when i restart my pc windows asks for a password .i dont put one in and it starts up when i tried to change this in user acounts i get a message client services for netware has disabled the welcome screen and fast user switching. to restore these features you must uninstall client services for netware. how do i do this. i cant find clients for net ware.

I went into the User Profiles in the control panel and disabled all the users (thinking this would stop me from having to log in every time). Then, I shut down the computer and rebooted. Imagine the butterflies when I seen the "Logon to windows" box pop up. Nevertheless, I entered my password and it says user has been deactivated or something and says "see your administrator". Well, I am the administrator - What the heck did I do. Tell me its not the end of the world for my computer. How do I get back into the system and reactivate my user account?

The hand cursor never becomes a cursor for me to type in passowords to user accounts. I went into safe mode and then into control panel and deleted the passwords for each user acct and now I can get into the accounts but how can I add the passwords again and be able to type them in. We have 3 user accounts on this pc and would like to have them password protected.

I have a problem with my Windows XP Pro Fast switching between user accounts.
When I first installed XP I had disabled fast user switching, but I have now added another user profile and went into to services and enabled fast user switching. It works about 50 % of the time, however sometime when I hit Window Key+L it brings up the logon screen, when I click on an account it asks for a password, however I have no passwords on the accounts, and nothing i type in works, and I have to restart the computer. Even when I set a password and it locks me out that password will not work and I have to restart
I tried turning off my computer password, since I am the only one who uses it. But I did something wrong....Windows XP logs on as Administrator, and says I can't log on due to user restrictions. I was able to log on using the name I gave the computer, but how do I disable having to use any passwords, and fix the logon problem with Administrator?

I don't know what happened exactly but for whatever reason, the computer simply restarted itself for no apparent reason and then it wouldn't boot the operating system correctly so I tried to get into safe mode to try and diagnose the problem. I have never had a password set up on my computer (XP home edition) and one day the computer requested a username and password at logon (never had a logon screen pop up). I was in the middle of loading mcafee, which seemed to be the beginning of the problem. I do not know how to get around this. I have tried safemode, but the computer still asks for a username and password for safe mode.

View 4 Replies View Relatedyesterday i dl logonloader to change my logon screen. i went to deviantart to dl a new picture. it was a zip file and i used winrar to extract it. i logged off my computer and a black screen with a box popped up. it asked where to extract the file to and it automatically gave c:/windows/system32 as the location. i hit install and now i get an error message saying incorrect path. i cannot get back into my computer. i've tried extracting to other locations. windows support had me install another windows on my computer..so now i have 2 operating systems. but i still cannot access the other system to retrieve any files. is there anything i can do short of allowing everything to be erased and have the computer restored?

But I need help because my laptop isn't working. The problem is that when I get to the login screen there is no user account to click on and instead shows me just a blank spot where the button should be. I have tried using control-alt-del and it pops up as a different login screen, but when I try to login it says "cannot log in interactively".
I am facing difficulties to logon to my laptop. It runs on Windows XP SP2 and it has been working fine for the last 9 months. I have installed a software called "cnbtech" which is used to installed drivers for a camera.I restarted my laptop and the laptop stops in the Logon page. The weird part is that the user icon is not displayed on the screen.So the pressed "ctrl+alt+del" to open a page which shows my name as the user and it request for a password, but i do not have any idea about the password as i did not set any password before. I tried to enter the administrator mode but it request for a password as well, and i even tried to run on safe mode but the password is still being asked.There are so many important documents saved in it so i cannot afford to reformat my laptop. So i have removed my hardisk and connected it as an external hardisk to another laptop. Here i can view all the softwares and docoments stored in my hard disk.My opinion is that the "dll files" which are assigned to the Windows Logon might have been corrupted. I want to replace the dll files with a new one from another laptop. Now my problem is i don't know which dll files are assigned to the windows Logon.

However, at this point a strange little Windows-like box pops up withe a yellow triangle, a "yes" button and a "no" button. There is no other text in the box. Not being sure what the heck it was, I clicked NO and the computer booted up as normal. This box has appeared on each subsequent reboot. I have run AdAware, but Spybot S&D fails to respond each time I try to launch it (related?).
