAC block tray icon that appear during the load of these 2 programs. Someone tell me that these programs blocked by UAC must be updated from the developers to pass the UAC.

I have that thing where I have to log in using a username and password, something that I downloaded and put into my registry. Anyway, all the time, when I log in, it takes forever to load up, it just stays as welcome and doesnt load. I left it for half an hour and it still hadnt loaded! So, I turned it off and on again, and it worked. But, a couple of times, I had to turn it off and on about 5 times ,and when it didnt load, I had to start it again in safe mode. THEN it worked. But, I hate safe mode!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using Vista Home Premium 64bit and Trend Micro anti virus+ anti spyware. I was playing 2moons for about three weeks before this happened. Changes that have occured include me being made an admisinstrator and UAC being turned off. I started playing 2moons and after a minute it froze up. Trend Micro alerted me that a program was trying to make unauthorized changes and it didn't help when I allowed or didn't allow said change.It now happens everytime I run 2moons but only that program. I tracked it to my LocalTemp folder and its name fluxuates. Its called yvnta.sys and will move around the first three-four letters each time it tries to change something. I scanned it with TM but it found nothing. its about 10 kb. Is this a legit sys file, if not should i delete it? Let me know if you need more info. I moved it to the recycle bin and ran the program agian, now there is another file named yvatn.sys. they are now both in the recycle bin. Could it be coming from 2moons?

I turn it on an everything is hunky dory until the next time I boot up and we have to go through the same process again. This is only a recent thing and as far as I can tell the system is clear of viruses and spyware. Can anyone offer me any insight?
